WT Indulging In Nostalgia, Soliciting Memorabilia; What's Up?

you may have notice in a recent kool-aid watchtower, the announcement of its creation at headquarters of an archive of photos, objects, memorabilia, etc.

i noticed that the lavishly upgraded assembly hall in buckingham, pa. now display in the lobby, glass cases with all sort of such objects.

it wasn't long ago when they disparaged nostalgia as the preoccupation of spritually bankrupted wordlings who, bereft of any hope for the future, pitiably cling to memories of the "good old days"..... what's up with jehovah's "forward looking" people??

They have to get attendance up somehow, why not start a museum to attract those to conventions. Oh sounds like that is what they are already doing.

i know jehovah's witnesses can have firearms for defense, but does the church ever attempt to set guidelines on the use of deadly force?

also, are there jurisdictions in the church where handgun ownership is frowned upon?.

sexual harrassment suits were running wild in american businesses throughout the 1990s, the end result was "sensitivity training" and forcing mangers to sign contracts that revealed "we understand sexual harrassment is bad!

if i touch a girl, i get sued and the company is free!".

elder's are now trained to handle every situation that can possibly come up, if a lawsuit emerges, the elders are sued and the watchtower, at their discretion can defend their elders if they feel it is to their best interest.

Friends, as we enter these last days, Satan and his minions are ever increasingly trying to take those very possessions that Jesus entrusted to his faithful slave. It is their intent to rob that slave so that when their master comes to inspect they have nothing to show him. Although Satan knows this will not work he will try anything out of despraration since the end is so close.

So then faithful brothers and sisters now is the time to help that faithful slave fight these evil forces not by physical means but with our valuable things. Every effort has been made to pool our resources into this battle front. Yet more is needed. We know that you will answer the call to battle.

Jehovah will not forget you and your efforts. Take for example Rita, a sister who has been faithful since 1968. She was in a laundry mat and picked up a Watchtower entitled "Is It Later Than You Think." That was a day that changed her life. As soon as possible she entered the pioneer ranks and has done so ever since.

She lives in the same home she received in the divorce from her husband when he left her because of her faith. Last year after a Service Meeting part on honoring God with our valuable things she felt that she had a choice to make, use the $8,000, all the money she had, to do some needed repairs on her home or donate the money toward a life saving work. Our sister made her decision and after she had made this heartfelt donation to Jehovah's Organization an application arrived in the mail for people with special needs regarding major repair issues with their homes.

She filled out the application and long story short Jehovah provided over $16,000 in repairs to her home, double the amount she had the ability to make. Truly, a magnificient reward for honoring Jehovah with her valuable things.

So Brothers and Sisiters what can you do to help further this great work that will never be repeated in history? What can you do today in an effort to promote true worship?

Pray to Jehovah about using your time, energy, and treasure and talk to the elders in your area about doing more in his service.

See even an apostate can write this stuff. Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Baptisms decreased critical 26.9% in Mexico

for 2011, jws in mexico had the lowest baptism number in years, a critical 26.9% decrease from 2010. something is going there!?.

It is interesting that probably most congregations in Mexico & S. America probably have an elder body that actually has the courage to say NO and mean it. That puts the WTBTS at a loss of what to do.

When the majority of halls are displaying the same character then the Borg just has to go along with it and try to change things gradually not over night the way they deal with things here in the U.S. by just disbanding halls.

Recently heard rumor, can anyone substantiate?

so a friend of mine said that one of their family members told them the following:.

... was telling me last monday that entire congos were being dissovled due to individualized thinking.. .

now, i haven't heard anything specific, and if there were widespread rumors i'm fairly confident we would hear them here.

What a liability Billy this psycologist was really putting his license on the line. If you tol him something of a Judicial nature and he shared it that would be the basis for a slam dunk lawsuit. doctor patient priviledge.

I never thought I would

well.....what can i say...after lurking and much research and eventual signing up on this forum...i filled out my fs report for april with average hours and magazines, but i never went out in the ministry.. it feels odd, and i feel bad for filling out time that i knew i never did...i hate the idea of going out to people's door and telling them a lie...not sure how much longer i can do this for .

just had to vent!.

i used to be a prolific note taker during public talks, assemblies and conventions.

as i became more awake to the truth about the truth this died off.
