  given the wt society's view on women, did any of you ladies gave up on the idea of getting married "in the truth".

  Your non wine--tness parents would be allowed at your wedding,th e more witness they can give to a worldly person. wow! and here they are in the hall- they cant leave so have to sit through the ceremony - the jw you would marry could have association with those parents-- just attended a memorial for a young gal who was living with a guy, a non witness, yet her mom had studied, and the talk was given by an elder to a packed crowd of worldlies - about 200.... they received a sermon about 20 minutes in length....

  so wherever you are living, some things have changed depending on the elders

  and yes, I am single and loving it - keep busy otherwise

  Am I to understand this right, sales and acquisition of halls and remodeling must now be approved by the "branch" not locally?

  Sorry to day but the halls in this area are almost overflowing most days.. a differenet picture than at least 8 months ago.. we were only getting about 50% and it looked dire but now, some thing is changing.. don't ask me what

  Does anyone know how many were disfellowshipped because of "Inspired Errors"... all the old reference books have been destroyed except what you can obtain from the internet... all the halls have gotten rid of the old books -- even the cd's only go hack to recent times... So now, does the society even think of the lives destroyed over their inspired errors and false teachings??

  Feeling rejected

  just a little disclaimer: english isn't my first language (i'm from france) thus the poor writing skills.here is the situation: i'm not a jw.

  however, i'm in the process of becoming one.

  in fact, i'm studying with the jw's, and i'll proceed to become an unbaptized publisher as soon as i finish the first book.to make a long story short i was introduced to the truth when i was 18een.

  If you feel guilty because the sister "caught" you with her brother, think how you would feel if someone gave you a hug... you don't want to feel guilty because of an innocent act.... actually, it has been said from the WT that even married persons should not hold hands in the hall, nor should one hug the person of the opposite sex, even though many nationalities have expressions of greetings such as this....

  Just a thought - don't feel guilty..

  Changes and why

  so far these are all the recent changes i know of, please add more if i have missed anything.. 1. all construction projects have either been stopped or reduced.. 2. all bethels are downsizing by at least 20% within one year of the announcement, and almost certainly more in years to come.. 3. remaining belelites will have to make their own food, do their own washing and cleaning.. no more laundry department, no more kitchen and waiters, no more housekeeping!.

  and you still only get 80 per month, but no rent or bills, and food will be provided in the family fridge but you have to prepare it yourself.. as to why, it has been said several times officially its not because of a lack of funds, but how could that possibly be the truth?.

  In Canada, there was a letter read just a month ago that they wanted the cong to ante up $8.75 per pub to cver co expenses, travel and insurance???? Whats up in the US??

  Special Pioneer Sister-in-Law and Husband just got their letter.

  well, my sister-in-law and her husband, special pioneers for only a couple of years, just got their letter.. her comment was along the lines of, "they're having to do this because they forgave all those kingdom hall loans a few years ago and the brothers aren't donating anymore.".

  when my wife told me, i laughed so hard i farted.

  I mentioned that these ones being let go would arrive back in the congregations without jobs or money as they took a vow of poverty and probably worked 20 -30 years at bethel without upgrades - but the reply was they could probably go into cleaning or something like that.... I told her no pension, no money from the society for start up funds, nothing but the congregation and relatives to support them until they got on their feet -- a lot of angst will be seen on this board unless they are so brain dead they truly believe everything is ok ..

  All I can see is terrible disillusionment - for those not realizing what is going on, it will be devasting, but hey -maybe that's is what is meant to be!!

  Assembly baptisms/attendance - keep 'em coming!

  don't forget to post your reported assembly and convention attendance and baptisms and whether they are higher or lower than customary (if you know).. here's some detail passed to me of the last circuit assembly held at surrey (uk) assembly hall.. attendance 922 baptisms 3 (half circuit).
