i am sick and tired of people putting down posters like the andersons!
they work hard to expose some things we might never have known about.
why some find fault with them, or ray franz before them, or maximus when he was here is beyond me.. be thankful for those that decide to come here and share what they know about this organization.. we get elders who are still in their positions and they share with us a lot of interesting news and perspectives.

well this is refreshing.
good to see interest has faded for his fear-mongering, hate-filled conspiracy rants.. .
glenn becks fox show droppedby david bauder ap television writer apr 6, 2011 2:30pm.
Beck's crazy rants are dangerous! William F. Buckley, Scalia, Roberts, Alito and other conservatives I can respect. The world is richer for exposure to different points of view. Opponents of my views help me clarify and explain my own. I joined a Fox news boycott years ago. What concerns me is the birther nuts. Becks knows Obama is a ciitizen. He is not that dumb. Michelle Bachmann knows Obama is a citizen.Donald Trump knows for certain. She is not that dumb. It terrifies me to see educated people spout a crazy story to rev up the base. I loved John Stewart's Rally for Sanity.
Colbert knows he does comedy. What did Hitler do? He was not that bright but I admit I also don't believe that he believed the venom he stirred up. Millions died.
If you've boycotted Fox how do you know his crazy rants are dangerous?
Hitler? Some of you really do need to sit back, realize this guy is an *Entertainer*, a *Radio Personality* and to call him "Dangerous" and within the same post bring up Hitler, well, I have to say it:
You've jumped The Shark. Where is Fonzi?
He did what anyone with half a brain and the ability to speak clearly and make a joke did: Made lots of money when given an opportunity. Think of every comic out there. Like Larry the Cable Guy.
{Then again he did get that Swarmy guy fired from Obama's staff. What was his name? Van Jones. The Green Jobs Czar. We know what a fine job he was doing for Obama. At least someone was looking out for us taxpayers--and Obama, no doubt. Too bad the HR peeps in WH staffing weren't-oops--Thankfully GB was there to cover Obamas butt before Van Jones got into any more trouble, huh?---:-) }
i for my part do not believe there is a satan the devil.
he does not exist.
there is a creator, but no oposite number, no satan.
Didn't read the whole thread, sorry.
When I was a Dub, of course, I thought Satan and his Demons were out there just waiting to *get me*. How? Not really sure. At night sometimes I'd wake up terrified that they were under the bed and if the sheet wasn't tucked in tightly that was it, I was toast, they'd get me from under the bed.
Now, nothing. Zip, zilch, nada. I am more afraid of the coyotes outside. Literal, wild coyotes.
I got into a conversation with my JW mom last week on this.
She is convinced my BIL is DEMONIZED. Literally, completely DEMONIZED.
Why? Because he is a complete and utter POS. I mean Douche Bag. With a capital D and B.
So, her answer for his bordering on criminal behavior?
He's Demonized.
She said "I know you don't believe in it. I prayed to Jehovah and he told me Jxxx is Demonized. I just knew it. It would explain the look in his eyes. Have you noticed he won't look you in the eyes??"
Me to Mom "Huh. Well, since he won't look you in the eyes how can you see the Demons or even "The Look"?"
She realized I was being sarcastic and immediately tried to drop it.
I said "Look, he is just a big XXXXX " and I called him a few really filthy names. (Believe me, if I cataloged all the things this guy did, he'd be in jail)
She looked shocked, decided I was right and followed suit.
So much for Satan.
No I don't believe in him or his minions.
I think (some) people are Douche Bags.
the following is only my own personal analysis.. take it or leave it.
but, by all means jump in and have a say.. .
i think more and more we are losing our grasp on a wonderful venue at jw-net.. as a discussion board, i mean.. at one time, there were a great many wonderful and interesting discussions by a variety of persons with varied backgrounds having a good.
1.Do you see a Thread Topic and read ALL of the posts before you comment? Or, do you jump to the end and have your say?
It depends on the thread, the topic, the OP, how long the thread is, etc. Sometimes I comment on the OP, sometimes I jump in. Usually I just read. I don't have too many posts considering how long I've been here.
