if one assumes that the bible is true, (not saying that it is) then a really big question arises.. eve was in the garden, minding her own business and a snake decieves her into eating from a tree that god had said not to eat from.. she then goes to adam and says that the snake said it was good to eat so i ate it, you try it.. this just doesnt wash. for starters, the first thing eve would really have said is "adam, come check this out, its a talking snake.".
and even if she didnt, he would have said "what, a talking snake, this i gotta see".

And get this. Then the bloody snakes legs fall off. HAHAHAHAHAHA

da judge j. f. rutherford had some rather bizarre ideas regarding many things, it is however quite rare to come across anything quite so strange as his opinion of the prohibition in the us in the twenties.
rutherford loved his booze and didnt take kindly to the prohibition.
in an article with the title prohibition published in the november 1, 1924 issue of the watchtower he really let it rip and showed his power of reason in full flight.
Well researched. You must have an excelent library at you disposal and a good quantity of time. Thanks
What ever happend to Salter. I imagine he wasn't very popular with "Judge Dread".

im passionately opposed to the unscriptural practice of disfellowshipping.
i believe that it preys on mankinds worse fears of being left alone, an outcast, a pariah shunned by ones own tribe, a person so reprehensible that even ones very existence is left unacknowledged.
its certainly not the invention of a caring creator, and as for it being a loving act for the dfd one, please dont insult my intelligence.. that being said, i wonder whether or not disfellowshipping can actually be a refuge for the disillusioned witness?

make comments like how your sex life has dramatically improved

just curious many say that the org monitors dbs, but anybody have concrete proof of this??
oh by the way at the recent ca dbs were mentioned from the platform!!!
the thought was "some jws were visting jehovahs witness discusssion boards and trying to correspond with some"...might not be exactly what was said(not an actual quote)...they mentioned put a doubt in your mind and start questioning your beliefs!!!
with all the confrontation/negativity on the board these last few weeks, maybe we all need to sit back and have a drink, or a cup of tea or coffee, if alcohol's not for you.. seriously, i'm not trying to pretend that i haven't gotten caught up in the negativity at times, or trivialize important issues/feelings, but things haven't been as fun, lately.
i've noticed a change even in the short time i've been posting.
i didn't start this topic to point fingers or to act like my opinion is somehow special, but wouldn't it be nice for all of us to see an increase in civility?.
Nover too depf charrgs fanks barrnam.
having been an infrequent visitor at best over the past few weeks, thought i'd write and let you know how i'm doing.. first of all, let me say thank you to all of you who have written to make sure i'm ok.. i was hoping not to develop a pregnancy migraine, but i got it.
i had it for almost a month with eden, and it's going on three weeks now.
i have barely been able to keep up with work.
LDH Thanks for asking . She is doing good. Bit of morning sickness (in the afternoon) but she is ok. I have to do more domestic stuff like cooking and hanging out washing but thats ok. We go for a scan on Monday. Let you all know how it is. She is big for two months and the doc thinks may be twins (Sorry I just had to go one better)

There is a downside to getting reinstated. Have to have that S--t eating smile every time you go to the Hall. Have to bend over and grasp you ankels every time the elders look at you. I got the last laugh though (1 Ti 5:22)
