A Question for Blue Grass
by marmot insince i noticed you seem to take particular offense at atheism or anything that contradicts a literal interpretation of the bible, could you explain to me your view of noah's flood?.
.
because that's the fable that made me stop believing in the god of the bible..

God_Delusion
Blue Grass: "there is evidence that some mountains in Turkey(I think) were fully submerged under water"
God Delusion: Please show me where you got this evidence from? Unless there are libraries on Titan that hold evidence of this, please show me which earthly evidence exists to this fact.
Blue Grass (in response to MissingLink's response that the flood happened maybe 6,000 years ago): "It would be impossible for me to know that"
God Delusion: I'm guessing that you're a Jehovah's Witness. If you are, then shame on you for being on an "apostatic" site. And shame on you for not knowing when the flood was supposed to have happened. If you're not a Jehovah's Witness, then I retract my last statement.
Blue Grass: "science agrees that all mankind comes from one man"
God Delusion:Once again, please show me where you read this. Sounds like Awake! dribble to me. Watch the video link you posted again and this time, listen to what it says. Then do some research on the subject. Then do more research.
Dear Blue Grass, you sound like you've got a bout of Reniaalogicitis. I've seen this is rare illness in many Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm no doctor, but I advise you cross-check every Awake! article you've got in your home that supports the "Flood Debacle" with real science. Have an open mind. I know it's difficult. After all, the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society have made it so through the years of mental conditioning.
If you are a Jehovah's Witness, then you fit into the following category of people;
"You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to
be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly
dependant on the system, that they will fight to protect it."
I implore you to Awake! from your slumber. Please, please, please, open your eyes and see that the years of brainwashing inflicted on us can be removed. We are here to help you, but you've got to let us in. Blue Grass (or any Jehovah's Witnesses reading this), what do you think makes me different from you? I was born a Jehovah's Witness, studied for years, brought people into the organisation, but even though I was so inert, so hopelessly dependant on the system that I was brought up in, a part of my mind was fighting a battle with the rest of my conscious self.
I broke the law by researching scientific information in relation to the flood. Once I had realised that the flood story was proved inaccurate, I started to wonder what else in the bible was wrong? The shock to my system that followed reduced me to tears.
If you think that something is wrong with the organisation, but don't want everyone to know that you have a few belief issues, please PM me.
I'd like to finally finish this comment by saying that the flood fairytale has been disproved by each and every scientist that I have spoken to and believe me, I've spoken to and work with a great deal of them.
I know the flood issue must have been covered on here countless times, but if any of you have questions that you would like answered scientifically, let me have them.
Kind regards

Asking for money at the hall.
by GapingMouth ini don't go to the meetings anymore for i am fading, but a short while ago something happened in a meeting i'd never seen in my entire life as a jw.
the local needs discussed the fact that the local branch had bought a new kh for a whopping 1 million euros.
that's insane, but not the part that got me.

Yes, the same thing happened in the cultfest hall I used to visit. They asked all publishers to write down a figure that would definitely be covered within 12 months.
Isn't the WTB$ a billion+ dollar publishing company? I think so. Spread the wealth Borg.
As most of you know, I'm an atheist, so to actually see people donating money to a fairy is quite laughable. If any of you want to donate money to the WTB$, please re-think your decision and instead, donate what you can to other, more meaningful charities, such as the WWF.

Pastafarian blog
by GapingMouth inafter leaving jws i have found myself increasingly impatient with religion and just how stupid some things are that people believe.
i understand not all of you on here are atheists, but i wanted to point out my new blog.
in my blog i am a believer that the spaghetti monster exists and base my writings as such.

I gave it a bash and found it terribly entertaining.

Do you believe that the GB are in charge of the WBTS?
by God_Delusion ini have been reading up a lot about secret societies and what they do in order to control their members.
one thing they all have in common is this;.
the leaders of the group are never the real leaders of the group.

