i don't believe so because the governing body member will come up with new reasons why armageddon hasn't come yet.

i was thinking they will reinterpret scriptures and stuff....

They can't hold on forever in 1914....so they will have to change that. They did for 1874, the supposed invisible presence of Christ, it was changed in the mid 30's, so it is about time for a new light, don't you think?

there is a lot of difference between failed prophesy, and FALSE PROPHETS...WT from their start as Bible Students(Jehovahs Witness are splitter group of the Bible Students)in 1874 A.D they have a tremendous record of FAILED predictions. Now, who is to blame? The Holy Spirit that suppose is guiding WT's GB(that appeared in the scene only in the 70's, since before that, FDS was Russel and Rutherford)

Bible Students believed that Armageddon will start in 1914...nothing happened

Then they moved to a new date in 1916, again nothing happened(well Russell died)

Then Judge Jo takes over the power of the WT, by removing all the Board of Directors that Russell chose, declares them as 'Evil Slave', and becomes the ruler of the WT. Then he comes with a new date:1925 that it will marked the start of the Ancient Prophets(Noah, Moses, David, etc etc)and they will LEAD in Armageddon. He bought a nice villa in San Diego Cal. had 2 limousines(at that time only a handful of people in the entire US could afford to buy those, and Jo was one of them)and he waited for the resurrection of the Prophets. Nothing happened in 1925 and the Millions who supposed not to die, well they died, along with Judge Jo in 1942, feeling complete sure that Great Tribulation started(it was WWII)and they are only few months away of Armageddon, according to his last speech in an Assembley.

Well since there was no resurrection of the Ancient Prophets, WT sells the mansion, and Freddy Franz comes with a new date of the end. 1975...After a second calculation of Genesis record and Bible Geneaology he found out that 6000 years of creation will end in 1975, since Russell made a slight mistake of 100 years!!! So instead of 1875, 6000 years ends in 1975, the APPROPRIATE time for God to ACT. After WT's encouragement, puplic talks, many sold their property, stayed without education and went on preaching since the world would end in 1975....

Well 1975 passed by and nothing happens, so instead of apologizing to their followers, 2 years after, Freddy Franz blamed the JW's because the end didn't come in 1975, plus in WT article they said they weren't sure how much time Adam was alone, before God created Eve!!!

But still the end was close since the Generation that will witness the invisible presence of Jesus, that occured in 1914(until mid 30's WT believed that the presence was in 1874)and they will be ALIVE to witness Armageddon, since a generation can live 70 years, so we have 1914 plus 70=1984...Well it happened for me to be teenager at that time, I quit school to become pioneer because the end was so close. Plus our preaching work was separating the sheep from the goats. A separation that started in 30's(according to Judge Jo)

So I quit school, I quit a promising carreer as a musician and I preached about the Generation that by no means will pass away and the end will come until 1995...Suddenly the 'Holy Spirit' decides to change the light!!! The generation became contemporay, and the separation of the sheep and the goats will done by Christ and not from us... so for 11 fuc*ing years I was preaching a false gospel, ruined my life for something that now it will be considered 'apostate' teaching if I continue to preach.

Then the Holy Spirit changes His mind and decides that the Generation is the anointed ones who witness the sign. But you can't trust WT's holy spirit, since it can change view from time time, and indeed it did change the light(again) saying that the Generation means the lifes of those anointed ones who witness the sign that overlaps the life of the new anointed ones...

What does this mean? It means that my grandfather who was anointed and died in the 60's, when I was only 2, his life has overlap my life!!! So I'm 42 now and if I decided to become anointed that will extend the end for another 40 years! Now if my grand child borns in 10 years from now and when he becomes 35-30 years old decides that he is anointed(since the heavenly door that was closed since 1935 was opened again in 2008)the life of my grand child will overlap my life who was overlaped by my grandfather....

dear debator, God is not a God of confussion. Unfortunately WT created a mess that they can get away from it. Dates based upon Russell's pyramidology like the destruction of Jerusalim at 607 B.C instead of 587 B.C, and many more linked to that day that WT cannot get way.

The GB are liars and False Prophets and they KNOW it, all the care is about POWER and MONEY...They never cared about the truth.

Bible says God confused peoples languages at Babel....is this childish nonsense?

yeah so in genesis we read how people began building a tower which would reach up to jehovah in heaven....must have been damn tall....rather then just stop them, god changes everyones language.....one guys speakin french.....another speakin russian and so on!

can't finish the tower now can they!!

this is not very scientific......does anyone believe this is how languages got started???

Chinese is a 5000 year old language and along with the Hellenic are the only old languages in the World that they are still spoken. We have to take into consideration when the first civilazation started and the location.

