  Your feelings for the former travelling overseers

  during our wt life we met a good number of friends involved in the circuit and district work.

  i am sure that we share the same experience and that we remember fondly some that we caring, loving and generally interested in the brothers.

  at the same time we might remember others that were arrogant, selfish, abusive and oppressive.

  Gone were the days that CO/DO's had to eke out a living -- stayed in homes, worked hard in service, eating at a different home and sleeping in different beds, accepting little monies from the folks who had little, Wives who for the sake of the word, put up with all the changes - men accommodate these changes far better than a woman....

  Today we see, arrogance, company boys, hardliners, youthful , toeing the party line, speaking with the same monotone voice as those at bethel, driving new cars, charging back congregations, insurance plans, apartments in KH or one just having at $250,000.00 apt addition to the hall - looks like something out of a Better Homes book

  And with the green handshakes, many have more money in the bank that most poor publishers, along with some rental apartments for their pension years.... tell me about it!!!

  Un-****ing-Believable

  just a few observations from this morning.

  .. this morning as i was trying to choke back the bile that kept wanting to come up during the wt study one comment in particular screamed cult.. towards the very end as comments were being made about "counseling" others with "gracious" words one of the uber-dub minstral-serpents made this comment, "we see in the last image that the brother is holding a bible as he counsels the other brother.

  we look closely at the picture and we can know exactly what he is counseling the brother about.

  Oh wait-- did you pick up the well meaning sister who counseled a mother of a son who was somewhat wayward?????

  Laid it on the SINGLE mother that SHE FAILED at child training!!! I could just hear myself listening to that and tearing her face off..... how dare she..........a well meaning sister!!! Not on your life... that was a terrible callous remark meant to hurt a single mother who probably has to work her a... off to keep the kid in clothes, food , etc. and take crap from him at the same time

  Jw org Automatic Downloads

  as many are aware, the society automatically downloads a years worth of programs on a 32 gb tablet --or whatever you have -- using up space.... without permissions i may add... yet i cant get rid of the old copies on there, does anyone know how to delete them - i have downloaded them then clicked on the delete button, away it goes from the download page but when i go back to the original page that the download comes from, it is still there to download again... so i repeat the process and same thing happens....... .

  Should this Body of elders be considered blood guilty?

  over the weekend a very nice, caring individual was killed in a car accident after meeting.

  she was 32 y/o and has a 3 year old daughter.

  her husband was driving home from meeting when his car slid off the road, came back on the road, and was broad sided by a truck.

  Its true, they focus on meeting attendance, but where I live, and its snowing or road is icy, home is where I stay!! I don't need a call to tell me something may go wrong.. and my car is well equipped ....... common sense plays a big part..... Maybe the husband was controlling enough to say they were going to the meeting... who knows, an accident is an accident, .... especially with a 3 year old, where were their two heads??? She may have been so under the thumb that she didn't think for herself in this matter.....

  Yet so many are brain washed, its a terrible thing when you give your common sense over to others... Gerrnany was a good example in WW2 - and that was a whole nation or 99 percent of it was

  I know I would not be travelling to a hall that is 50 miles or kilometers away for a 1 hour 45 min meeting......... so they may be seeing a decrease in their average pub number next year if this keeps up.. its bad enough you are travelling farther to the conventions now which is costing more, and the economy getting worse....

  Yet in the latest Yearbook they show an increase in congregations to feed the pubs.... because, all these congregations are being "fed" in one hall with 2 - 4 congregations per hall... what an increase!!! They are selling off publisher paid and kept brick and mortar buildings and dispersing them to the boonies.... what ever happened to gas savings (even though it is lower today than previous)..... there has to be a law!! Where is it?? Somebody on board must be a lawyer that can get together a class action suit.... anybody??

  Midweek meeting

  almost two months into the change in format of the mid week meeting from the school and service meeting format to the christian life and ministry (clam) format.

  in my congregation, seems attendance is down 10-15% over the normally low attendance for the mid week meeting before the change.

  some indicate that the meeting under the clam format is very "intense"...you really need to study and research to be able to participate or get anything out of the meetings.

  No change in attendance that is noticeable -- some moving out -- and yes! Elders are to be positive to keep the cong upbeat and excited about the "work"....
