  Help! My parents are addicted to this site!

  hey all,.

  just thought i'd check out all the hoopla with this site.since i can't phone home without my parents being on here and talking to me at the same time.. anyone elses parents huge apostates?

  i keep telling my mom my dad she write a book on jw's,all he needs are some good typing skills and he'd be off.. i am wondering if anyone knows about any support groups for addicted computer users?

  Super Girl, I didn't take the time to read all of the posts in this thread. I don't care, I want to talk to you.

  It is evident to me that being hung up on apostisism is as bad as being a JW. I came to this forum to meet people that have the same past as me. Not many do.

  Supergirl, you don't have to be an apostate because your parents are. Hating the witnesses is a disfunction. I can't think of anything worse than following in the footsteps of a family that devotes tons of time to a forum that hates the Witnesses.

  I personally came here because I like talking to people that experienced the same things. But I have found many have not, and they look for a reason to hate the JW's and they have very little else to make them feel worthy.

  I am glad this site is going to disappear. I see good in JW's and I try to avoid the hate that is present here. I think people that spend their time hating are people that will always be sad.

  I will miss you super apostate girl. Don't listen to your parents. Find your own way. You shouldn't have to inherit their bitterness towards the WTS. Life is too short for the mentality common to this forum.

  though not explicitly stated, there seems to be allusion to a population outside of the garden of eden.

  if the words of genesis 1:28 is correct, could this be considered evidence of a prior population?.

  The NWT uses "fill' opposed to "replenish" the earth. I think you used the King James Version. But that is besides the point.

  Comparing any translation of the Bible to Science falls short in many ways. To begin with, the 6 days of creation appears to be six literal days. The JW's don't agree with that, but the wording says otherwise. Every Creative day ends with "and there came to be a morning and an evening." Every creative day was a literal day. That doesn't correspond with the history of planet Earth.

  one thing i really hate.

  the wbts basically says that if your child does not grow up a productive members of jehovah's witnesses, in spite of everything else they may be capable of achieving, you fail as a parent.

  this bothers me.

  My Dad was an Elder and Presiding Overseer of the Congregation. I left home for good at sixteen, and my Dad was demoted to Ministerial Servent after years of being an Elder. Because he "couldn't lead his family" he supposedly "couldn't lead the congregation". That made him disown me, his son. I was never baptised or disfellowshipped. I attended the memorial 6 months after I left home, and they chose that night to announce from the platform that I was no longer a Publisher. All of my friends names were announced the same night. I have no idea how that was relevant to the Memorial Observance of Christ.

  The Society really punishes parents for not keeping their children in the fold.

  This Nathan Unger is obviously someone who trys very hard to sound legitimate and uses language to make him seem intelligent and worth listening to. I couldn't tolerate the first couple sentences, so have no idea what other things he went on to say. I just saved myself some wasted time.

  that comes from 'syn' meaning together and 'aisthesis' meaning sensation. For instance, you can hear colors or feel sounds. There is a really

  good book about this called "The Man Who Tasted Shapes" by Richard E. Cytowic, M.D. It sounds like this artist may be experiencing this.

  to his blindness, makes me think he is a blind synesthete where his senses of sight and touch combine. Amazing!

  If there is water ice on mars then it is likely that there was once liquid water on mars back when mars had a magnetic field and a much thicker atmosphere.