We know it was in Mesopotamia, when we have the first organized cities and laws and the first recorded law was the Hammurabi Code. That is why all of the legends and stories have common things, like Noahs Flood, based upon the oldest story of Gilgamesh in Sumeria.

There is also Egypt that indeed has tremendous history that goes back 7000 years and shares many common thinks with Creteans, but the oldest languages are still spoken today are the 2 above. So China has nothing to do with Mesopotamia area, that means they developed their own language long before the story of Babel, and Greece has nothing to do with the Semetic language, since the Hellenic language is different, in writting and sound, that is why the word Barbarian, comes from the Greek -Varvarus(β?ρβαρος) and it was used for those who didn't speak Hellenic, and specially for those living in Mesopotamia. So when Greeks listen to them speaking, it sounded like var-var-var-var(exactly like when you listen to Arabic language that has Semetic origins)so in order to give a linguistic definition, Greeks called the non-Greeks-Varvari (barbarian)

English that is a modern language is based 40% upon Greek words, latin, French,Celtish, Saxon. So taking into serious consideration the Babel story there are many thinks that don't fit.

Since I know from first hand Muslim religion and mentality I would say some fact: First I do have Muslim friends that I love and we have no problem to live in peace. What I'm worried of is the way that Europe and US are acting and promote Fundamentalism on the one hand, and on the other they tolerate things that they shouldn’t.

In UK there was an issue with Public toilets and the Muslims demand to have special toilets (there is a special hose to wash your as* when you finish) In France they demanded to wear Sharia in the Universities. It created turmoil amongst the French and at the end the Officials didn’t accept it.

Now what if I’m in a Muslim country and I wear a cross? In some it is forbidden. What if a Muslim change religion and becomes Christian? In Persia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, just to name a few, you will be beheaded if you dare to change your religion. On the other hand the Muslims demand to own their mosques in Christian countries, and I’m glad that in Australian Government didn’t accept some issues that Muslims raised. It was a clear answer: This is a Christian Country, if you don’t like it you can go some place else!!!

We know how women are treaded in those countries. A second class human being without any rights at all, that is subject to her husbands will. At the Court she cannot defend herself, and in cases of rape, it ends to be stoned for fornication, instead of protecting her!!!

There is new wave of Muslim Fundamentalism emerging seriously. Turkey has a plan to become the leading country of the Muslim world. It was published by the Turkish Foreign Minister Davoutoglu, in a book with the title “Strategic Depth”. The plan is to make Turkey a Muslim and I repeat, a Muslim super power in the Islamic World, from China to Bosnia, plus to use the Turkish immigrants who stay in Germany, England, France, on their behalf. They will use their influence to the Muslims all over the World, by building Mosques, Theological Universities and to build an Islamic attitude amongst the people, in order to create their super power.

Is this an ambitious plan? No, I don’t think so. Personally I have seen the destruction of World Wide Heritage Christian sites by the Turks. Christian Churches 1700 years old have turned into stables and public toilets. Cemeteries complete destroyed, broken crosses, the corpses they were removed from the graves and thrown to the dogs. I have seen from first hand systematic destruction of the Christian Heritage in Constantinople, Smyrna, Ephesus, the occupied part of Northern Cyprus by the Turkish Troops since 1974. They are trying to vanish from the face of the earth from the places that they occupied from 1453 A.D any mark that shows a Christian monument or building.

There is a huge increase of Theological Muslim Universities in Turkey in order to create the Islamic mentality and culture and to promote Islamism amongst the Islamic world and in Europe and this means they are following their plan.

In the same book he said that in order to be the leader of the Islamic World they have to cut bonds with the Israel, since it does not look well to the rest of the Islamic World. Indeed this is happening since both countries are in a very bad situation, with the resent events in Gaza, when Israel attacked the ships who were supposed to carry humanitarian help, and most damage was done on the Turkish boat. This event gave bonus to the Turks in front of the eyes of the Arab World. Turkey that fights for the human rights of the Palestinians, forgetting the fact that human rights are violated in Turkey, and specially the human rights of the Greek Orthodox & Assyrians Christians, Armenians, and Kurds. A country that committed genocides and Ethnic cleansing of the groups that just mentioned above for the last 80 years, a country that occupies since 1974 the 37% of Cyprus, a country member of the UN & EU, committed war crimes, created 240,000 refugees in their own land, did ethnic cleansing of the occupied land in order to vanish anything that is not Muslim.

Don’t forget that they provide support to Persia lately with their nuclear program and this is something that many Western countries are taking into consideration.

