Don't know, but it seems the seats are getting fuller at the hall -- granted we have had 4 pioneers move in, but those who were always missing at meetings seem to be wandering back most of the time now. No new ones with one exception.

Relatives who work in Warwick are visiting
by cappytan inso i have some relatives who work in warwick visiting us this week.
the visit has been largely drama free.
they came between meeting days, so the subject of going to the meetings never came up.. however, they have been talking about the "downsizing.".

Local needs last night was the video on the www and the special pioneers and the hall building -- and requesting again more money to contribute to the www..
No mention of the downsizing or the fact the SP are all going to the field now, especially the older ones... looks like they don't want the medical costs involved with those getting up there, but are still requesting the younger ones to come to bethel... joke!

Peer presure to use Ipad
by Gorbatchov inearlier this season i advised my retired father to ignore the use of a tablet during his kingdom hall congregational visits.
his response was hopefull, but between the lines i could hear he had no choice.. yesterday he showed me his new 600 euro 64 gb ipad air 2. he had no clue what he has to do with it, he told me one of the elders will install the jw.org apps.. so, i feel he had to deal with presure to buy this ipad and i think he is not the only one.. do you recognize this?.

I did not have to buy an Ipad -- there are a lot of good units out there, I originally had an Asus -- but now I went to Walmart and got a Hipstreet for $115.00 and it works great - 2 year warranty-- can download anything and its 32 gb - you can get a 64 gb but with a 32 that is all you need. Look around -- no need to go high priced, after all they are electronics and can quit anytime...
The Hipstreet is smooth, faster than the Asus -- has 5.0 and is a quad 4

(they are not mentioned in the 2013 release) but you and i both know that their wordings in scripture remain in the new release.. if you check their background, you will find some serious issues with these translators which the society used.
has anyone googled wh for their spiritual qualifications to include them in the nwt??

I did not say WH was a translation, I said it was used in the translation by the society ... but I wondered if there was any history of WH being inspired, etc. to be used by them to put out that translation ... there has never been anyone listed as being used as translators, knowing Greek, Hebrew, etc. There have been rumors but never any fact out of the society.

I thought that since the CO was the decision maker re the choosing of an elder now based on congregation elders appointing new elders, that the society had removed themselves from the equation and left the CO out to hang if such cases were to occur.....setting the congregation elders up for loss of home, etc.
along with the congregation and the hall
Somewhat along Contis settlement since the congregations, the elders and the society was listed as defendants

When you are young are trained to respect the "older men" - never to question what they do - keep humble - brother this and brother that- low education - low self esteem -- then the field is ripe to be abused... that is not your fault!
Everything that has happened was not your fault - every day you will get stronger, you will stand tall, you can overcome... the despair will make way for some happiness, not always, but there are going to be times when you feel as if you have conquered those fears.
The distrust you feel will probably always be with you but that can be a protection as well... many things happen throughout our lives and we can learn and grow from that. Many wishes to you and your will to challenge those who have controlled and manipulated your life. You are now free from that grip and willing to so something about it. That takes guts!! All the best.
