Do all religions think there's is the only true one?
by Snoozy inis there any religions out there that actually think that any religion is good as long as you worship?.
or do they all think the other religions are under the control of satan/the devil.. funny, i knew that the jw's felt that way but never really thought about the other religions.. is there any humble enough to admit they don't have all the truth and aren't any better than any other religion?.
that's the one i want to join... snoozy.

I have often wondered whether any of the word attributed to Jesus were actually his at all :)

Did the Nazi colonel from "Inglourious Basterds" remind anyone else of...
by inkling in... a circuit overseer?.
that first scene, with the searingly tense, sinister, faux-friendly visit and "conversation" over the glass of milk... the loaded-gun smile, and ominous bookbag... something about his manner made think of some just horrific shepherding call.. (and no, i am not literally equating cos/elders with nazis... i am just saying the tone was reminisent, to me, of such meetings.).
[inkling].

I agree the guy who played Hans Landa was superb. Chillingly malevolent. I did find it tricky to listen to Brad Pitt's accent and for a while wondered if his character had some kind of brain damage or speech impediment.

Hi Terry
In the absence of Christian comment, perhaps I can play devil's advocate (pun intended)?
I think some of the above calculations assume that two demons cannot occupy the same space in our dimension :) - if this is possible then potentially the number is limitless.
Also, perhaps this is a reference to the number of demons which are able to control the person and that they only inhabit the body figuratively?
I suppose for a Christian, the question is 'does my soul inhabit my body or is it in some way separate but associated in such a way that it can exercise control?'. If it is the latter then I can see no theoretical limit to how many disembodied demons could exercise control over it either simultaneously - which I guess would make it difficult to do anything unless they act in concert - or one after another.
As far as the pigs are concerned, perhaps Jesus disconnected them from the human and attached them in some way to the pigs. The pigs being later destroyed would mean that the demons were no longer attached to the human, or anything else for that matter. Perhaps they simply re-assumed their former incorporeal existence. This would however raise the question of how they attached themselves to the person in the first place (which I don't think is addressed in the scripture in any detail) and what would stop them simply re-attaching themselves.

Has anyone read the book of mormom and compared to bible?
by EndofMysteries injust curious if the message is the same or anything extra in it.
i'll eventually read it to decide if i think it's in agreement and inspired.
to those who say no books would be added after revelation, i say read that scripture again, it's for the book of revelation itself.

You might want to check out The Sceptics Annotated Bible - it also includes analysis of the Book or Mormon and the Koran. From the bits of it I have read, it looks like someone barely literate tried to write 'Bible 2 - The Sequel'

I am not sure the Y2K problem counts as a failed prophecy. I spent 2 years working on the problem for a major bank toward the end of the 90s and there was a lot of repair work needed. If the financial industry (at least) had simply ignored it I think the consequences may have been severe. But probably not the end of the world lol .
