Just don't know what to do.

i disagree on some doctrine with the organisation.

yet, i also know these are the kindest,most loving people on earth.

such people must be guided by the holy spirit.

Sadly you imagine that what you did while a teenager is what life is outside of the watchtower. What you did was rebel and many kids go through that. When people who leve watchtower without knowing the truth about the watchtower religion feel guilty and feel that they aren't worthy of life. Some may explode nd go wild and it appears that's what you did and some implode which may led to suicide. Some who leave watchtower without knowing the facts return to the cult as their lives have not improved without the "mother" religion as they are still prisoners to the religious teachings. Some find the truth and get help to overcome the mental abusee caused by the watchtower while others live their lives with guilt never returning and never finding out that watchtower is a fraud.

Now, what you should do, is do a thorough research into their teachings and history to see what watchtower really is. Yes, there are a lot of good people trapped in the religion but that can be said also of many other religions and the sincere people who attend their church services. You don't need to become an athiest, nor do you have to become an agnostic but many of us have for different reasons for choosing that path. As you aren't kid anymore you can tell the difference between choosing friends that will be true to you in or outside of religion and I'm not talking about within watchtower religion as these friendships are only dependant on you following the watchtower teaching even as wrong as some of it it - that is a cult mentality. The watchtower "friends" for most part will abandon you once you state publicly your view on teachings that oppose that of the watchtower and in my book these are not true friends.

There is nothing black and white and we don't have all the answers nor does anybody else. Part of growing up is knowing who you are and what you're doing is benefitting you and if you want it may benefit others but it's not dependant of being prisoner of someone needing to tell you how to act and what to be like to gain prize that is a dream. There are many who are not watchtower followers who believe in god and there are those who even have similar views on basic watchtower doctrines, after all basic watchtower doctrines didn't originate with Russell. This is a good board to learn about watchtower history and ask questions for your own research and hopefully you don't believe everything we say without double checking it for yourself as you owe it to yourself to do a proper research into the watchtower teachings and history. More you learn the more feelings you will experience that you have been lied to by the organization that you put faith in and you will start your healing process which takes time. If you need watchtower old publications for reference we can direct you as IMO those references confirm what watchtower taught and what they hide from their present followers and the new recruits as they like to label their past as old light and not important.

however the bible also says that 'all sin and fall short of the glory of god'.

this means that we can only partially obey the commandment to be sinless.

My reply was towards what Christianity teaches, it has nothing to do whether God or Jesus existed nor does it had to do with anything whether religion is a simple fantasy taught through the ages. These conclusion one arrives at some point in their life, be it for or against the belief in God but at this point Paul still believes and that's his choice. Argueing God/evolution is like asking how god didn't have the beginning and how is that possible, well same can be argued where did all the energy come from that cause the big bang and/or what was there before - we simply don't know for certain. There are things we can't answer but we end up deciding for ourselves what we will believe in or won't believe in. With hopefully some unbiased research as to whether believing in God, evolution or aliens or a combination of these we can base our belief system on something that satisfies us personally. If Paul's question was partaining to Islam I couldn't make a comment since I wouldn't have a clue to their teachings.

Jesus was a sacrifice for all time and through Christ you have the foregiveness which you wouldn't have otherwise. If you are a Christian that is your whole basis for your salvation. Also some "sins" may not be actual sins other than what wts interpretated to be sins only appearred to be sins beacuse wts said they were. It's obvious that a Christian wouldn't go stealing and killing knowing it's wrong thinking that Christ's sacrifice will cover these sins as one would be abusing Christ's sacrifice.

rodriguez claims the watchtower will have a severe crisis in the years to come, as "the generation that wouldn't pass away" does pass away.

The funny thing will be when old geezers in Brooklyn die off and they will have to start appointing younger anointed, more anointed outside of Bethal means they will have to start importing new ones? Or will some higher ranking ones start partaking to move on up? Or will there be a new light that non anointed are now capable of leading the flock of god?

Time will only reveal that 1914 is a fraud just as much as wts. When will the cult split into newer jws sects?? But sure thing is that time will reveal everything in it's due time.

Looking for Physicians/Nurse Practitioners Observing JW Blood Rules

i am in urgent need of a medical professional (in coaatal carolina are - between charleston and savannah) for my jw wife -blood count dangerously low.. released from hospital with blood count at 5.5 and "there is nothing else we can do for you here that you cannot do at home (iron supplements, high iron/protein diet)..

I don't have an answer for you on blood alternative.... But you can try to reason with her that blood transfusion aren't forbid by the bible. Bible forbid eating it but if someone was hungry a transfusion would not keep them alive. At this point she's in a very sick state so I don't know if it's a good idea to make her question her believes but if she's getting worse I guess you don't have much to loose and I hope me saying this doesn't sound too cruel, and I apolagize if it does but you can ask her, is she willing to die for her religion even though her religion is not true faith and what if her religion is wrong and she dies in vain for believes taught by group of uneducated ordinary man. If you do decide to go that route maybe do some research before hand and point out that 607 is false date for the fall of Jerusalem and therefor 1914 is NOT true so Christ never returned invisibly and thus never selected watchtower as his organization thus making the leaders frauds. And is she willing to die for a dream where there may not be pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow as she believes.

I do hope your wife gets better so you have a better chance to show her a way out of the cult under better circumstances.

I was refering more to the feelings towards the past religion (believe system). I know that wts is one of the hardest cults to leave physically without a possible loss of family and so called friends but personal feelings towards wts believe system itself alside from the way of exit differ greatly IMO too. I find that the feelings after leaving wts linger longer and are more negative than after leaving other believe system when joining wts.

When I switched over to wts I felt some anger towards my former religion but it was NOTHING compare to what I feel towards wts. When I left the catholic church I was angry that I didn't really learn the bible, I didn't know that God had a name and that we prayed to images, and one of the big things was the expose of priests molesting kids. When I learned the truth about wts, one of the biggest things that made me realize that I had to leave was the false dates, but the pedophile scandel made me see clearer that wts was lying as much as rc. When I left rc I felt angry but I didn't dwell on wasted life, or wasted years as I grew up being a catholic but not in a strict religious family. The anger wasn't bitter nor did it last long since I got over it fairly quickly. Leaving wts was a totally different experience. I would describe my anger more like a rage and hatered of the GB and the wts leadership who are destroying so many lives with their BS! It's hard to just let go and leave the past - thus I'm still here a regular. From wts experience I know I will never join another religion and really I don't even know if there is a god or not and at present I really don't care.

Just curious how others describe their feelings towards their former religion after becoming a jw and similarities or differences after leaving wts.

charles taze russell: his life and times: the man, the millennium and the message by fredrick zydek is the latest biography on pastor russell, and i must say i am very impressed.

i have read other historiees on the pastor russell by zydek (all unpublished manuscripts) but this one is far better than the last one authored by charles redeker aq few years ago.

zydek is a catholic.. the author is neither a bible student or a jehovah's witness.

Speaking of Russell does anyone here have transcripts of Russell's divorce hearings? I'm still looking for these, and I was told by one the courts that these transcripts went missing while back but I hear that some people still have these.

Confused by answers given by friend

hello,im not sure this is the right place to post,anyway ive never been a jw but i have a very good friend that is,lately her mother has been telling me to go to the meetings and i went only once because after that ive been to research alot about them and i didnt like what i saw at all.. anyway the thing is that i asked my friend is the following.

"can you disfellowship jw with no problem?

"she said "yes,you just need to inform them".. i already knew the answer should be no cause they are shunned and this couldnt possibly be,.
