Problems with Common Atheist Arguments

the reason i entitled this "problems with common atheist arguments" instead of "the case against atheism" is that many atheists claim that atheism is not a belief system, makes no claims, and has no requirements to follow, so there's no way to argue against atheism itself.

i will go along with this idea, and argue against the most frequently used arguments of atheists instead of atheism itself.disclaimer # 1: this is not an argument against atheism or all atheists.

Fusion, careful how you interact with your audience and learn from their mistakes. One area people shut down is when ignorant objectors resort to name calling, most people don't read their arguments unless their part of the choir. I enjoyed watching the smartest people engage at the highest level and still their do not resort to 6-9th grade name calling and insults like "your a retard!". Please do not attack people, like the detective seeking evidence and facts, think "Just the facts please" attitude.

There's people shunned because they stop using certain coded language we JWs used once upon a time. If they shun those using certain works like "Jesus Christ is my lord and Savior" how far do you honestly think your going to get dropping the name of Ray Franz whom they consider Satan's Second in command?

Your best bet is to slowly ask honest questions that won't throw their shields up, that's all we can tell you or share because they do not want the truth, it's a dream world of deception witnesses enjoy living in. Scary don't you think, they would rather live inside all their anxiety and depression and constant state of "Fear and fleeing humans don't do well with(PTSD starts with constant fight or flight.)

Would you warn your neighbors if a child molester lived on your street?

just found out that someone who lives 4 doors down was convicted of molesting a 4 year old child twice.

the second time was after he was arrested and released on bond from the first arrest.

having two 4 year old children living in my home, i am concerned.

Yes I would and I have time after time only to have a Jehovah Witness take all the warning materials down. There's a group that counts Field Service time taking down the signs people put up, I think the best course of action would be to get a big sign!

Why don't people in the US, UK or Euro-Citizens know anything about Jehovah's Witness Pedophile Issues and lawsuits?

i know you all are aware of how little knowledge people have about jehovah's witnesses and topics men like bob bowen and women like barbara anderson tried to raise the level of public awareness that "the jehovah witness coming to your door might be a pedophile or child molester!

" what's gone wrong, has the society outsmarted the media or do people not really care what happens to young children?

if you took a survey trying to ascertain how many people walking through the grocery store, a target or upper class stores nordstroms, your going to be shocked how little people know.. if it's about the catholic church, those numbers shot through the ceiling, is this because there is no problem in the new world watchtower order or their better at damage control?

Why do you think that is?

This make's me sick to my stomach thinking all the hard work done by Barbara and Joe, Bob Bowen has not made a dent because people are too busy on their Smart Phones or looking at Kitten and Puppy Videos to care about the truth. What's wrong with our World, are we doomed because people don't care?

If your attending the Kingdom Hall Meetings very few of us were asking the young ones to step up and pull our weight, we enjoyed doing all the work. If their going to lie, they might as well tell as big of lies as they can! I swear in several Congos, very few young ones were approached or even groomed(not like a pedophile's grooming) to do more things. They were too busy drinking at parties on their downtime, busy on judicial committees and faking Field Service and Regurgitating the Same Shitty Talks Outlines for decades, no time to help the youth!

I think there are a lot of Christians who can't forget all the atrocities and blood spilled through regimes claiming to have gotten rid of God. We hear about the "Millions of people burned at the stake or hung during the Witch Trials". I had someone who was a atheist telling me how the Puritans were responsible or killing "tens of thousands of people", if only 150 people were in prison and less than 40 were killed, where did the additional numbers come from?

The second area that troubles me, if the totals are carried in to Europe, that add to 200,000 to 300,000 depending on your sources you used. If 250,000 were killed during the Inquisition, as one author noted that's 250,000/ 300 years. The numbers on the Crusades don't add up to 100s of Millions, where are all these numbers coming from? The Crusades and Inquisitions don't add up to 100 Million, where are these numbers from? The Children's Crusade's was the worst by far, and still I can't find sources showing the massive numbers given by people.

It bothers the atheist when people try to bring in Mao, Pol Pot, Stalin and many more Regimes consolidating power under their godless Communistic Regimes. More people were killed under these regimes than Religious Regimes according to different sources.

How are we suppose to look at the 67 million to 75 million (Russians).

China had it's own share, it's about 50 to 65 million to, the United States Senate had a report done and they estimated near 65 million in China.

