reading some of the recent posts on the blood issue reminded me of a verse that i have never yet had a jw explain.

lev 3:17 in the nwt reads " it is a statute to time indefinite for your generations, in all your dwelling places: you must not eat any fat or blood at all.".

jws use other verses to try and show that we mustn't eat blood as = having a blood transfusion.

Balistic several people have pointed out that in fact only four compnents are forbidden so long as the conscience of the person allows, in other words there are only four components that are forbidden. I dont need to say eating rice is allowd if your conscience provides, it is just more doubletalk cover up.

DJ I see no difference between JWism hypocricies or contradictions with the bible, and those of the bible itself. The bible is literally full of dangerous contradictions that if taken literally can get someone murdered. Read Duet 22 for a good example.

i'm new at this whole computer-e-mail stuff; so i guess i should explain myself a bit.

fist, english is not my 1st language, i was born into the truth- you could say i'm 2nd generation jehovah's witness, & i have been disfellowshipped twice & was out for 6 years.

i think from my last letter you can tell that i have a true zeal for the truth.

DJ they lay their heads down on the pillow, close their eyes and wallah, fast asleep. Everyone is a hypocrit in one fashion or another. We all cherish our own hypocrisies while dismissing other folks'. But ya know take a gander at Deut 22 if you really want to see some wickedness..and please dont say..oh well that was back then, cause the girls and women who were murdered by stoning, or sold into slavery, as a result of that chapter, werent thinking, oh well at least 1500 years from now this law wont apply....

Scooter youdid it right. I use HYGHLANDYR because all other variations of highlander were taken. It has sort of become a moniker of mine, with its unique spelling. I am of Irish/Scottish/French/German/Scandanavian/American descent. I am however Irish American by race.

Those pics are me. The first three are from 2000. The last one is from Bill Bowen's Appeal Comittee hearing. My hair as you can see is now long. I am considering shaving it half bald again. But I think I might wait until it is down near my waist.

As to bucko it is an old insult, like I guess callin someone an idiot or dweeb. But it is so old that its not an insult anymore, it makes the person using it look like a dweeb who has lost touched with the times. So it is meant to be comical. I will deny I said this if anyone asks. GOT THAT BUCKO! (Lolita is useful towards females, thank catydid774 from yahoo for reviving both of them she kicks ass)

And I said before JWs dont eat fat. They have a special liason comittee that works with fast food places to make sure they get fat free greasy fries.

Why do elders not disfellowship inactive people?

when i left the religion, i walked away and did not get df'ed or da myself.

in doing so, my wife left the religion at the same time.

in our life we have been very nonwitness in our life.

I cant be disfellowshipped since I am not a witness. The elders said to me "It sounds like you dont want to be thought of as one of Jehovahs witnesses anymore." I replied, I am not thought of as one of Jehovahs Witnesses. My wife is a witness, she doesnt think I am one of Jehovahs Witnesses. My friends dont think I am one of Jehovahs Witnesses. Then I tilted my head and I looked at them with a quizzical look on my face and said do YOU think i am one of Jehovahs Witnesses? What could they say?

Then the one elder said, well it sounds like you want to disassociate yourself? To which I replied, why would I need to DA myself since I am a "Former Member who has ceased to be involved in the faith?" Using their words from the website. It is even more pointed now, although the attempt is to give them more laditude, it actually gives me more. Now it says, anyone who has left the faith. Before it was anyone INVOLVED in the faith. Thus if I went to meetings they could attempt to df or da me. But even catholics who leave their faith still go to mass once in a while, or weddings and funerals. So now I can go to all the meetings, sing, study. Whatever. As long as I do only those things non-members typically do I am ok.

If they ever did try to falsely announce my DA or DF, I would simply deny it. Like if I go to a congregation in ohio, and some elder in california decides to announce I am DA or DF, well clearly his word doesnt apply. That would be my additude in this case also. Even if it were my former elders. Why? Because I am a FORMER member.

Too I told them if they df me, I will show up at all the meetings. I will sit down in front. I will sing the loudest. I will greet everyone that comes in. I will involve myself in conversations. I will be jovial. Newcomers will wonder why they are shunning this genuinely nice fella...They told me there was nothing to DF me for.:)
