Sure there is a lot of pain in this world we are living, so much suffering, wars, children starve to death, violence. There is no end in that, and we aren't getting better as humans...

If There was a Cosmic Pain meter...
by cofty inimagine that it was possible to precisely measure the amount of suffering in the world at any given moment - a cosmic "pain meter".
decide for yourself what the unit of measurement would be.. we can only imagine a fraction of the combined suffering that is being felt right now.
physical pain, emotional despair, grief, desperation, loss, terror and hopelessness.. of course if there is an omniscient god then he knows to the last iota what that theoretical meter would read right now.. the bible contains a number of answers to the question of suffering - ever since the babylonian exile one popular answer has been to blame his nemesis the devil, "we know that we are children of god, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH
by oompa inand i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.
but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .
how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

A.M. Number, many of us in this forum, including my self, we have been through similar situation. Even I managed to survive my exit, with terrible losses, at the end of the day there is life out here in the real world. I wish I could see this posting before Oompa, and send you a PM like you did for me when I was going through the same situation. It seems that not everyone has the strength to cope with mental issues that created from WT after leaving the mind destructive cult.
I guess I have managed to overcome WT and that's why I wasn't visiting the forum like I used to, 11 years ago. I only wish that I did that, you never know...

non believers what if your wrong ?
by unstopableravens ini do not wish to debate anything here like i have said in the past i have much respect for most on this forum (believers and non believers) i am simply wondering if the atheist or non god believers every worry about what if your wrong?
it seems that many who were jw for so many years attach jehovah/yahweh with the watchtower and since the wt is wrong than god does not exist.
i ask this question only because i care about people and salvation thats why i want to help as many as possable come out of this cult,and since i truly believe in god i dont know what is in the cinscience of those who dont.

I do believe that there is a Creator. Now what I find hard to accept, is that this Creator will destroyed, or send to hell and torture a person for internity. I mean there thousands religions in the world, can any one tells me who holds the truth? I will need to spend my lifetime, searching who holds the truth. For sure creator is the ultimate expression of love and no matter what He will show forgiveness...

Can't stop crying...I'm reading the messages that he send me...he was such a nice and carring guy and he seemed strong. Two of my best friends killed themselves, due to WT...now another one was added on the list....I just hate WT...

That is really sad...I've been to this forum since 2001 and he was one of my favorite posters...although I don't come very often, like I used to, still this forum will be different without him...

The ONLY thing that Russell got right (actually borrowed the idea) was the relocation of the Jews in their homeland, Israel, after 2000 years. Then Booze Jo came and changed that, claiming that the Bible verse was not a fulfillment for the natural Israel, but the "spiritual". In the confused mind of WT leaders everything has 2 meanings and fulfilments. So the entire idea changed and they tried to fullfil the scriptures upon them.
Unfortunately the State of Israel was formed, after the end of WWII, few years after the death of Jo. Since WT gave so much attention (that the Annointed class are the spiritual Israelites) they couldn't go back to their previous teaching, that eventually was correct. At the end of the day a false prophet is false, an evidence that they haven't got a future event correct yet, even though they had the change to show evidence of their "divine guidance", they failed once more by rejecting the relocation of Israel.
