The Library was my friend. Always had to go sit there quietly while everybody had a great time at the birthday party. One time a friend saved me the candles from the cake. I put them in my pocket and took them home, then I started to worry the demons would come because of it so I promptly threw them out. God I feel so sorry for the JW kids still going through this.Just glad I didn't do it to my kids.

Did you Leave the Room for Birthday Parties as a kid?
by saywhat29 inin elementary school, the teachers would allow parents to bring in brownies/cake/cupcakes/ice cream to celebrate a studen'ts birthday.. and you were supposed to leave.
or tell the teacher that you would not be partaking of pagan desserts.. but.
did you actually leave?.

anyway the first thing i asked her was if she had a back issue of the july 09 awake.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. We will see what happens. We have never DA'd and I don't know if we have been DF'd. But if the elders show up they will know where we stand we have our flag up and I have a cross next to the front door (just for them) so they won't have to trap me in anything it's quite obvious were done with them. The old lady almost seemed new to me she gave a very simple presentation from Isaiah 65 about paradise and tried to leave the old Look brochure.So I don't know about her, but if she comes back by herself I will definatley try to prick her conscience gently of course. So I'll let you know if anybody shows back up.

Do/did you like to read Daily Text?

we actually never really did.. once, on vacations, we were with another family, they prepared food on the table for breakfast .... and then nobody could touch it for some 15 minutes, when daddy was reading daily text and asking childish questions ... family members were raising hands and answering .... we all were hungry... watching the food ... and hoping it will soon be over (i dont mean armageddon, i mean daily text...) i felt just like an idiot..... albert.

Hated it! As a kid every morning before we could go to school we had to sit down and read the text and look up the scriptures and then pray before we could leave. Awful waste of time ,five minutes later I couldn't tell you what I had just read. Half asleep most of the time.

Today is my baby boy's birthday

we went to see kung fu panda which he highly enjoyed, was kinda hard for him to keep seated but it was fun.

I said sure it has an article in the back about if you leave your religion your family doesn't have to shun you. I told her I wanted to send it to my Mom who hasn't visited in 8 years because I left the Witnesses. She said oh ok I will get you a copy. Then I said you probably won't come back because I am no longer a Witnesses and she said oh no I'll come back. So the bet is will she comeback by herself?Will she come back with and elder? Or will two elders show up? I am leaning toward two elders. Anybody else want to make a wager? Also what wonderful words of wisdom should I say to them. Thinking about going along the lines of the double standard that article makes.Also rereading the great post Hopscotch started three months ago. I know whatever I say doesn't matter they tune it all out but I want to have fun with it. Since I know longer live in fear of them.

JW Firefighters

he is about 26 and wants it bad, currently he does some construction and ...ready: windows.

Yes they allow it but you do get the talk in the back, at least I did. The time you'll miss at meetings. Being a female I got the lecture about sleeping in the station with men. And finally why do you want to pursue a career (paramedic) that has no future, the new system will be here any day and your job won't be needed.Well that was over 20 years ago. I still think we need paramedic's firefighters etc..
