is suspending someone for the contents of their posts justifiable then?
Oh, and we practice shunning on yahoo chat. We call it GROUP IGNORE.
Sometimes we do it because someone comes in with boot codes trying to knock us out.
Sometimes we do it because someone is just scrolling and we cant see each other.
Sometimes we do it because someone comes in and says " DONT KNOCK AT MY DOOR MFERS..." gee dude never heard that one before..
Sometimes we do it to have fun and humiliate a new arrival.
Sometimes we do it to each other because we are just that way.

I am thinking mostly of 3...and that is what JWs do. While shunning and avoiding people, they also mortify them. They talk about them in front of the person. One woman I know who is "DFed" has had her mother tell her husband right in front of her "Tell Anne bla bla bla" (name changed). WHATEVER! Others I know have stood in line in stores and listened to witnesses talk about them right in their presence. Simply to humiliate them.
Cancelling an account is slightly different. This isnt to say in all cases it is justified. I am not paying attention to who all is deleted.

) to travel to the silentlambs march and to file charges against their alleged abuser.
because he seemed to suddenly become very opposed to the idea of attending the march, i and some others asked him what i thought were simple and reasonable questions.
Simon if you remove his posts then as you said the evidence is gone. let him try what he will, The court will dismiss his action immediately. Please leave the posts up so the rest of us can examine the evidence ourselves. Also so in future cases on other forums we can point other people here if similar circumstances occur.
As to not posting requests for money, that is entirely reasonable. Frankly no one is paying for my sister and I to go to the march (though a gracious friend is perhaps allowing us and many others to stay at her place for a couple of nights). So why should anyone else be paid for?

Any question that Mike didnt know about these dates is clearly removed. Frankly I am not thinking he collected the funds with devious motives. But I do think that he is being petty. No control? We are all controlled to one degree or another. I prefer Bill to "control" me by following his guidelines which are entirely reasonable, than to be controlled by a jail cell for throwing tear gas..as I said before WTFever. Or to be controlled by fear of DFing. Etc.

We are not going to be acting violently. We are going to walk, as Bill said, in a calm manner up to Bethel. Bill has the needed permits. He has t-shirts for any that wish to wear them. Anyone else can dress how they choose. We will be calm and restrained. We will express our sorrows to the media. We will expose the watchtower society's policies. If (yeah right) the Governing Body actually talks to us or sends representatives we will speak calmly to them. We will inform them that we are not indicting all of Jehovahs Witnesses. That there are true Jehovahs Witnesses and they do in fact abhor Child Abuse. But that they have infiltrators among their midsts and it is impossible to tell them from the real JWs. At least that is what I will say, and did say to the elders at Bowen's Appeal.
So join us for a calm march to garner media attention for abuse victims and survivors. The more of us calm ones that are there, the more we can protest in a civilized manner.

Jesika actually bill didnt give us a dress code. he said wear what we want. His only request was for it to be a silent lambs march, not a christian, jws are false christians march, not a JWs made false prophecies march, not a look the JWs are in the UN march etc. Only Silent lambs banners please. I dont find that so offensive really. And I agree with you he is a nice man. But MIke pence knows this well.
Nanoprobe thanks And I agree with you and am glad for your posts. EVEN a THREAT of violence is terrorism. And frankly well it should be. I live in cincinnati and have seen people threatened and intimidated over BS before. We dont need to do that to the JWs. Most of them are nice folks, misled like us. Or at least MANY of them are. We certainly were. If we were cool some of them still are cool. And even if it werent against the law I agree with you that physical violence or threats of physical violence are bad. When we threaten we should threaten things like LEGAL ACTION, LAWSUITS, PRESS EXPOSURE etc.....and thats what I mean when I say we should be militant. I use the word symbolically, as I say Bill Bowen is a deity as is Sheila. Both god/goddess protector/protectress of children in my religion. Warrior/Queen...you get the idea.

I was contrasting my view with Mikes. When I say militantly vocal I mean speaking up often about the topic at hand and exposing those who do it. For instance showing people the court convictions, records and confessions of convicted molesters. I do not mean being militant to mean to cause harm to them. Frankly if they stay away from children and never go near them again then I would be happy. But most dont do it.
Pardon for the misunderstanding. (Being militantly vocal would also be going to the police with the accusation..stuff like that) Hope that explains better nanoprobe. I am not militant in the fasion mike is talking about (teargas...grr) etc..
