i don't usually post regarding my personal relationship, but i need some help.. i've been married for 20+ years (married young, both of us raised as witnesses), and my wife and i have kids.

my wife feels like i've disappointed her, made a fool of her, and betrayed her when i stopped being a witness.

other than the witness-thing we seem to have a pretty good marriage, but she can't get over the fact that i'm never going to be a witness again.

this is the recent comments on an article i wrote about jws and thanksgiving.

i find it interesting when you get the warrior witness who starts throwing hellfire and making statements and does not back it up.

nor will they answer any questions you throw at them.

John Ekran was my table head at The farm and he was head of the computer department. His wife died of Cancer I think.

Did you play tackle football as a good little JW?

in my town we did.

each congregation had its own "pick up" team.

we would get together and play on a chosen sunday after the meetings.

We also had a great time playing ball and traveling to play other halls. But it all came to a screeching halt when the elders gave local needs parts on it because a few did get hurt. You can get hurt doing anything, though.

You know it was a great way to blow off some off some steam and let loose if even for just a while. Take out some frustration on those other good dub pals we had.

You know in the real college and NFL players on some teams are told not to have sex or anything to chill them out before a game. JW players would have made great college or NFL players wouldn't you agree.

Begging for money at Bethel

the thread about the circuit assembly accounts and where the money goes reminded me of one time when we were at bethel.. we were at bethel between 1991 to 1994, there had been some problem in another country and at morning worship they asked all of us bethelites to put in at least one dollar a person to send to the brothers in this problem country.. at the time my husband and i just did not have it.

we only got $90 a person so $180 a couple.

ok i know we had a free place to live but we still had to pay for car gas to the hall our car insurance, air conditioning, shampoo, clothes, etc.

When I was at Bethel (April '95 - October '97) First year at patterson and then Wallkill, we worked all the time. Hardly made any meetings and we were always behind. When I was traded to Wallkill and lost in the system for 6 months I was told that we were 1 year behind. Did I mention it rained all the time and when you work outside that is a bitch.

I had three near miss accidents on the job whereby I could have been injured very badly or even dead.

Looking back.....a complete waste of time, except for the parties and drinking. The only thing that would have made it better was sex.

Ah, my wasted youth.
