  this person confronted this parent about it and got a very self righteous reply back from the offender.

  already a precedent for exposing the watchtower society has been set.

  What are your professional credentials?

  One does not need 'professional credentials' to warn those without 'professional credentials' that they should be beware of offering advice or 'support' to those who require 'professional help'. You are actually reinforcing our point, though you choose to attack it! Your foot must be full of holes these days.

  That you do not understand the principles involved here JK666, is not a suprise I am sad to say.

  It may be unknown to you, but Uzzah spent many years within WTS Legal and is privy to numerous cases of child sexual abuse and how the WTS handles them. He also 'appeared' on a documentary on the subject that was televised all across North America some years ago.

  Despite this, he would be the last person, recognizing the folly of doing so, to try to offer help outside his own professional credentials. He made this plain above, and so do I, so please, rather than react from the hurt feelings that you are dragging around from thread to thread like a decomposing Alabatross these days, just read his posts and think about them carefully before replying. Your frequent wanderings from reason just clutter up the Board.

  I am merely bringing attention to the child abuse problem and asking others on ways to expose these pedophiles

  Yes, I understand this, and I am merely suggesting that it would be wiser to learn much more about the subject before you even attempt to deal with 'exposing these pedophiles'.

  A good start is actually finding out the difference between an abuser of children and pedophile so that you best understand which direction you need to move in. There are numerous cases of those who have sexually abused children and who do so once, and never abuse again. These people are opportunists looking for gratification at the expense of the first available and easily manipulated person who crosses their paths. If it is a child, well who cares as long as they get relief. They may also sexually abuse numerous times, but are not defined as pedophiles.

  Then there are pedophiles, who are a completely different animal. They are predators, and the hunt itself is exciting to them. Unlike the opportunist they plan, deceive with an astonishing cunning, fantasize and cannot function properly without the smell of infant sex in their nostrils. They are as addicted to the perverted desire for children as are the most addicted Crack addict you might imagine, and of course, not all of them are male. Sometimes the female works in conjunction with the male as the 'soft' entry to a childs confidence, other times it is vica versa.

  This is a very, very simple summation of what is a very, very complex issue. Tinkering with such issues in a spirit of well-meaning ignorance will only lead to tears.

  What we are discussing here has been discussed at very great length, including the whole subject of how to 'out' a child abuser, or a pedophile, at great length on this Board. My suggestion is to spend a little time trawling the search function. I am sure what you are looking for is already there.

  Pedophiles : 23,000 this would be 2.3 percent of witnesses in the United States . Breaking the figures down it comes out to 5 pedophiles per every 233 witnesses , broken down further: 2 to 3 pedophiles per every 116 witnesses. THAT is pretty scary if these figures are just U . S. figures. Now, if the 23,000 pedophiles are the worldwide total among the 6,000,000 Jehovah's Witnesses here is how it shakes down : 23,000 pedophiles would be about .04 percent of witnesses worldwide. Breaking the figures down it comes to 2 pedophiles per every 1,420 witnesses or 1 pedophile per every 720 witnesses . Even at those figures at any given district convention you'd have to figure there are at least 2 to 5 pedophiles in attendance ! And considering each pedophile molests multiple children in their twisted crimes , it gives cause for concern.

  Your premises are based on a figure that has never been officially validated, so it is of little use speculating. If 23,000 files exist, some of these may actually pertain to one person committing a number of different crimes, so trying to drain statistics from this unvalidated figure is pointless.

  You also need to understand that not every person who abuses a child sexually is a pedophile. Pedophlia is a defined disease of the mind. The majority of abusers are opportunists who do not fall into this specialized category.

  Before you launch into this very sensitive arena with well meaning but misguided motives, you should dignify survivors by spending a few intense months researching the subject thoroughly.

  This is a perfect example of self appointed therapists and do-gooders potentially causing more harm than good.

  Flipper: Are you personally prepared to pay for the therapy that is likely going to be needed after a 'recommended' confrontation? Each person with the help of PROFESSIONALS need to determine best measures for them to deal with their abuse. Some lambs CHOSE to be silent rather than reliving the abuse in the form of a suit or confrontation.

  Your naive recommendation about exposing "alleged' pedophiles is just plain dumb legally and ethically regardless how well intentioned. There are plenty of professional sites in existence to expose tried and sentenced.

  Obviously more self help books and episodes of Dr. Phil are needed.

  Go crazy offering your version of 'support' but for your and more importantly the safety of vulnerable ones, stay away from therapy and giving advice on that which you have no credentials.

  Well said! Could you couch your language so that it is less direct and more cuddly though? That way you might stand a chance of being misinterpreted, which as we all know is fodder to tickled ears. Seriously, the dangers of professional ideas launched by amateur minds in such situations should never be underestimated. HS
