Here is an interesting arcticle from a group of creationist geologists not affiliated with the Watchtower Society. The writers have Phd's from accredited secular universities and one of them (John Baumgartner) had a write up in U.S. News and World Report and is considered to be an expert in geological computer modeling. Generally when an arcticle defending the Bibles account of the flood is presented on this forum, the scientists who wrote the information will come under some form of personal attack by those here who hate the Bible. Don't be deterred by ad-hominem attacks.

WHERE DID ALL THAT WATER GO?
by MYOHNSEPH inas i recall, "the society" at one time taught the flood waters of noah's day came from an immense canopy of water, which formed sometime during creation and hovered above the earth until it all broke loose in the flood.
o.k., cool.
but does anyone know of an explanation of where it all went afterwards?

rem, it is pointless for us to have anymore discussions as you are blinded to even simple statements. Therefore I do not wish to waste the time that the Lord Jesus Christ has given me on this earth. I no longer will be dialoguing with you.
I would also suggest to any other followers of the Lord Jesus to consider that they may be spoiling (in continuing to rebuke a one such as rem) some of their time which could otherwise be used profitably in the service of the Lord Jesus.

Matthew 1:21-23
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, [3] because he will save his people from their sins."
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" [4] --which means, "God with us."Edited by - hooberus on 22 January 2003 14:58:38

rem, your comments regarding Matthew 1:21-23 show you to be so blinded that you can't even realistically discuss what the scriptures say, let alone what they mean.

A great book discussing the scriptural, and messianic evidence, as well as external evidence for the fullfillment of the above prophesies in Jesus Christ is "The Trinity: Evidence and Issues" by Dr, Robery Morrey
He shows Old Testament passages were interpreted by the Jews as applying to the messiah before the New Testament was written. This shows that the passages were indeed messianic. He also gives external evidence for their fullfillment in Christ.

Jesus is not called Immanuel in the NT.Yawn... many of these have been dealt with before. All one needs to do is actually read thescriptures in question to see that they are not prophecies at all. Yet these prophecy lists continue to circulate even though they have absolutely no evidence to back them up.
rem
Actually rem if you had "actually read that scriptures in question" that Swedish posted (Matthew 1:23) you would see that Jesus is called Immanuel (Emmanual KJV) in the NT.

The "remnant" admire the wild beast
by hooberus in"the wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction.
and when they see how the wild beast was, but is not, and yet will be present, those who dwell on the earth will wonder admiringly, but their names have not been written upon the scroll of life from the foundation of the world.

This time their own publications prove that they are not the "TRUTH"
I think that the above league quote is probably the most damaging single quote from past WT publications that I have run across. Especially when compared to Revelation 17:8 (The WT has stated that Rev. 17:8 represents the League of Nations)
This quote (I believe) is probably more effective than United Nations scandal information as it comes from their own publications rather than UN lists etc.

Also Revlation 14:5 says that the remnant will tell no lie
However a 1971 Watchtower arcticle said the "Jehovahs Witnesses have consistently exposed the League for what it is" This aslo disproves the Watchtower Leaders claim to be of the remant because they are lying about their past beliefs.

Comments: Since the Watchtower leaders wondered admiringly the Leage of Nations their names could not have been written upon the scroll of life from the fiundation of the world, hense they could not have been true members of the 144,000 of the book of Revelation.
