  Jws and poverty

  when i say poverty, i mean not knowing where your next meal is coming from or being unable to pay your bills or afford necessary medicines poverty.

  i'm talking the kinds of poor people who have to get food from charities kind of poor, or long term unemployment living in a trailer/caravan kind of poor.

  holes in clothes poor.

  I don't give the wts "credit" for anything Any Church can teach morals and hygiene, good habits and work ethic. Many religions have missionary's that really go out and help people- not just give the a copy of the wt & aw.

  You gotta credit the cult for instilling good hygiene and personal presentation habits in its members.-julia

  the feeling by the 80's in my area was - jws do not work the high risk poor areas ( unemployment, drugs, crime etc) areas. That felt Jehovah could sort it out.

  I recall in the 50-70's it was not uncommon for a poor jws couple with a bunch of kids to move in to a Congo and use up all the Christian help and then move on - only to do it in another Congo. Finally Congo's started finding out about these folks and would report on these folks. Still it was easy to disappear and hard for a Congo to know they were helping gypsies.

  In my area by the late 70's the wts was looking to put a new face on their religion. We heard from brothers in Bethel that jws were considered a poor religion that allowed blacks, Mexicans and poor whites in. The Congo's here were trying to distance themselves from that image and so were actively recruiting the college educated. A lot of the poor were marked, moved on or were df'd.

  Most of the poor in my area were actively encouraged to MOVE to somewhere were they fit in.

  my mom used to say that jws were NO GOOD if you had problems ie, drug or alcohol problems, mental illness or had a dysfunctional family. she was right/

  467-468 maintaining a balanced viewpoint toward disfellowshiped ones.

  5 it is right to hate the wrong committed by the disfellowshiped one, but it is not right to hate the person nor is it right to treat such ones in an inhumane way.suppose, then, a member of a christian congregation boating on a lake were to see another boat containing a disfellowshiped person capsize, throwing the disfellowshiped one into the water where he struggled to stay afloat.

  it may be an old view, but that article appeared for a reason. Jws were treating df/marked ones cruelly and the wts saw the need to correct that viewpoint. Jws since Rutherford have tended to hate df'd ones . Briefly it was corrected but that did not last long. with the advent of the "great apostasy" that began after the 75 debacle , the Org has gone back to the standard position of hating df ones . After all, if it were in Bible times they could stone a df person to death. Be grateful .

  over the years we have been waring against the watchtower, and our battle field has been the internet.and we have been very successful in establishing discussion forums and online resorces exposing false teachings and we have used youtube to further shed light on the watchtower, we have even written books to this end.. .

  yes we have attacked watchtower at its weakest point, the internet and we have been able to do this as small groups and even individualy.

  I agree, see my post on Cedars DA thread. We are now playing by the wts rules. They want us to just leave if we don't' want to be jws and leave them alone. They have always said this, "why dont' they just leave?" Problem is they have our families and friends and many of us have suffered damage that can't be undone.Here is my post:

  sigh, I think we are playing by the wts rules, we are playing right into their hands, by their playbook.

  We did not used to discourage or condescend to those who wanted to rail against the wts. Now we just give up and encourage others too, and if they don't they are fanatics.. Giving up may be OK for some but not everyone. I swear this is a very different bunch of xjws than when I came along in 02. We had fire and and wanted to see the end of injustice in the Borg. . Now we just give up b/c the wts is a big ORG with deep pockets?

  Thank goodness for the Conti's and others like them. So now this board is an xjws board but once you come here we sort of tell you to just forget all the hell they put you through and move on with your life. More and more I feel the influence of the Borg, right here on this board. After all , that is what the Borg has always said" why don't the apostates just LEAVE if they disagree with us?"

  Why don't we, b/c they have our families and friends. Has anyone forgotten what they took from all of us"

  They made me throw away a windchime!!!

  i had a lovely mirrored windchime in my house.

  my study conductor told me it attracted deemunz and i threw it in the trash.

  i've since bought another.. what's the reasoning behind that idiocy??

  I have wind chimes on the back porch. They make such a symphony when the wind blows. I have dream catchers in our bedrooms. I love the stories behind them. My kids all have them in their bedrooms. It is a wonderful story behind them. Why can't life have a little charm in it? :) We put faeries in the garden and gargoyles too. Life is too short to worry so much about fun things.

  Merry Christmas Grace and glad to hear the TV and heat are back on. I am so glad there are those near where you live who can look in on you. I am so far away from Canada. wishing you presents and a sunny island. ( TV and electric will make do)

  We are spending the holidays alone too, life goes on.

  They have a lot of the same superstitious beliefs jws. They excommunicate too. They make jws look like a sane alternative.

  In the bible Belt they are many, along with Church of Christ and a few others who are similar. They are like locusts, extreme pests. They make jws look like a sane alternative.

  henry 51bs 12 oz,eve 51bs 14 oz...phil my grnason by marriage just called.. ashley the new mum) my granddaughter who herself was a twin,from my melanie who died when she was 42(cancer).

  they are doing well born by ceaserian at 2.40p.m today!!!!!

  Twins are so much fun. Their personalties different from birth even if they are identical .A wonderful miracle.
