so what do you guys and gals think about digital vs 35mm?.
i use to do a little shutter bugging myself.
I love digital, I just got canon 5d Mark2 but didn't even had time yet to fully play with it as I'm busy lately working on the house. I would never go back to film, not only are digitals great looking but they are easier to store and sort through. You can alter digitals so much easier, correct what needs to be corrected and add/apply filters afterwards in photoshop. No more scanning! No more slide projectors!
Never got into portraits but I love landscapes.

just noticed that in the february 2010 study edition of the watchtower, they refer to the "millions now living will never die" talk in 1918, but they have changed the title to "millions now living may never die".
only problem, they included the picture of the invitation to the talk, which says 'will'.. ooops.

Igadsden: What you're implying is that the light is getting brighter and the old teaching were not understood therefore were revised. What you don't get is that you are believing in the organization that teaches that they were directed by God from the start and in 1918 Christ chose them because they were proven to be clean. So not only is WTS claiming to have been found favorable with Christ in 1918 but also that they were spiritually clean. So how is it that they believed 1799, 1874, 1878 and 1914 and again in 1925? Ok let's say they were mistaken on some but shouldn't God's spirit cleans them of falsehoods like 1799,1874 and 1878 right away? Does God's spirit work that slow that it look an extra 20 years to get rid of these dates? What about 1925? Did the Holy Spirit bless WTS with that date? After all they were cleansed people were they not? You are hiding your head in the sand and refuse to look at the facts. That is not light getting brighter because as you notice when you get up in the morning you don't see sun rising and then going backwards while the night takes over and then sun jumps up in the middle of the sky only to reverse it's course and the moon appears! That's not how you see the morning occur but that is what WTS is telling you and millions others has occurred in the case. The entire history of WTS is full of flip flops, revisions, deception and lies. This article is clearly deceptive but they will say it's not since they're not hiding anything, but they're not disclosing the whole story either, they only show their members what they want their members to see because the rest would not benefit the leaders. Maybe you should do some deeper research on wts history before you try to defend the liars that they are unless you like what this religion tells you without caring for the truth in which case all the best to you in living a dream. Before I end, think about the bible and those false prophets who prophesied using God's name? Why did God reject them? He could have said that the weren't getting the full light yet but were speaking in his name which was good, wasn't it? NO! They were condemned for being false prophets for telling people what God didn't tell them to speak and in the same manner WTS is a false prophet for they speak out of their ass and not what God has told them. They are a deceptive organization, a whore that would sell it's children for a mere buck.
i was very disgusted with the wt study for today.. towards the end of the article it refers to matthew 15 (see quoted scripture below).
this is a beautiful passage where jesus says his followers need to be hospitable, care for sick, hungry and imprisoned brothers.. they turn it around and say that for jw's this means they need to support the "faithful and discreet slave" by going in door-to-door witnessing, making monetary contributions to support the worldwide witnessing work, and following the directions and counsel of congregation elders.. and the worst part of it all is that there were several commenters giving almost word for word answers to that effect, they didn't even seem to listen to previous comments, they just repeated mindlessly what the paragraph said... i was ready to burst.

Everything nowdays revolves around GB and the worship of these old fools, so they will twist any scripture and use it to their own benefit. I can't understand why people don't want to see what this a-holes are doing but I guess blind faith does that to people. GB loves to be idolized, no different than popes of old as even those today don't have as much sway as GB over their own flock.

