Has anyone done evolution on a computer? Not necessarily as a game but as a science exercise? I remember Richard Dawkins' biomorphs, but have there been others? I heard once about people doing experiments with predator and prey robots, where they left them in a warehouse for a while to see what behaviours they developed (the robots had software capable of learning), but have people been doing purely computer based evolution simulation? I'll have a google, see what comes up.

after reading jt stumbler's topic on avatars, i recognised that certain avatars appeal to me, and i'm sure others feel the same.... .

elsewhere (no idea why, gimme a clue), ezekiel3 (says a lot), euphemism (loved the marx bros) and googlemagoogle (so classical) spring to mind, oh, ip_sec's last avatar (the red pyramid) - want to revert back ip_sec?

oh, and stillajwexelder - after reading your posting on jt stumbler's thread i realise i previously had the wrong impression - lol.

Back in the day of animated avatars, didn't Funchback used to have the one with the kid being hit in the face with a ball? That used to crack me up every time I saw it. He kept getting hit, and he kept standing back up for more punishment.

oh man oh man, I can't WAIT for that. I've been hoping someone would do a game like this. Autumn next year? bugger. Come on, hurry up already!

I hope there'll be a multiplayer version, so I can send my super-mutant alien race out on a few "exploration" missions, you know, the kind where you invade someone elses planet and take all their stuff.

Cuckoo, you know already how I feel about your avatar. If by "appeal" you could also mean "haunt, terrify, wake you up in the night screaming and sweating", then your avatar "appeals" to me
