we hopefully all agree it is wrong to reject an entire race because we have found one of its member to be flawed, or to reject an entire concept an the basis of finding a flaw in its argument.

would not fair people look for a way to accept the good in the concept, modify the flawed portion and rejoice in what was gained from the refined concept?

it would also be wrong, as the wt does, to reject an entire institution because some of its precepts are flawed.

thanks for the reply and absolutely no animosity intended in my prior posts if they were perceived that way by yourself

i agree that perhaps one redeeming quality of wtbts association is a the gaining of at least a basic (if not distorted) familiarity with the bible

(wtbts tampering within the NWT is a whole subject in itself and one i shall leave to others far more capapble than myself here to expound upon)

as mentioned by others - gaining a familiarity with the bible is par for the course with any christian faith

if an organisation is attempting to portray itself as a christian faith there are certain foundations of that faith which must be included in the teachings of that organisation or the facade becomes too obvious

it's hard to preach christianity without christ (though the wtbts does an outstanding job of covering this fundemental biblical teaching up)

the question seems to be is the form of christianity presented by the wtbts a replica of that presented by the bible?

without the org/mediatorship man made concept in the mix the message of the bible is very simple

with it you have your present mental/spiritual condition

the insidious nature of this condition though is that it's almost impossible to see if you've got it and then if you can see it you believe it's not that serious

how the hell i managed to escape god only knows

like many here have expressed i had no inclination to read the bible for many many years after giving myself permission to leave the wtbts

their interpretation of the bible completely ruined the bible reading experience for me

it's ok to get off the treadmill for a while even if it's just to see what it feels like

australia's service report for january shows 59,111 reporting and just 42 baptized.. this compares with 59,908 and 98 last year.

the 1999 figures were 60,917 publishers and 56 baptized.. this represents a 3% drop in just two years.. ozzie (of the new world statisticians class)

trying to understand

i'm 18 and my boyfriend is 16 and an active jw.i'm a baptist and very stong in my belief and love of god.my boyfriend and i haven't been together that long but were very serious and plan on getting married (when the time is right).we both know that we have no intentions of raising our children jw but as baptist and he tells me that he wants to get out of jw but right now its very hard for him because he still lives with his parents and his mother and oldest sister are very active jw.and i understand all that its just that because i love him so much i want to understand about his life and the way he was raised and what he was raised to believe but hes made it very clear that he doesnt want to explain it or talk about it hes told me some stuff but very little.i'm just wondering about their beliefs and what the jw's have to say about us dating and just any information anyone can provide!!!

The WT has some extreme defects that others do not, yet they have some commendable teachings and accomplishments.

what if the commendable teachings and accomplishments
aren't as extreme as the defects?

what's the ratio between the two?

imho i would not be allowing to wide a margin for defect

and having people believing in their (wtbts)

commendable teachings and accomplishments

seems at the very core of the
wtbts brainwash strategy

to me

commendable teachings and accomplishments

the plan (brainwash/indoctrination) won't work without those factors built into the equation

why else would they be in there?

for our benefit?

is what makes it so brilliant

ones belief in that statement is proof that the commendable teachings and accomplishments angle works brilliantly within the framework of the wtbts brainwash/indoctrination facilitation program

to perpetuate

their (wtbts's) worldwide literature sales & real estate acquisition based dictatorial power regime

it seems to me

that the whole wtbts regime falls apart without the commendable teachings and accomplishments facade

it seems to me that no ones gonna buy (the wtbts)if it doesn't taste a little sweet

while-ever one is swallowing the spoonful of commendable teachings and accomplishments sugar they are allowing the

the poison (all evidence to the contrary) to go down

in the most delightful way.

i wasnt really trying to trick any newbies - i was just really stoned and was trying out what i'd seen others do as illustrated above.

though i do know that if you are a schizo poster you do have to be careful about your sign offs etc.

ie. sign on as one of your personalities and sign off as another one of your personalities.

the cut and paste/insert of other users handles seems to be a good way to cover your tracks/muddy the waters if schizo posting is your bag.

am i really telling you anything new?
