  So who's been out the longest??

  well some of you arent in the truth anymore,either left,df or da....so who's been out the longest???

  and how many had the priviledge of going pio school?.

  Angeleyes, as soon as you do a thorough investigation of your religion you'll find out that it does not make mistakes but rather that it is a mistake. The issue is not about a corrupt individual here or there but an abundance of moral torpidity throughout the whole collective body of the religion from the Governing Body all the way down to the rank and file. As soon as you realize the degree to which the WBTS is corrupt, manipulative and vicious you"ll be faced with the choice of either disassociating yourself from something evil or continuing in it and perpetuating its lies.

  You already gave a big hint when you said that you cannot think of leaving Jah's "organization". Well this is the bottom line. The WBTS and its members never where nor are they now nor ever shall be God's organization. You have been easily impressed by its sham make believe knowledge just like I was when I was 14 and naive. But I retained my curiosity and more important my integrity. The combination of both and my disgust with the organizations pathological self worship is what led me out of that counterfeit, false prophet led organization.

  Another thought, angeleyes, just as we don't think of ourselves as not being in "the Truth" so we do not consider ourselves as "falling away". Instead we've been lifted out of the dark pit that the "Society" truly is.

  Angeleyes; don't worry about our being offended, worry about the fact that Jah is not interchangeable with the JWs. Worry about the lack of spirituality shown when someone who claims to be serving God at the same time says that he/she cannot do it alone. Bottom line, the WTBS uses God as a puppet in what is nothing more than a blasphemous ventriloquist act. What they really do is worship the organization.

  I've been out of the religion for 29 years. As far as refering to it as "The Truth" that is the very reason I got disfellowshipped. I told the elders that even if all doctrines were truthful the society should not be using that phrase because Jesus said of himself "I am the truth, the way and the life". In other words you are putting your religion on the same level as Jesus.

  ColdRedRain, by saying that they were individualistic I did not mean that they were so extreme as to not gather together in family/friend associations. They do for their vegetarian picnics as you illustrated but in all the Watchtower literature I've seen I have yet to see a village or densely populated community in their illustrations. Nuclear families-the children in the illustration undoubtedly have parents-is as large as their society gets. Everything including their houses, as I previously mentioned, are scattered to the four winds giving a sense of isolation not to mention a very long walk for people who apparently have no transportation.

  Not to belabor a point, the rest of your examples are fine.

  Editor’s Op: In his experience, the replacement addicts who use politics to fill the void become politically liberal, since it much closely resembles the collectivist nature of the JW version of paradise).

  Interesting post ColdRedRain. I disagree with the statement about JW paradise. The reason why is that all those cartoonish illustrations of theirs often show an isolated house surrounded by parkland space. I rarely see another house except perhaps in the distance. This suggests an individualistic society.

  JWoods; "Cuts both ways, huh?"

  I'm sure it does JWoods if I were putting Democrats up on a pedestal. But I'm neither Democrat, Republican or so called 'Independent'. Bottom line, if the Republicans have any claim to fair play, and if the religious amongst them were as righteous as they claim, they would not be using their opponents tactics. Slander does not justify slander. A vigorous defence yes but not the trash talk we've been hearing lots of.

  BurnTheShips, have you read Thoreau? He wrote in the first person and defended his reasons to do so.

  By the way nation and country should rate as one concept. That would make it 10 iterations. School and education should also read as one (I know they're different semantically but still rate as one in school childrens eyes). That would make it 29 iterations. And also, all the iterations except for "I" number 57 numerically but even more so as a collective idea.

  1. There will be an oil shortage in 2-5 years.

  2. In 5-10 years the North Polar ice cap will be practically gone, during the summer. The elimination of the white ice caps, that reflect heat, and their replacement by open blue water, which absorbs heat, will heat up the circumpolar region and cause the following:

  a. Altering of the immediate climate in North America and Eurasia due to a chain reaction of changing weather events. Possible crop failures which rely on predictable climate to grow in.

  b. Further melting of the Siberian/Alaskan permafrost and underwater frozen methane deposits, which in turn will exhale more carbon dioxide and methane. This will, in the decades to follow, reinforce the current climate change we are undergoing.
