  howdy all.. it's amazing how modernized the world is now.

  i'm wondering if any of you people think that computerized and new technology is taking away the fun of natural life?.

  eg 1. children are behind computers games more than playing in the park.

  Advice please re Police blunder

  in november last year my partner applied to become a police officer.

  he received a letter saying he had passed stage 1 and would be invited to stage 2 which was an assessment centre.

  stage 3 was a fitness test which he was sure to pass as he has been running 6 miles a night in preparation.. we received a letter in february 2006 telling us that 300 people had passes stage 1 but they only had 192 places at the assessment centre therefore he and 107 others had been 'randomly de-selected'.

  The programme is a good idea, but Dawkins is not the best man to deliver it. He's not the only atheist out there.

  My vote goes to Abaddon or FunkyDerek.

  4/ He quite quickly lost his patience in the face of religious dogmatism. Seemed like they had to keep cutting it short as he clearly got upset.

  I thought the christian minister and the muslim ex jew came across worse than he did. Both quite happily lied and spouted assertions that have been proven false over and over again.

  hmmm, The Root of ALL Evil ... even deranged puppy killers? For me, the title is a bit of a turn-off in that it uses such a broad brush, although I would be interested in the content.
