Their reasoning and logic is so flawed. I see this and I want to say something… But I don't want to expose myself.

Religion, family structure and a successful life.
by SouthCentral inthis morning (12/3/16) on fox and friends ( a news show on the fox network) there was a great news piece.
it featured one of the newscasters and her parents, who happened to be the former governor of utah (jon huntsman).
religion ( the mormon church) has obviously played a large role in their family life.

All good comments!! It's true that Mormon have their issues, along with most religions. A great point was made regarding the Jewish religion though. I completely forgot how they intertwine their success, family and religion all so very well together.

Religion ( The Mormon church) has obviously played a large role in their family life. It's great when people can embrace God and their life goals. After being a witness, it seems impossible to ever enjoy this type of euphoric feeling. The Mormon church may be flawed, but it seems to help make people better. It pushes people above and beyond mediocrity. Worldly/material success will always be viewed in a negative light in the world of Jay dubs! In hindsight, that makes it hard for any halfway intelligent family head to raise their children in a religion that pushes mediocrity ( but pushes good salesmanship skills).

dealing with religion after leaving the witnesses
by joker ini’ve noticed many people posting on this site seem to have completely given up on religion/spirituality.. but some have attended services at another religion, or just follow their own heart regarding what to believe.. my question is how does anyone deal after leaving with all of the witness crap that we believed about babylon the great, the great harlot, spiritual prostitute, etc., etc.
i’m finding out that i seem to have built myself a pretty solid wall regarding religion.. some people can just chuck all beliefs into one basket saying that they are all basically garbage,,, and that is ok, no problem i respect that.. but for myself there is a certain part of my personality that needs a spiritual belief not like the witnesses in any way, but something to meditate on, and contemplate.. being a witness taught me how bad it is to actually think of god in any other way besides what the jw’s believe.
and now when i attend any other service, the dark jw side seems to pop out and seriously makes me believe that everything i see/do/say is wrong.

I think that I am DEFINITELY a spiritual person. I feel that ALL religions are man made, money-making machines. Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, Fred Price or Jehovah's Witnesses, they are all a "Snare and a Racket!!!" I think they all have good and bad in them. My wife is still active, but she respects my beliefs. The org. is JUST a social mechanism for us. I use my job as an excuse to miss the meeting, because it is VERY demanding.

Warning: Watchtower computer dept. registers accounts on Ex-JW sites, coerces people to divulge their personal details
by WTS Archive inwe had a bad experience with watchtower trying to infiltrate our forums.
let this story be a warning for all you guys here.
if you value your privacy do not ever send your real contact details to anyone, even if you trust them (because their accounts could be hacked or accessed by their relatives - and yes, this happened to people i know several times already).

Staying IN the org. and NOT getting disfellowshipped is one of the fears of the organization! You pose a giant threat.

This is incredible!!! I am not surprised though. Many leave the org. as a result of the activities of evil apostates!!

James Mixon-The Watts congregation was in our circuit. I went to a talk there once. I think the hall was across from the projects. Incredible experience. Two homeless people interrupted the speaker while on stage. Great people in the hall though.
Its great to see that many DID not notice any issues in their congregations. Among the black witnesses in Carson and Inglewood, they DEFINITELY felt that they were better than us South-Central folk. Its all funny in hindsight.

Great post, thanks for sharing. The area that I live in now has million dollar homes and the superiority complex exist on the same socio-economic basis. Witnesses in Los Angeles always look down on US saying, "You know how weak they are out there.in....." Its funny!!!!!!!!!! They actually believe that they can live poor and EARN their salvation. I have heard how weak we are from at least 30 of my old friends. When they talk about materialism at our hall, the speaker would almost have a smirk on his face. Maybe it is a Spiritual Paradise!!! lol

On New Year's Eve one year, ALL of the blacks from 2 congregations were at a GATHERING. It was my most pleasant experience outside of South LA. It was an oasis in a foregin land. Now, the Antelope Valley is much more integrated than when I initially moved there. It's funny how people seem to be more comfortable among those that they share a similar background with. I don't think any of us were racist, we just enjoyed each other's company. In hindsight, I really miss the friendships from our black congregation. My son said he wished he grew up in that same environment, because there was a lotta love among the black friends, but no sincere concern among the white ones.
