Forgiving them doesn't mean you have to have toxic people in your life.
You can forgive them (it's a gift you give to yourself) and still not associate with them.
after all these years, the two of them are still 'in' and i have been 'out' over 25 years.
neither of them could ever get along and i always played mediator.
they fight and disagree on everything!

hi newbie here, i have a question that is begining to bug me a little.
i am not a jw or ever will be but my partner was some years ago and quite devout about the religeon then she was df'd for commiting adultry with another man (not me) who was not a jw, she got divored from her jw husband and left behind her 2 boys and went to live with 'the other man', anyway over the years her relationship with her 2 boys began to grow again and now she see's them once every 2 weeks, i should perhaps point out that her ex is a devout jw, she has told me that she would like to at some point go back to the 'hall' and carry on her religeon, i said that i dont have a problem with that but, i wasn't keen on the idea of her walking the streets knocking on doors due to the amount of hatred that some poeple clearly have for jw's and the fact that we now seem to live in a violent world, yes i know that jw's have to do so much 'service work', she has told me that she has not visited a hall since her df so therefore has not repented her sins as it were but on sunday she said that there was an assembly in our local vicinity (it's the annual one) and she would like to go.
i found this a bit odd that someone who had been df'd would be allowed to go to the jw's event of the year so began to wonder if whilst visiting her sons she maybe did visit the hall to somehow show repent with a view to be allowed back into the faith.
Hi ptre,
I just read this thread now. Don't listen to Reniaa.
I am currently df'ed, with a 16 year old unbaptised daughter living with her father, who is an active jw. (But wouldn't be if the elders knew certain things about him....)
My daughter is CONSTANTLY being hounded by my ex, my idiot family and jw's in general to not have anything to do with me. It's a constant battle to stay close to her. And remember - she is not baptised and should be able to choose for herself.
hi guys and gals,.
i am a hypocryte.
brought up in the "truth" but know its not.
I am new here, too.
For the same reasons as you.
I have found alot of healing from this forum and from some of the "regulars" here - can't express my thanks to them because they don't realise how they have helped (Mrs. Jones, Mouthy, AllTime Jeff, Amazing, FlyingHighNow, JamieBowers, and even John Doe!!)
Keep reading, that's what I'm doing right now, too.
I'll watch for your posts....
i thought i would share some highlights from an interesting questions from readers (wt 52 6/15) that i recently cam across:.
why does not the watchtower society publish simplified material for parents to use in teaching their children bible truths?a question based upon frequent inquiries by readers.. .
...but from this we may not argue that the faithful and discreet slave class must publish special books for children.
In Timothy's day, Lois and Eunice did not have to compete with PS3's and Wii.
But they likely did try to make the scrolls interesting to a child, maybe drawing pictures and telling the stories in a simplified and animated way.

i studied with the witnesses when i was in high school, 1984 my father didn't care at all but my mother was against it.
about a 4 month book study with the paradise book.
we met at a nearby jw's house once a week for a couple of hours.. since i was only exposed to the teachings and the very kind people for a short time i have very good memories of my experience with book study and the jw's.. i'm alone and lonely and they knock and i talk.
Yes, this is all true.
Even though they quote from Matthew where Jesus says that if you give up family for his sake, you will gain even more.....
Even though they talk alot about "love among ourselves"....
Even though they know a requirement for Christians is the showing of hospitality.....
None of this is practiced on any kind of consistant level.
if it isn't then i'm sure a mod will move it for me .
but yeah, for those of you who were married as j-dubs, did you find that being a j-dub somewhat soured things in the saucy department?
lolz.
Ummmm......what is a "dutch surprise"?
just saw the episode of the simpsons where bart calls moe's tavern and asks for "amanda huggenkiss" and it made me laugh again .
amanda huggenkiss.
hugh jazz.

this is insanity!
literally four couples that i know closely & personally have told me in the last two weeks that they are divorcing their spouses.
and there are a couple on here whom i've discovered are separating as well (these two i do not know personally, but i'm a little surprised & saddened regardless).
Spike tassel -
Craziness goes against the principle of perpetual reasonableness???
What do you mean by this?
Maybe if more couples had some crazy sex, there would be fewer divorces.....
I had a Senegal parrot once. Nastiest little creature I've ever come across. I do not recommend.
