jws said it. Belief in the bible requires that you accept plainly that death entered through sin, verses like Gen 3:22 and "the wages of sin are death" and romans already quoted, state this plainly. Can I ask just what your belief is now?

Who here has just let the JW stuff go?. I NEED HELP GUYS!!!!!!!.................
by oompa in....i am so frikkin obsessed about the jw lies and my newfound truths about them, and it is prob driving me crazy or causing depression.....if i wake up in the middle of the night, i never get back to sleep as my mind starts racing about jw crap and how it affects my marriage, and then how can i make this marriage work with her such a hardcore dub....i told my wife i now realize i am an abusive husband.....i must stop talking to her about the real truth!!
!..........it is killing her inside and we have had soooo many bad discussions that turn into arguments......on top of that she says she is now closer to jah and the org than at any other time in her life, that now that she has no positive direction from me, she relies totally on jehovah and prays to him more than ever..... we talked about separation, and that i was going to lose her over our religious differences........i feel so sorry for what i have put her through, and i know that if i can not really shut up with my ohsohelpful comments of truths about this truth she will leave me due to "spiritual endangerment".......and she said she is damm close to that happening.....i told her i knew it to and would so hate to lose her due to our religious differences.
at my recent shepherding call, they said to try and stop focusing on the negatives i have found in jw, and focus on the good things...and that is not a bad idea even if i never go back to meetings....there are good things about dubs....the efforts at ending racism and at least for me, some really good lifelong friends.......even their hope for the future was pretty good to me, even though it is a bunch of crap and i no longer believe the bible is gods word or inspired.....it does have some good suggestions for a happy life and ideas as to how to treat others........but so do just about every holy book of other faiths........ i had plans to start going to some meetings with my wife, but today, after a sleepless night i told her i just dont think i can do it, and just as she strongly believes it is the truth, i do not, and that i think the guys on the gb are not led by holy spirit cause if she will read the proclaimers book, she will see we have never gotten a single bible inerpretation of prophecy correct.......so she says "so what is there?

Oompa.. I know how you feel, except not as extreme, my friend and I disagree in the same way. He never wants to discuss some biblical matters which we can't agree on because he feels it hurts our friendship. I think Sir82 had the best advice. Ultimately, alone, we can do nothing, so focus on your own life, and keeping God's laws, and praying for your wife. You may feel at times, that you can offer some light to her, and that should always be kindly right? Also, keep in mind what the bible says, about 'telling people they are wrong'.
David was responsible for Uriah's death, and so Nathan approached him with a story. Only after realising the grave mistake was his own, did David see the error of his ways and repent with his face to the floor for a week. Heavy.
It's easy to have zeal against belief that you don't share.. but what if you are wrong? I could have a debate with you about keeping the correct Sabbath, but that may not convict you. I think, as soon as you accept that, fire doesn't work against fire, you have to go back to the bible, and find the answers for helping those you love..
P.S. JW's believe (and correctly I believe) that divorce is not allowed, except if adultery is part of the equation. It might be wise to remind your wife that God wants you to stay together, and that God also wants you both to settle your differences. It may not be easy... but, somethings are just not.
P.S.2. How do you get more posts allowed? Is everyone limited to 10 every 24 hours? ack. And why are there no JW's on this forum? :P

Wanting to understand the beliefs about Jesus
by givecake inhello guys,.
i was talking to a jw friend recently, and he couldn't quite communicate to me an understanding of the belief about jesus.
i managed to find that jw's believe that jesus is a god, but not god the father, is that true?

-LWT,
mm. ok, thanks. So basically, the JW belief is that there is only one God, but, many others that are *named* gods? And additionally, that those named gods by God, represent God to some degree.. in judicial capacity or some manifestation of power?
In this example:
Whatever the reason, Bowman also fails to consider the example of Moses. He was truly a righteous man and was called "God" by Almighty God in Exodus 7:1. Exodus tells us that Moses was made "as God to Pharaoh"[2], and Moses acted as God to Pharaoh by pronouncing judgment on him and the rest of Egypt. Surely Moses was not called "God" in irony!
This is a really bad example IMO, because God said that Moses would be "as God to Pharoah" and this meant that Pharoah would behold manifestations of God's power through Moses, HOWEVER, Moses always referred to the Lord God Almighty, to Pharoah and to Israel, never (except that time in the wilderness) claiming he had the power himself. So clearly.. When God said this, there is no allowing for us to call Moses, God. It was just an illustration of how Moses was to be God's representative, not a lasting title in the least. We can see that, coz that's the only place God says it - in illustration.
Mitchell's argument makes me want to take out my brain and scratch it.

Slim, I had a look over those links. Thanks.
Kinda confusing :S The guy doesn't seem to have a flare for writing! I can't say I agree with him.. but then, I'm biased =) Not sure if I agree with Bowman either. Don't really know his arguments. How thoroughly boring :D I guess if I was a more educated man, I could find some interest in it.

Hello guys,
I was talking to a JW friend recently, and he couldn't quite communicate to me an understanding of the belief about Jesus. I managed to find that JW's believe that Jesus is a god, but not God the Father, is that true? That would mean two living gods right?
Thanks for any clarification.
