I guess if you're not DF or DA you could be marked as apostate. My recollection is that a person could be marked for a spacious reason - or am I imagining it? It was all long ago for me....

JW Study - OUT!!
by uk_ex_jw ina few months ago, i posted about a study who was getting baptised this summer at the upcoming dc.. we discussed a few things on fb.
i showed him evidence that the watchtower does not have the truth.
the last i heard was that he had gone to the elder's with the information i had given him.. i haven't heard from him since.. however, yesterday he contacted a jw, elder's son on fb.

by falseprophet ini was about 8-10 years old and twice i had people tell me that i should not pioneer but to go to bethel because i "was governing body material".. one was a co and another a do.. i didn't even believe in god, never have so that makes it weird!.

I can understand why people do wear em in some situations, though I personally wouldn't. My bro had head surgery when he was a kid and still wears a hat tho I don't think his injuries are really noticeable. Being follicularly challenged myself, I'd love a good head of hair lol

Very few of the witnesses I knew, or members of any organised religion really, could fairly be decribed as stupid or mindless.
In some ways it seems easier to understand born-ins as they are shaped from birth to fit in with the this religion. They usually know no different and perhaps many won't consider alternatives unless some life-event makes them consider their position. This seems to me to be human nature - as mentioned above.
Those who are recruited usually join for a reason - either already religious (as was I) and therefore already accepting the Bible (say) as an authority- from there it can be an easy task to demolish one set of beliefs and replace them WTS doctrine. In my own case, I was young, vulnerable and had no easy way to challenge what the witnesses were showing me. Bingo! Or they have some spiritual need and unfortunately JWs get to them with their slick patter, fear tactics and love bombing.
I think it is a lot easier now to research the background to the JWs than it was in the 80s and 90s. Also, my own thinking processes and critical thinking skills have definitely developed from what they were when I was a green 18 year old Catholic.
