they said that there is a new revised age requirement, and it is 62 or older.
he again clarified 62 or older, single, and a ministerial servant or an elder.. do you think they feel they've put enough young brothers through the school and now they want old retired individuals who they can send anywhere?

They said that there is a new revised age requirement, and it is 62 or older. He again clarified 62 or older, single, and a ministerial servant or an elder.
Do you think they feel they've put enough young brothers through the school and now they want old retired individuals who they can send anywhere? Most retired people will have social security or a pension coming in, so they won't have to worry about the person leaving their assignment soon because they can't make ends meet. And they are probably less likely to marry soon after they graduate from the school and have their attention divided by their new wife.
Also they stated if you are under 16 years of age, male, and even if you are not baptized you can attend this meeting; to learn more about the MTS and other spiritual goals.
Anyone else heard of this age change recently?

There must be no song numbers on the program since they are changing song books in Janaury. They must just announce at the assembly the song numbers, that way they didn't need to print two programs.

The funny thing is the PO, Service Overseer, and secretary don't hound me at all about 0 hours. If I turn in a 0 to the secretary he's fine with it. He says "just so you turn in a slip so I can record it."

Service group overseer called Thursday before the meeting looking for my May time. He tells me to email it to him and gives me his email address. I email once from my cell, and from my pc when I get home; and I leave a voicemail for him. In all the messages I told him I had no time for May so he'll have to put zero down.
This morning he leaves a message on my cell saying he can't put zero down because that'll make me irregular and his group will look bad. He asks me to really think if I did at least something and to call him back with the number he should put down for my time.
So I called and left him another message today and said "I had no time for May so you'll have to put ZERO down". We'll see if I get a call after the meeting.
He got pissed at me before because he never came around until I didn't turn my time in. One other time when I didn't have any and told him and he said "we really want to keep you regular". I said "why is that so you're group looks good?" I said " why didn't you take an interest at all during the month when you didn't see me out, or call after you never see me out on Saturday's to see if I needed any help getting in the ministry?" All he would say is "we just really want to keep you regular. It's important that you get out." I think it's a number game so he looks good.

Saturday PM last talk " Bearing Thorough Witness About God's Kingdom. - 224 Page book. won't be used in ministry. examines good examples of 1st century christians from the book of acts, regarding ministry and organization of congregation.
Sunday PM last talk - announcement of cd available Sept 1 which will include orchestra and vocals of 17 of the new songs in the song book.
I attended convention in Billings MT. Had 4 bethel speakers. Lon Schilling and Philip Brumley were the heavies.

My guesses for releases are that the last talk on Friday - there will be a tract with different verses that should move a person to keep on the watch. That may be used instead of the Keep on the Watch brochure since I believe they aren't printing that anymore.
On Saturday I think it may be a book to replace the one from 1984 Survival Into a New Earth. There was a chapter in there about not longing for the things behind, and different areas in the book where it refered to Jesus apostles being watchful. There hasn't been a book recently about paradise or the events that will lead into that, aside from where it is mentioned in the bible teach book, in the mags, etc. On the back of the Awake it does group the last two talks on Saturday together so they will probably start off about not looking to what's behind, then talk how Jesus apostles kept on the watch and maybe release a book on that.
Recently in past years the books have been either to teach doctrine, about conduct, about Jesus, directed to children, etc.
That's my guesses anyways.
