Does Anyone Still Believe in God?
by LaurenM indo any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?
even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.
the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

Thank you all for your comments. It seems like a hard task to get back. I will keep you updated.
@Flipper, good to hear from you my friend, I guess is hard for you as well, and you are not even disfellowshiped!!!
@Truthexplorer, thanks for the info you shared. Just to clarify, you have been reproved, but not disfellowshiped, and yet it took 9 years to lift of the restrictions?!?!

God, at least a year!!!!! NO WAY DUDE....that will have a negative impact for my health. If I take into consideration that I was kicked out due to apostate views and associating with apostates(I had communication with Ray Franz), then what chances do I have? And also in no way I will sit and discuss my "sins" in the last 10 years. If they like to quote from the prodigy son parable, and they are encouraging people to come back the have to follow what the example of the parable. Did the father of the son asked him to wait couple of years in order to accept him back, or he was happy because he returned and accepted him without any terms and conditions?
I know from personal experience that a person who was disfellowshiped and reinstated in less than 4 months, and I was surprised because they knew that there was some involvement of apostates, despite the fact he was disfellowshiped for fornication.

Thanks all for your comments, really appreciate it. I have been through a lot of turmoil to take that decision, Well I found a way to get way with all that crap, I read "Crisis of Conscious" at the meetings!!! I love tablets!
Since I have lost complete contact with WT the last 10 years, in fact I have logged into the forum to find out what is the "new light". I thought I could just break free. I really don't know what is the process of the reinstatement, and most of all how long it will take. Does anyone from here knows the time frame for that process. To be honest that is my major concern and I hope is not going to take long.
My dad Diogenesister ( you played nicely with the words for your name) has passed way before I was disfellowshiped. The point with my health is still I'm able to function as I used, but it takes more effort to the things I used to do.
I know how to "play" around with the cult, I have lot of excuses to avoid them and become inactive once more, Plus my work evolves frequent flights at least once a month. My plot is to reinstate, and immediately I will change cong since the current one is far from my place. Then I will use excuses, work and health issues and hope they will leave me in peace.
Again thank you all for your comments

http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/167938/my-life-reaching-dead-end-need-way-out
Fast forward I left home and moved to another country that offered me a good job opportunity, and by doing this I have managed to leave behind (as I thought it will WT and all the problems that followed). The pressure of returning back never seems to end. I guess being a son of CO it wasn't acceptable to leave the Borg.
Things became more difficult for me when I found out lately that I have developed a chronic disease and as a result more pressure is put on me to return back, since my family are all in the Borg and they would like to visit me without the restrictions of the shunning policy by the WT. I feel so trapped in the WT prison. I went to the so called Memorial this year, and attended few meetings to see if I can take it. Well I felt like complete stranger and nothing can connect me back to their matrix world. I'm thinking to give a try and then fade out. I don't know....did anyone faced similar situation? Any thoughts or advice will be helpful

Just a final contribution for my friend Oompa, and also a friend for many of us in this forum. A PM that he send me, and I feel I want to share it with all of you.
I don't know where you are Eric, but we will never forget you....until we meet again
" i have followed your story, but that slipped my mind. if me and my wife dont work things out maybe i can be you room mate!....i have always wanted to go to greece and your islands...i love to sail and have wanted to charter a yacht there someday. How old are your kids? It will not take long before they realize you were smart to leave...and they will want more freedom for sure by their teens. I feel there is nothing wrong with undermining everything JW that your wife tries to brainwash them with...tell them to wait till they are older to make religious decisions for themselves...no kid should have to believe what he is told by parents about such a major idea....good luck friend....go and be happy......eric"

Thanks for your comments all:
I agree with you yadda yadda, I feel just about the same...
And finaly Sir82, do you really believe that I'm leaving the forum, due to a depate????? By the way theory(Θεωρία) is a Hellinic word? Do you know the EXACT meaning of that word???? Without google it or search on line?
In many of my posts I said that I accept the Evolution Theory as a concept. But there is something beyond that as well. I was raised with the Books Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, and many other Hellenic Philosophers, that you are not aware with, and most of all, I have learned in order to reach for a conclusion to QUESTION EVERYTHING....
Thousands of years before Darwin, Greek Philosophers and Scientists, have set the foundations of the Evolution Theory. The entire Western Civilazation, is based upon the Hellinic Culture. Democracy, Architecture, Philosophy, and is not an accident that the majority of the words and terminology for Astronomical, Medical, Maths, Science are all Greek(Hellenic is the correct word). Do you know why? Try to talk about Darwin's Evolution without using a single Hellenic word, or become a doctor without using the Hellinic language... lets see if you can do that...
Thank you all for your comments, but is time to move on....

The Fossil Record: vs God Allowing Pain & Suffering
by Shanagirl inwhat a man does with the fossil record tells a lot about his worldview.
is it the result of a world-covering deluge?
or did this sorry chronicle of pain, suffering, and death precede humans (and the reign of death) by millions of years?

Cofty, I didn't said that I don't believe in Evolution...there was an Evolution process. The main issue is who is responsible for that?
No one, including Scientists(and the majority of them are part of the control system that exists today on Earth) knows, or holds the absolute truth.
I always have as my moto, one saying of our Great Philosophers, Socrates: " I know one thing that I know NOTHING".... and the Greatest of all Aristotle said: " It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it"
good bye to all, since I have made my last post,
all the best

I have been posting into the forum since 2001(my previous avatar was "justhuman" and when forum changed to net, I couldn't retrieve my old avatar so I had to use a similar one and log in again). Almost 15 years are gone. Made some friends here, including Mr Flipper and one that I really miss dearly is oompa. A really nice person that I had the chance to talk with through the net and the forum, and unfortunately he put an end to his life due to WT's shunning policy.
Although I haven't being posting a lot recently, still I feel, I need to close the subject WATCHTOWER, for good. Leaving WT cost my family, my life, lost long friends and relatives, I had to leave my home due to WT's policy of disfellowshiped and gone through very hard times, loneliness, depression, but I had to follow the long and narrow road. It would have been easier if I just stayed there, I have climbed almost all available "spiritual" steps in the WT ladder, and all I had to do was pretend, like many JW's are currently doing and "live" my life, with my children that I really feel empty not living with them. But no, that's not for me.
Personally I do miss the old forum and all timers that they left as well, plus I don't feel that this forum has nothing more to give me. It is like a dwelling place a harbour for many people out there, trying to set themselves free from WT''s tyranny and chains. Once they are ready, then they sail again. It has being my harbour for all those years, and help me a lot to exiting from the WT, but I need to carry on for my quest.
My spiritual journey is not over, I always seek and looking for answers, besides one of our Great Philosophers, Socrates said: " I know one thing, that I know NOTHING"...
The most important of all, is to remember all those who died in vain, due to blood issue, or put an end in their lives due to the WT Cult nature profile, and I feel sad to say that 2 close childhood friends I had, put an end to their lives because of the WT....
All I have to say is good luck to everyone, and the truth is out there...
