My parents seperated (due to family illness) when I was 8.I prayed that my father could see me graduate from HS (because we were so close to the end). I graduated 30 years ago........my parents are DEAD as are most of their friends. The younger generation STILL yell about never growing old....and how close we are to the end. I really dont understand the delusion!!!

Underlying Resentment Among the Members
by xjwsrock inmost of us here have seen and experienced the judgmental attitude among jw's.
the pioneers look down on the publishers.
the appointed men look down on the non-appointed men.

Hummm, good question. In a merit based religion, there is always someone who excuses their own behaviour, but condemns others. There is always a good reson to look down on someone else.

My Bethel Experience Part 13 "Love and Sex" at Bethel
by new boy inmost of us went back to bethel, thinking we wanted to make it our life long career, what better place to be right before 1975, when god was coming back to kick some ass?
that dream ended for the vast majority after just few months there, when they found out that something was very wrong.
otherwise why would anyone want to leave a spiritual paradise?

This is great news. The best way to collapse and sustain the collapse is to destroy it from within. The writers are to blame!!

Being a JW Used to Be Fun :-)
by snowbird inwe found some people who were happy to welcome us into their homes, even offering us food and drink.. sometimes, they would flag us down and ask for the magazines, walk miles to the kh meetings, come to our defense if someone got ugly or rude.. now, jw's are either routinely ignored or outright vilified.. no one respects them anymore.. sad.. .

I remember growing up, there was so many activities going on with witnesses. I think the one that I enjoyed the most was skating every Sunday night. In Los Angeles it seems that most skating rings have closed down. My children don't have nearly as many recreational activities as I did. -

Is the Pioneer School being eliminated?
by wannaexit ini heard from the semi reliable source that the pioneer schools will go the way of the dodo bird next year.. i could see this happening.
it used to be that you went to the the pioneer school once.
then they allowed dubs to go every 5 years.

I remember Pioneer school all too well! I really hated having different congregations bring in food every day! Some sisters would tell me; "Don't eat this ......it is from a nasty sister! LOL
It's incredible that most witnesses don't see all of these moves as downsizing!
