i'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).
and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!
The current Governing Body is directly descended from appointees by vote of men, who were directly descended from appointees by vote of men, and so on until you reach the corporate heads of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society started by C.T. Russell. At no time did God choose the Governing Body. They chose themselves. Since God never chose them, their doctrine has never been subject to God's oversight or correction. Any corrections in doctrine that have occurred have taken place as a result of votes by a small group of men God never appointed to that task.
Good point AS, one has to consider the religiously clouded mind to see why the JW's don't understand this. The "ABBA" theory as, I like to refer to it, is one scripture they point at to prove the "god chose them" stance. A collective of individual delusional minds saying "I am chosen by God" how does one disprove another?s thoughts?

i read in another thread, that elders are using the permissions granted in the new blood card, ( to access medical records) to do "pastoral care visitation" on witless patients who were stupid enough to grant access to medical records by elders.. it is basically an excuse to find out who is toeing the line on the blood issue.
conscience?
my sphincter!!.

I haven't heard this one yet. I wouldn't have even let ME into my medical records never mind other buffoons milling through them. Insurance companies are bad enough. I just can?t imagine why anyone would allow mostly under educated men to view anything so personal, well blind obedience to WT rules I guess.

the thread on jws and hobbies got me to thinking about this, one of my basic disagreements with witness thinking.
the wts always seemed to be dividing activities into those that were "spiritual," and those that weren't.
in witness-land, going to meetings, praying, going out in field service and personal bible study were basically considered the only "spiritual activities.
I see what you mean S4 the WT makes me run from things considered "spiritual" by them. On the other hand I also avoid other "spiritual" realms of thought at the same time although having an understanding of what some might be.
I consider religious spirituality can be a plague for me, maybe issues of WT exploitation still linger, but labeling calm or compassionate thoughts as "spiritual" I can understand.

dear brothers,.
you might want to consider this letter in the 'questions from readers' section of the watchtower.. my question is this: i would like to join the catholic church and at the same time keep my standing and position in the congregation!
the reason being is that i have heard that the vatican has a very good and complete library which i would like to avail myself of.
"Answering in behalf of the WTS"
You pissant only we can do that.
bear with me.
where i live i have a large park under my window.
the park has a basketball court, a children's playground.
- Is it possible that they took the place of "games" that nonJW men enjoy?
- Did they have to take all the time that they did or was there a lot of gabbing going on.
Not for me, I'm more for mechanized sports. I do think some elders thoroughly enjoyed the back room meetings because they would drag on with the most mundane s%&t you wouldn’t believe. Can you picture an extremely dim witted man in a cheap suit acting like CEO running peoples lives? Then you can imagine an elders meeting.

jeff started a thread today which got me thinking.
many ppl here say they were hunted down by the elders, with the intent of having them dfd.
now if you are a ex elder, did you ever do that??.
I believe most were similar to me, if you liked the person and they played "the game" and got along well without stirring the pot more would be kept quiet. If they were just annoying pains in the ass or disliked for any reason there ass was grass and the elders would be the lawn mower.
It was just a matter of opinion with a hint of skewed scripture thrown in for emphasis that really gave people the shaft.

my ccw instructor was not very encouraging about 3rd party defense by a ccw holder.
he said that it was not only risky because too often you (the ccw holder) don't know the whole story and you could make a big mistake.
in addition, there's the risk that you could act in defense of a stranger, only to find out the stranger is horrified by you having a gun, and could say something to the cops that screws you over (even if you've acted within the bounds of the law).. given that the society's published attitude about guns as defense, is that christians "reject magic and weapons as tools of protection," how willing would you be to act in defense of a jw that a) you didn't know [you saw them being attacked on the street] or b) you did know?
If your ever in a position to draw your firearm and took the time to determine who was a JW, it would most likely be over before you knew it.

as most informed jehovah's witnesses know, the wtbts is very good at painting a pretty picture of themselves by cleverly wording things to outsiders, yet not revealing the specifics of their beliefs.. below is an example from their official website regarding whether or not they shun members who choose to leave them.
they do not tell the public of the interogation they impose on members who wish to quietly leave ( fade ).. notice they mention how they are more than happy to restore those who exit, but fail to mention the types of questions they ask to those who leave them.. while they admit they shun those who verbally express they no longer wish to be a jehovahs witness, they do not tell the public they coerce that very statement from those who try to leave peacefully and quietly.

I use shunning tactics on deceitful nutsacks.