I like Ruppert's Crossing The Rubicon but I'm not totally sold on Peak Oil theory. Collapse was alright but it's all based on Peak Oil whereas I see the collapse having to do more with Bankers and the fiat pyramid scheme more than peak oil. The two may be related but I can't prove it but I know that the fiat currency is a pyramid and as long as people spend and create debt it's fine. There has to be a time to pay back the banker and this is partly what has occurred last year in the market which was like a heart attack. The governments haven't fixed a single thing but allowed more debt to be created to postpone another economic convulsion. The huge inflow of money went to help the banks which pumped the markets and made it appear that the economy has improved when the jobs are still bleeding and foreclosures are continuing. Because many banks have hoarded the money instead of passing it to the public they were able to improve their reserves and their balance sheets thus not creating the inflation that would be natural with the money hitting the mainstreet thus we are still seeing deflationary recession. But at some point the trillions of dollars will start to flow into the mainstreet and create inflation. No one is talking about another wave of mortgage renewals coming up which are prime and Alt-A mortgages. These ones will peak sometime in mid-late 2010 with many of these being underwater. After all why would you pay a mortgage on a house that's worth less than a loan? What about commercial real estate? That thing is big too and bleeding. So if peak oil is a problem, it may be but what we're experiancing IMO has more to do with debt and asset bubbles that central bankers created. What about the derivatives being somewhere in 1000 trillion area. We seen Iceland have problems a while back but what about latest Greece and Dubai? What about UK and US? Easter Europe and China? Yes, China is not immune to asset bubbles and their real estate seems to be quite bubbly according to some Chinese officials. China also needs jobs as many of Chinese are starting to enjoy the western lifestyle but that comes with a cost - debt. If jobs are eliminated because the world buys less Chinese goods that will put strain on the Chinese government which may see a threat to it's government from restless population. At present I view the problems in the world due to fiscal mismanagement and not due to peak oil.

It's deception as usual and after learning the truth about wts it's not surprising as they've done this in the past many times over. It's not a lie per se since the talk really was Million Now Living May Never Die and the book released in 1920 was called Millions Now Living WILL Never Die. So by implying that Rutherford envisioned millions of people never dying they imply that todays number of WTS followers is a proof of Rutherford's vision and direction of Holy Spirit. They don't mention that the millions was in reference to 1925 era which was going to see the ancients resurrected and imminent end of the system of things. It's obvious that the written material is half truthful which most dubs won't notice or won't even know what Rutherford was speaking of when he made the above comments. What makes me sick is that they're pushing the adoration of GB more than ever, maybe I didn't catch on to this while being blinded to the deception but it does seem to me that they're pushing for greater loyalty to GB more than ever before. It's as if they preparing the followers for something big in the future. Latest wts trash appears to make GB not only anointed but Christ's substitudes on earth, Christ's channel and representatives here and these are the ones who demand absolute loyalty from the followers. Even when they refer to God, many times it almost appears that they're talking of themselves and they place themselves as if in the seat of God. Has anyone else notice that or is it just me?

God either sits in silance and doesn't do a single thing at present until his appointed time whatever that may be or God doesn't exist and we imagine that he does. After all we can make excuses that God works through us but how does that work? Are we telling ourselves that we can't do the good that we do without God? Maybe WTS experience really destroyed my faith in God but at present I don't see any acts of God in our daily lives other than what we may imagine to keep our fantasy alive that God is doing something today.
i have been meaning to bring this up for a long time.. sometimes, i think we (former jw's) who are very rightly concerned about all the lies of the governing body have some great ideas about how to expose jehovah's witnesses.. some of us have very passionate and distinct ideas.
not a few of us have websites with our own personalities evident.. i don't wish this to get personal.
even if i disagree with some presentations or rhetoric of some, i know that it is sincere.
If the billboards were to quote WTS publications how could wts sue? It isn't slander nor is it defamation, so what could they go after you for? If the board quoted Russell something like
Headline: God's Guided Organization without a doubt
"1914 is the end not the beginning but the end" Wt xx,xxxx
"1874 definite proof of Christ's return" - wt xx,xxxx
"1925 has more bible proof than 1914" -wt xx,xxxx

BTW quotes above aren't exact but the point is how many witnesses have any idea about these teachings. Nothing slanderous just quotes something to make people think :) Price would be an issue but if one could talk to a lawyer before doing something like this to double check on legality and what could happen, hey it would be funny, I wouldn't mind throwing in some cash for a fun cause :) Isn't there any x-jw lawyers that could advise us here?
