Fading, that is OK. We should be careful. This is one of the biggest Xjws sites around and many folks who do not even post here will come to check on the latest info from the Borg. We have lots of lurkers . The wts is awful enough without misquoting them.

judging your brothers is not new. I recall this being said many years ago. Prior to 75 they began to beat the drums about this and then after the apostasy in the late 70's and 80's it was openly talked about. Anyone could "mark" anyone they cared to personally. The org became a much less loving place to be and many jws who had "issues" eventually became inactive and left due to lack of love among the brotherhood.

There is room for negation , at least let the law apply equally with no special waivers. I think that is fair to all.

Things said from the platform are everything. They carry as much weight among the jws as anything else. Jws are famous for unwritten rules etc. Most of the 1975 stuff was from the platform and if you had been there you'd know this- No one openly denied 1975 without being viewed as "bum" jws or worse, potentially an apostate. That might have varied from Congo to Congo or area, but I recall with great clarity that time period.

They are rallying the troops to stop the bleeding and demanding money. As Blondie and others have said, since they quit charging for the literature, cash flow has been an issue. Maybe churches are right to pass the 'hat". It does cost to maintain the building etc . It is not as guilt producing as the constant not so veiled insults from the platform.

Simply b/c someone wins an election does not mean the American people must agree with everything they now decide to RAM down the peoples throats. That is a dictatorship. Elected officials can be removed- note the governor in Colorado recently. Dem's won the presidency but a significant amount of people voted against them. He is the pres of all the USA , not just those who voted for him.

Health care for all has to be paid for and a major issue that the opposing side presents is all the special waivers . Currently one point of negation is to remove All special waivers and make it a level playing field. The Pres does not want to do that. Why? Is he paying back folks who helped him get elected and postponing the onset of the worst parts of this law until 14 , hoping not to lose anymore seats in the house or senate?

A nurse I know is from South Korea. He moved to Canada b/c his Aunt was there. He said about 50% of his salary was being taken from him to pay for all the " free" things . He moved to USA b/c he was tired of this. His remarks were Canada was probably great for the retired and the very young, but if you worked not so good.

Letting this role out is a good thing-- democracy in action. The world has not come to an end b/c politicians are fighting.

Did anyone see Lincoln? Recall the debates and fighting? The country is not falling apart, this is what democracy is about, free speech . It will get resolved. These meetings have not always been so public. I just know this is not the first or last fight the house has been in.

I agree , a fist fight may be next.

I think the Dem's are the terrorists, seriously refusing to negotiate ? Even Clinton did that.