Cambodia killed off 1/3 of it's population, how are Christians and religious people suppose to forgive the groups that allowed Mad Men like these to take control and kill more people in the name of "Godlessness' than Religion of Christ did in 2000 years?

Most professional Philosophers are now agreeing if your bringing forward the claim "God does not exist", this requires proof by you too. Arguments do demand each party share a burden, why people are not picking up on this, I don't understand why both sides are not understanding each has a responsibility. Your the one making the statement "God does not exist, therefore you do have the burden of proof to make sure your audience is provided proof or best reasons why it's true.

One thing to take note of, many atheist debaters are getting away from 'the problem of evil" because that assumes there is evil"

Here's a interesting article, Christians are upset at all the deaths that happened under the name of "No God", it's hard for them to forget too. Dawkins is upset about the deaths by false Christians, we get upset when people kill and follow leaders that teach "God is dead!"

I know we were told to focus on "Informal Witnessing", "Supermarket and Cart Witnessing" because the territory was becoming a waste of time. In Malls their allowed a literature table near the dark-side, its near the bathrooms and out of the main traffic flow so they don't bother anyone by offending patrons.

To break down the most effective witnessing methods here's how things at our Kingdom Hall, you must remember each method is greatly embellished plus the hours we are receiving to send to the Organization are not factual, they are fake or as the World say's "They cooked the books".

1. Door to door has the largest time spent per hour.

2. Cart and Table Witnessesing, they sit on a chair in low traffic areas where very few people walk buy and sit.

3. Writing letters and Phone Calls are next and often those getting the letters will ask the Witness to stop sending letters because their throwing them away.

We had complaints at our Kingdom Hall by people who were very angry they were getting phone calls at 8:15 pm and letters of the elderly rambling about things that factually are not true that "the World is falling apart" so what kind of witnessing should they do if they feel like their not being productive?

The Assembly Parts are very unfair, they tell big Whoopers making the majority who care feel guilty. Stories and demos are shared, they hint that some how the more active Witnesses have ten or more Bible Studies because they are using ingenious methods of getting the householders eyes opened. If your a older witness how is this suppose to make you feel, guilty or not guilty? Perhaps your not using "ingenious methods to communicate God's Organization's method of teaching the eye opening truth!" How many times did you visit the friends who were severely depressed because they hear about all the success the men and women using their spiritual riches are doubling the Master's talents he gave each steward while their stuck at home unable to multiply all his riches, it's not fair to each of the member of the group to get kicked why their feeling down.

Did Jason B Dunn say the "New World Translation is the most accurate translation there is?" Why make a new Bible than?

the circuit overseer mentioned something about the nwt being the most accurate translation according to professor jason b dunn, i heard this nonsense before but never really dug deep in to this topic because non of us really had a choice as jws but to accept all their random musing of our uneducated leaders as factual.

1. if the new world translation was the picture perfect translation of all the bibles and we went door to door telling everyone we had the "most honest bible", why did they change it to a paraphrased version?

what success have you had getting jehovah's witnesses to address why they tinkered with the new world translation, it was suppose to be the best translation and now it's turned in to a very loose paraphrased version.

Why did they make a new Bible if the NWT was perfect in the views of Bible Scholars like Jason b Dunn(that's what they claim, we know better). The fact is nobody is getting any rational answers on their new loose paraphrased Bible, the very same style they attacked the NLT, and other Bible Societies for creating such Paraphrased versions. How come it's ok, its good for them to "do as we say, not as we do!" method of theology? Nobody has provided any sound reasons why the NWT was discarded and replaced with a loosely altered version full of bias, have you heard why the NWT was considered "out dated or "out of service"?

What's the Watchtower's latest view on "The End" or "The Second Coming of Jesus Christ"? Most act like its not coming!

what's the official position of the watchtower about the last days, are we in them or are we going to wait another 2,000 years like the jews believe?.

i remember arguing at work with friends that nostradamus end date of 3000 was wrong, are there other past prophets you know of who predicted the world's end past our time?.

fish, what about the "generation" starting with Russia's Sputnik? The Governing Body had a letter showing they might use that to give more time for the "generation that will not pass away.". Are you familiar with that letter or New Light they might release when they realized the "generation of 1914" was quickly dying off? I am trying to learn as much as I can, truth is a journey throughout life, not some pit-stop along the way. If you used Sputnik's launch as the beginning of their "generation", what time would that allow you to stop at?
