Questions for Thinkers, Part Deux
by SweetBabyCheezits ini am blatantly plagiarizing this from a 20th century email that claimed this was an open letter to laura schlessinger.
snopes has the real scoop on it's origins.
i'm sure it's been posted on jwn more than once in years past.

Who is your JWN BAMF?
by okage ini hope this thread goes somewhere, and i hope i put it in an acceptable category:.
the wts has spent around 130 years in underhanded practices and cult control.
we can all name at least two practices banned by the un as inhumane.. because of the control of information they have within their ranks and their often litigious nature outside of the "compound" walls, every bit of information on here is crucial in ensuring no one who visits jwn falls for the gimmicks and traps the society works to employ.. there are personal experiences that are troublesome and touching through the experience of freedom after years of endurement.

Who is your BAMF (Bad A$$ Mo Fo)
**chuckle**
"BAMF" is the skiing capital of Canada, but it's spelled "Banff".
I believe it is thus named, as that is the noise skiers make when they hit the bottom of the cliffs they ski over. BANFF!

They just said at the WT study that the wife needs to suck it up in a abusive home.
by life is to short ini was beyond shocked at this i do not know why i am shocked and i am shaking as i type this.
i decided to tie in by the phone line today, i live on the west coast and they are only on paragraph 3 yet a "brother" who had been an elder for years and who's wife left him years ago he is in his late 50's now just commented about selma and he said 'that later in the study it talks about a study who's husband was abusive physically and verbally, yet when the study complained the sister studying with her reminded her of who was the christian and the study realized that she was in the wrong and so her husband came in the truth.
' he said it is such a good example of how we should be.. i truly feel like throwing up.

Tomorrow's Watchtower Study: Steve hits Selma in North America... not South America
by Alfred ini started a thread a few days ago that probably went unnoticed for the most part (under "scandals & cover-ups") regarding steve hitting selma in tomorrow's wt study... i just wanted to recap it here for those who may have missed it.... the spanish version changes the story completely.... if you've read that paragraph 12 it basically says that steve hit selma as she tried to prove a point.
selma then feels sorry for herself.. in the spanish version steve merely gets furious with her and she gets sad.. by the way, i just looked up the italian version... .
selma ricorda una lezione che imparo dalla sorella che le conduceva lo studio.

This is completely omitted in the Spanish version... it is present in the Italian version though... very telling...
Having been married to an Italian at one time, yes......it's very telling....

another take on Selma and her not liking being hit
by therevealer in12 selma recalls a lesson she learned from the witness who studied with her.
"on one particular day," says selma, "i didn't want to have a bible study.
the night before, steve had hit me as i had tried to prove a point, and i was feeling sad and sorry for myself.

Questions From Thinkers
by Perry inhow do you explain david's graphic portrayal of jesus' death by crucifixion (psalm 22) 1000 years before christ lived?.
how do you account for the odds (1 in 10 to the 157th power) that even just 48 (of 300) old testament prophecies were fulfilled in jesus christ?.
in what sense was jesus a "good man" if he was lying in his claim to be god?.

Trying to have a discussion with Ndrew is like playing chess with a pigeon.
No matter how good you are at playing chess, the pigeon just knocks over the pieces, craps on the board and struts around like it's victorious.