2.Do you consider what the actual Topic started off being rather than where it may have derailed?
I try. I try to stay on track. Again, it depends on how far I've read and how many comments have been made. If there are pages and pages of comments I don't bother. Why jump in and say something that was already said?
3. Do you ask and answer questions factually, with references, quotations? Or, is yours exclusively an emotional response?
I try to be factual with references and quotes. I ignore comments which are only cut and pastes from a blog or other online source and I also ignore someone who drones on without references on a complex subject. Prove your point with hard facts. Not Wikipedia. Any idiot can use and post on Wikipedia.
4.Do you care if there is a fundamental difference between an opinion and a fact?
Yes. Opinions are like A-holes. ;-)
5.Are your posts HUGE CHUNKS OF DENSE PARAGRAPHS THAT GO ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON?
Not usually.
6.Are you pithy (like Minimus) and to the point?
Try to be.
7.If you had to characterize your own contributions to JW-net in one word or two at the most; what would it be?
Pertinent.
i'm a loner.. offline, i have few friends.
the friends i do have are dear to me but i'm bad at communicating with them, meaning i don't call often.
facebook has been a boom with me cuz i can keep contact with folks i really care about without being constantly in contact with them which would drive me crazy.. on this board i haven't got too deep with folks.
Interesting.
I'm pretty much the same way. Could be the way we were raised in a cult and all. I don't mind being a loner. I can't seem to get my JW mom to understand why not having 50 BFFs is not my thing. She insists that I must be lonely and need more friends than the ones I have. I insist that the ones I have are enough. I don't need 50 like she has. (all JWs of course; fair weather friends, if that)
i guess this is a question mostly for born-ins.
i wonder how many of you went to college after leaving or while you were in and what was your experience like?.
I went "in" as a teen when I went to college. I took out loans and got Pell grants. I have gone back and got a second degree (BS-hee hee) in another major.
I am a fierce advocate of post-HS education. I love learning. I love college.
(a little background info before i ask my question...).
my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!
she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).
My Mother.
Ugh. It is embarrassing to go into a restaurant with her. She will order something, say it is wrong and then say she is a senior to get a discount. She will take the packets of sugar, salt, etc. Everything people have listed my Mom has done.
Tips? She does not believe in them. I will leave extra money because she will leave $1-2 dollars on a $30-40 dollar bill. She gets mad at me for leaving them money. I can't believe how cheap she is.
there are some wonderful folks reading this site.. so many wonderful jws( doubters ...but reading).
also there are folks on here who know it is a cult... one of them just called me...( wont say who ,as is fading).. but encouraged me so very much, thank you thank you thankyou.
i always go back to my post & i seem .
I love reading your posts Grace!
after reading the threads on watchtower encouraging 10 year olds to take the baptismal plunge, i wonder if they have an actual legal right to terminate their agreements without any penalty enforced by the organization.. i think those of us who were "too young" to enter into any contract could be absolved of any agreements, even religious vows, because we were still obviously too young to understand all the "fine print" before signing.. what do you think??
?.
Lawyers here in the US will take your money and enjoy the process. You will never be able to find a court willing to take this on. Read the links above. If they tried with the JWs they would have the Muslims, Scientologists, 7th Day Adventists and every other person with a bone of contention against the faith they were raised in. Doesn't matter what *we* think and how shunning hurts.
Until they are declared a cult and not a viable religion, it is untouchable.
the witnesses always blame everything on adam and eve (besides satan).
for some reason, when i used to look at the my book and bible stories when i was little, i used to feel bad for adam and eve?
its kinda like getting mad at a baby for making a mistake.
I always thought A) they couldn't be perfect since they got hoodwinked by the Devil and B) why was the Devil there in the first place?
So, my *logic* ran along the line of they were like the Forrest Gumps of the GE. Not the brightest bulbs if Eve was willing to talk to a snake.
My next thought was how could anyone believe that all of humanity was from these two dimrods?
