mine in kind of this order close give or take a few.. 1. the beatles.

2. led zeppelin.

3. pink floyd.

excepting muddy waters and buddy guy, my list is very similar to yours. I have a pretty good collection of most of those. Steve Miller is playing right now, Mellancamp, Dire Straights, Clapton. Man, it's tough narrowing it all down!

especially for not having a clergy class, they have all of the other ones, though!

but the sense of being awed by a man's presence is promoted, and this is his "pay." I don't mind looking up to, or answering to, another person, man or woman, but they will always have to earn my respect.

Especially for not having a clergy class, they have all of the other ones, though! What is the definition of clergy? "Persons ordained for religious service," according to Webster. As Minimus pointed out, he was a 9-year-old Minister, his baptism serving as his "ordination."

One brother, whom I respect to this day, explained to me that calling each other "brother" is actually a term of respect. Ever notice the way it is slipped onto a newly-associated one, like clerical garb, but sometimes way before any respect is due. Rather, it seems to be used to appeal to his needs..

Publishers, auxiliary pioneers, pioneers, MS's, elders, bethelites, CO's, DO's, special pioneers, missionaries. Not to mention all of the minute assignments that translate as levels of importance, light bulb changers, literature servant assistants etc, etc ad nauseum,...I mean, Holy Smokes! There is no end to the class distinctions!

But that's what organizations do...right? Organise.

OK, my good, good wife is out of town, I bought some decent brandy, a decent cigar, and put on some Donna Summer, slipped out onto the deck, lit up, and discovered what all the noise was about all of that. Nice. I haven't smoked since I quit, learning the truth, 35 years ago. I looked up at the sky, lightning bugs active, mosquitos leaving me alone, and thought about Jehovah and the Kingdom that He's promised. Nice.

I've posed this situation, hypothetically, to a few of my closest friends in the truth in the not-so-distant past. Is it "sin?" I've worked hard. I've done what I could, under my own circumstances, and raised my kids, provided for my family, tried to be an upbuilding influence in the congregation... is it sin deserving of disfellowshipping...because I don't FEEL guilty?! My friends, of course, are non-commital, but they can see my point. I guess I've always been a troublemaker.

I wouldn't recommend it to anybody, and I don't expect that it will become a "practice" of sin, unless once or twice a year constitutes "practice." And I don't expect that this will result in lung cancer or cirrhosis or even hypocrisy.

And I'm here. With you other troublemakers. How dare you actually think about the ins and outs of the thorny details that the WTB and TS has levied upon its' adherents?

So, the thing is, I'm a brother "in good standing." I can see myself, soon, talking with somebody about the better world that Jehovah has promised. So, what? I'm a sick puppy? Really, there are lots of really good people who go gaga over every little thing that some "governing body" decrees, but the really big stuff is internal, isn't it? And who you are and whether you mean well.

What am I doing, preaching to the choir?

JW's at Holocaust Museum

i recently returned from a vacation to washington dc.

while there i went to the holocaust museum.

i was sitting in the lobby area waiting for my ticket time to enter the main exhibit and doing some people watching.

apparently, there was a tour bus full of witnesses at the Holocost Museum the day the gunman shot the guard. Sure, the demons are having thier day...long stinking day!
