I was running an old Cincinnati Mill that was probably dated to the 1940's. This Mill possibly made parts to support the troops during WW2. It is very old, and I wasn't used to running it. I was cutting keyways in a 2.500 inch diameter shaft, and thought I had put the table feed in neutral after touching off the part. I set my X axis and stuck my thumb up there to see if the cutter had made a mark on the front of the shaft. The table feed was moving so slow I didn't notice, and the 5/8 endmill crept up on me spinning 280 RPM.