My question is: Have our Government’s ever protested to this Islamic Countries regarding the human rights and specially the women? No, because they are too busy drilling Oil and making Millions from it

What will happened when Oil finishes? What will happened when Muslims infiltrate Europe, US? Are we are going to be strong enough to tell them: “Listen guys you have to do something about human rights and specially the way you tread women”.

I was in the worst situation of the JW world. Teenager at the early 80's...boy there was a lot of preasure that time, not to seek wordly education and become pioneers. I left school to become one, because the end was sooooooooooo f*cking close...25 years passed ever since, and the end is still close...

I have quit school, never took care of my future because the end is near. I left in my early 30's but my life was wasted. Now all alone without any help I'm struggling to get a discent sallary, but there is no way I can do that, due to my low skills. WT wanted us to be window and toilet cleaners, while my 'wordly' friends they are in a much better possition than me, since they all got educated and earing a respectable sallary...

What this world does provide, is many avenues of escapism entertainment that stop us seeing our lack.

I totally agree with this statement debator. Just watch the recent World Cup in South Africa. Billions around the globe for an entire Month they sit in front of their TV screens to watch the games. Countries like Brazil, Argentina, who suffers a lot of poverty they forget their problems and just sit and watch. Even Spain, the World Champions in Football is facing serious financial problems and is considered to follow the footsteps of Greece.

But look what happened: They are all happy, celebrating because of this. But this is just a tip of the iceberg. What I can see from the controlled Media around the Western World, is a system build to move away the attention of the people from serious problems. Even news is not actually news, just fabricated events. We have a huge flaw of reality shows; either has to do with music, action, survivor, or anything you can imagine.

What they are doing about the serious problems that this planet is facing? NOTHNG...We are too busy watching American Idol, or Survivor, to THINK about our real problems and what is happening to this planet: Pollution, child labor, trafficking, child pornography, Human rights, women rights in most of the Islamic countries. We don't care really for others or how to make this place a better world for the future generations.

We don’t mind buying a brand shoes or cloths from a country that people work for a Euro a day to make our clothing, or even worst a child of 6 is working 14 hours a day for a plate of food. We drive our luxury cars, polluting the environment, while we could have an environmental friendly car. We drink water from plastic bottles and through them way, without caring if that empty plastic bottle will need many years to melt.

We sit on our sofa, watching TV programs that makes us stupid, eating junk food, drinking beer or coke, gettin literally and mentally FAT, unable to think…

something in the news, i think, about women clergy got me thinking that all religion, particularly in the past, has been based on man's superiority over women.

i, for one, wouldn't want to join any religion in which i was second class to penis less people.. i was after all made in god's image whereas women were not.. .

i can't help but think that religion has been a great force for perpetuating sexual discrimination.. .

Indeed...at the early human societies and religions Woman was the head of the Family and the leader of the community. This started to change just 4000 years ago and changed completely starting with Judaism and the Patriarchs, then moved to Christianity and Islamism. The last ones are the worst, they have turned Woman into an object and not HUMAN

I don't think that this video is true. WT is not so stupid to mess with privacy law, and specially in EU...Perhaps is just a video from someone who wanted to make a joke involving WT...

Plus, have in mind that there are JW's who are on their way out from the WT, and believe me if they have a slight opportunity to take WT to the court they would do it, and this is an apportunity that you will grap it from the hair.

WT knows that indeed there are many who would like to kick their asses in court, so I don't think they are so stupid to do that, and remember WT is run by lawyers...

Hi Desi,

I have been through the same situation like you, but 10 years ago. Unfortunately when children are involved it makes thinks more hard. You can look at my previous posts, as justhuman, to see my situation.

I was MS, all my family JW's and many in 'high' places. My questioning started after the first generation change in 1995. I was really agry about that, since I spend the best years of my creative life(18-27)to be a regular pioneer. I quit school, cause the end was near(mid 80's, with all the mess in Brooklyn).

I quit a career as young and promising musician. Plus I turned down business deals, that years after I realize it was a terrible mistake. In just five years after 1995, I became innactive. I couldn't stand their lies and false promises. After that in order to support my family, I had (and still)work 2-3 jobs, just to get the basic salary. And all that due to WT's FALSE promises.

I was turned to the elders for apostasy 2 times by my wife. The last I decided that I had enough of the crapsh*t and just wanted to leave. As a result I had to end my marriage, since my faithful wife, created lot of turmoil.

You have indeed a very hard tusk. You will have to make your mind what you want to do. Perhaps the best think is to fade at the moment. But in my case I realize that within the WT world there is no real love. As long as you are in the Club and follow the rules, is ok. When you decide that you don't feel to follow that, then your life is messed up.

In my case I just didn't care anymore about their religion. Most importand was my peace on mind, and with clear mind I could plan my future and what is best for my 2 children.
