they totally had two jw women go to one of the characters "butters" house and gave him a magazine about some sort of destruction scene that was on the cover representing armageddon.
yet again showing that the ancient pagen name of hovah they worship really does live up to the name defined as ruin according to strongs 1943. wife and i laughed our butts off... even the world knows how the "wbtsociety" is so fear focused on destruction rather than the real love that our savior said should be our true walk and focus... .
i clicked the blue link ( praise put up ) and it takes me to a page that tries to force me to fill out a survey before I can watch it. My malwarebytes identifies it as a malicious site .
I tired the link that is not blue, )( OTWO put up) and it takes me to the NASA spoof that south park did. It was great, the little blonde boy is praying to the government and B. Obama. lol

I did not get the impression that this film claims to have all the answers, b/c as we know, no one does. He is giving a message about his personal journey and what helped his faith in God. I do not seem harm in this. No one is advising folks to just sit on their hands and wait for God to fix the world. You can be a part of the solution ( helping others) and still believe in God or NOT. This is your choice. His message in the film is one of renewing our faith in God despite the very bad world conditions . He is just trying to help encourage the weary . I am just taking what helps and leaving the rest.

Lisa rose I agree all the things you mentioned are sources of encouragement. I think this film is too. I can find encouragement from all sorts of things.
The solution is for us all to do our part in our community - start there. Get involved in what happens in your own community. Donate time to an org that helps children and those who can't help themselves.
You really can't stop evil people but you might avoid becoming their victims. I find some "Bible thumpers" to be helpful and I also find talks on TED to be helpful. I try and draw encouragement from whatever source I can.
You talk as if a bible thumping hucksters is the only possible source of hope in the world.
and your response sounds like I am allowed to draw encouragement from anything else but the Bible. Not everyone is a "huckster" and recall that we are all human so if I wait for a perfect person to deliver a message from God, I could be waiting a very long time. It is called, take what helps and leave the rest.

I am no longer a sheeple . People are feeling sad and he is offering encouragement. I can listen to his message and even if the messenger is imperfect, I might still get encouragement from it. I'm not joining his church and I certainly do not agree with him on everything.
Even the jws get some things right. I always found the " James" book very encouraging . I find parts of the Bible encouraging too. I recall a song that said " whatever gets you through the night is alright..." . Hope is just that, hope. Once I hoped to live in on the earth after armageddon. Others hope to live in heaven after death. Hope is all anyone is offering and we do need hope.

terry has an amazing gift for words and expression - as most of you already know - and he lured me in from the very start.

being a male jehovah's witness during the viet nam war meant certain "issues" arose affecting a decision to respond to the military draft.i have told the story before.
but, i'd like go at it from another angle in view of the above mentioned new light about the fds fora different reason.it was first in 1967 i began to discover that there are two watchtower societies.let me explain why i say this and for what reasons.first of all, anybody standing in a kingdom hall or sitting in a seat at a vast international assembly saw people they would identify as all on the same page.
I'm getting this book for my husband who is about your age. He managed to get a deferment based on becoming a father. The FBI agents were trying to help us. We explained that he was being forced to do this and he had no choice . The prison the jws would put him in was worse b/c we would lose our community.
He was just saying the other day that wts really messed up our lives as here he was at retirement age and he could have had VA benefits. My father served 2 prison terms during ww2 due to extreme nationalism in our part of the country. he had a break-down in prison and was shunned while in prison . He never recovered . He was viewed by folks down here as a traitor for not serving his country and he had a prison record. I was born into this mess. So yes, what the wts did at that time has affected many people's lives, mine and my family.

I do not fear anything he would say or pamphlets he might hand out. I could never do this before but after leaving jws I feel a lot of freeness and realize no one can con me into following a man anymore. If you are a believer, follow God, not man.
so, yeah, I want to hear what he has to say. Who is it going to hurt? If he uplifts the spirits of people who are sad- has he committed a crime? I'm not joining anything but I might listen on TV.

My hubby and I recently heard Joyce Meyers speak ( on tv) and she is very interesting. She kept our attention and we both felt a lift in spirits after listening to her. I checked her on wiki and it appears she was one of the 4 religions being audited by IRS . It turns out she made it. They have a enormous home.
Still it does not invalidate what she said. again, take what you need, leave the rest.
