is if they are not going to heaven and will stay on the earth as "eunuchs" are they "princes" since they cannot die anymore and arent supposed to go to heaven, so sayeth the wtb$??
and if the mate goes thru armageddon , apparently they will not live as husb and wife anymore ... any one out there with some insight on this?
Narkissos:
I double checked - the one I have is "The Septuagint with Apocrypha: Greek and English by Sir Lancelot C.L.Brenton and in it it says:
"From the 4th century and onward, we know of no definite attempt to revise the text of the Septuagint, or to correct the discrepancies of various copies. It is probable, however, that just as the text of the Greek New testament became in a great measure fixed into the same form, as we find it in the modern copies, something of the same kind must have been the case of the Septuagint. As to the Greek New Testament, this seems to have occurred about the eleventh century, when the mass of copies were written within the limits of the patriarchate of Constantinople."
So I guess its out there, now to find it

Oompa -- sounds like you are wishing -- in your posts you say you have a great wife -- I dont think she would want you to have any side action!
Me a concubine - never thought of that one.. I dont think so - not built for it
Narkissos-like your interjections, makes sense - comes down to it, we really dont know - I will be checking it out in the NT Greek to see what play on wording there is, I just checked with Blue Letter Bible.com for this particular scripture and one translation said " marriage is for the earth".... The greek Interlinear intro that is right now on my kitchen table states that many changes were made from original texts that were written in Hebrew so I guess when it comes down to it, do we know exactly what was meant after so many translated the scriptures? Jesus may have spoken more on this subject but until we get there, if we do or I should say, I do, I guess we will know... its a quandry thats for sure

I have to admit I kinda laughed at your response, cause its right on but your flowery language hit me funny..
I am not in a position to know your situation but I wish you the best in life - looks like you r a newbie -- hi - I havent been on too long myself
Its your life and you have to have that personal relationship with God and pray things will get better, if not, make the best move for the kids and yourself - life is funny, things eventually work out... sometimes its a long, hard process.. and even tho I have a lot of questions on this scripture, my husband just died recently and this scripture is bothering me somewhat as we did have a great marriage
I know that I can wait to see what will happen in the new system - he will open his hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing - I guess until we get there, we wont know how extensive this scripture is
All the best
i asked my jw friend (who is my best friend, and i hers, long story, don't ask how it's possible) a question about matthew 22:23. actually, i asked her the same question the sadducces asked jesus.. long story short, she couldn't really answer me, but asked a couple follow up questions.
so, i have a question for you guys, since she wasn't really sure.
does the watchtower still teach that people will be married after the resurrection if they are part of the great crowd?.
I also have a question on this running at Luke 20 - see my info on this one, which isnt much at this point, but its funny it is running at the same time your question is running..
I know what the WT says but if a husband or wife dies and the living partner does not want to remarry but maybe hold on for the new system in hopes they will see the loved one again, so be it.. however the question I have is they cannot die anymore - they are immortal, if they live by Gods new guidelines therefore when do they become as angels?? Before the 1,000 yr reign or after? Before the final test or after? We are told that the resurrection will begin probably a few hundred years after the Gt Tribulation - if thats the case, it says those resurrected will be as the angels, neither marry not be given in marriage so that means they will be like the angels before the final test... right or wrong? There will be a resurrection of both righteous and unrightious - at what point are they declared immortal?
If they are like the angels, they are sexless - are they just workers in the new system? I know there are no further info on the Bible but thinking about this subject seems to indicate it first looked like it pertained to the 144,000, now it is referenced to those on the earth..
and yes, if the married partners go thru., the WT says they will be the ones blessed to have children -- until when??? who knows... no info on this point

Thanks Narkissos, I just lost my mate and this got me to thinking of this scripture..
Blondie - I guess my point is that some on the board get into the Greek, Hebrew, etc. and I was wondering if there is another rendering of these scriptures to throw in any different perspective.. True, God can erase anyone at any time, He has the power and will do so for those who do not follow the new guidelines, yet those who do "make it" have the honor of immortality on the earth. This then begs the question, are they immortal before the end of the 1,000 year reign and will they need to be tested if they can no longer die? I guess it depends on WHEN they become as angels and cannot die..
Palmtree 67 - looks like we r in the same boat

Blondie
What say you on the fact they cannot die anymore?? If they are in the new system, being resurrected, what about the test at the end of the 1000 year reign... that looks like they will pass the test without being tried...
If they cannot die anymore, wouldnt that mean they would be in heaven, since being like the angels, that is the place they should end up?
Hi 007 - just trying to figure it all out

Hi Blondie:
The WTBS says that those who die before armageddon and are awaiting resurrection, will be, upon resurrection, as Luke 20 says, like the angels, neither married nor given in marriage ,they will then not die anymore, so what are they, Princes on the earth, living as eunuchs, since they cannot marry--- and what happens to the sad mate, who wont be able to love this person again, in a sexual manner? Do they go their separate ways in the new system.. I cant see why we are living together for years in this system, but cant in the new one, and if one looks at the great number of people who have died and will be resurrected, there will be billions on earth who will be in this position, not being married or able to marry but be as the angels, not dying anymore..
just recently before the book study was cancelled, a young man started coming into my mom's home for the same.
she was alarmed and asked the elders, to please have him go to the kh for the study.
they ignored her worries and he continued to attend at her home.
Maybe there has been some issues along this line and that is perhaps, another reason why the home book studies were dropped.. the new member wont go to the hall for field service if they are bogus, but maybe would go to the hall for the meetings??????
just a thought --
