Hi Jayne, no, further south down in Melb. Though have passed through Gong a few times. There was a family there call the Ringels, Mum and 2 daughters, I hope that is the correct spelling. Used to hear some loony stories of the comings and goings up there. There was at least 2 congs from memory back in the mid 80's.
If you know the Ringel girls (Dianna & Anita) do you know what happened to them, where they are now?
Cheers, Mattieu.

What I did yesterday
by mrsjones5 ini had to do laundry and i'd found a small laundromat close by so i gathered as much stinky clothes as i could and headed on there.
when i arrived one person was just leaving and i had the whole place to myself.
one of the first things i noticed in the shabby little joint was the abundance of watchtower and awake rags.

Mrs Jones, I am sure this is a worldwide phenomenon, us Pioneers used to start and finish our time at a Laundromat! Apart from giving us long days in the field service, it used to boost our magazine placements! Funny thing is that none of us would go in when someone was using the Laundromat to put the magazines on the coffee tables. Mixture of fear of man & embarrassment.......

My JW Life... (LONG)
by silent ini never, ever thought i would ever be posting on a board such as this but here i am.
i've been reading the boards for several months and despite my initial conscience twinges, i couldn't help but follow a logical thought process on many issues that were causing me grief.
over this past week, due to the things i've read on here, i've had a massive cloud lift from me and i'm starting to feel joy and love in my heart that i've *never* felt before.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 05-03-09 WT Study (LAMB)
by blondie inevidence of god's confidence in the anointed, who "keep following the lamb no matter where he goes.
16 "my sheep listen to my voice," said jesus, "and i know them, and they follow me.
what shows that jesus christ completely trusts the slave class?

Thanks for your effort this week Blondie despite life being so hectic.
If there is ever a w/t that will cause a serious Bible student or someone with an inkling of an “independent spirit” to stop and think what a load of crap, it will be this one.
Questions such as:
What evidence is there that Jehovah trusts the faithful and discreet slave?
What shows that Jesus Christ completely trusts the slave class?Yet, the w/t in trying to answer those questions gives no solid proof! It quotes a few misapplied scriptures, goes in circles hoping that it has lost the majority of dubs who will be sitting there like robots smiling, putting their hands up and answering word for word what the paragraph says. Then the conductor will say “thank you for that insightful comment Brother Buttlicker, are we not appreciative that we belong to such a loving congregation?”
Brothers and sisters will go home or in service saying what a great watchtower today (mind you, most will be saying that to sound spiritual. Like I used to towards the end...)
It cannot just be me who read this week’s w/t and thought that this article lacked substance or foundation. Any high school teacher that had this article presented to them in a debating class would have given it a big F! (For fail.........)

Can you Sleep on a Windy Night? - Can't remember speaker
The last few hours of Jesus' Life - Can't remember speaker
We have both those tapes on cassette at home somewhere, used to listen to "The Last Few Hours" before every memorial....