I have been reading up a lot about secret societies and what they do in order to control their members. One thing they all have in common is this;
The leaders of the group are never the real leaders of the group. Internal policies reflecting on the outcome and responsibility of the members are never made by the said leaders.
So, do you honestly believe that this billion dollar plus business is run by a small group of old men? I personally don't.
I would like to hear your views on this.

easy like sunday morning...
by highdose inahhhhh!
a lay in, slowly pottering around, doing whatever i like, a full english breakfast at 11ish, meeting freinds in town for coffee in the arvo... dodging all the jw's waving their mags as i walk through.... now that we are free, what do you do with your sunday mornings?.
-
God_Delusion
I stay awake on Saturday nights until about 4am reading and studying info off the net. Go to sleep, then wake up at 1pm on Sunday afternoon. Why would I swap that in place of going to a cultfest?

What response would you give to this JW illustration ?
by troubled mind inmy jw in laws send us these types of emails every once in a while .
never is there any real personal correspondence from them and it irritates me.
i have sent emails back before critiquing the logic of some of their emails.. i will be sending a response to this latest one ,and i would appreciate some ideas .. i know many of you on this forum are so excellant with your words i would enjoy your input .. the first thing that came to my mind after i read the illustration was "i am so glad i am no longer on the endless tread mill of witness logic that has you running forever from scary imaginary spirit beings ".

I am an atheist and god-damn (pardon the pun) proud of it. Therefore, I don't believe in Satan. I do though, believe in foxes.
Now that I'm out, I find all these illustration so funny. I view it like having believed in the story of Cinderella. Upon figuring out for myself that this was just a story, all my friends and family stopped talking to me because I can't believe in fairytales.
Be weary of the power of mind control. Now that I'm out, I can see how powerful it is.

what happened to "peace and security"???
by highdose ini remember growing up as a dub that everyone was constantly on the look out for what could be the cry of peace and security... then suddenly people just stopped, it stopped being mentioned in talks ... everything.
theories please?.
-
God_Delusion
I remember that to. I've only stopped going in the last 5 months or so and to be honest, I haven't heard this "peace & security" business in quite a while either.
One thing I did tell my mum (right before the US & UK went to war in Iraq) was that the UN wasn't the force it once was. So all this business that the UN will bring an end to religion is absolute tosh.
The way I see it, the UN is a global Red Cross. Since when have countries, in recent years, listened to UN mandates? Maybe the WTB$ also understand think this way and that's why they have an NGO membership with the UN?
Either way, the WTB$ has a sell-by-date. I just hope I get to see them expire in my lifetime.

Jehovah's Witness Websites
by God_Delusion inhi guy's.. hope everyone is well.. i am so disgusted with jehovah's witnesses.
i'm not df'd yet, but that's only because it would cause massive problems within my wife's family (her brother is an elder and his wife is pregnant with their first child.
if i get df'd, we won't be able to talk to them out of their love for us; go figure), although my wife or me haven't been to meetings in ages.. anyway, i have created a new blog jehovah's witness lies.

Hi guy's.
Hope everyone is well.
I am so disgusted with Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm not df'd yet, but that's only because it would cause massive problems within my wife's family (her brother is an elder and his wife is pregnant with their first child. If I get df'd, we won't be able to talk to them out of their love for us; go figure), although my wife or me haven't been to meetings in ages.
Anyway, I have created a new blog Jehovah's Witness Lies. I feel that there should be as many sites as possible out there that tell the truth about this cult. I don't have time to write articles everyday, but will once a week.
Please please please feel free to submit any articles to me by email to [email protected].
I have created a section titled "What Jehovah's Witnesses Believe". If any of you have anytime whatsoever, please fill in your own comments. If anyone has any ideas as to how I can spruce the site up, please let me know.
If we are to stop people joining this cult, we need more websites. I know that there are a lot, but we need more. Please do anything you can to help.
Kind regards
GD

should i report this child abuser?
by highdose ini've already posted this on a recent thread, but just in case it gets ignored, i wanted it to have a thread of its own.
as i'm quite uncertain as to what to do.... in the area that i just moved to i have discovered that there is a jw here that i used to know.
the interesting thing about this jw is that when i knew him 20 years ago he fled my congo because a young sister spoke up and said that he had been raping her for years as a child.

I've never been in or know anyone that's been in a situation like this. The only advice I can give is that you warn the elders in your hall about this guy. I can see them telling you to stay quiet.
In that case, I would tell the elders that you will contact the police and inform them of the situation and ask them for their advice. The elders will warn you that you may be in a great deal of trouble if you do something like this.
It's at that point that you need to open your eyes and realise that JW's are a man-made (and run) organisation.
Do whatever your heart tells you.
