hi, I'm incense's son...need help
by recneps ini know that my mom frequents these boards a lot, she says it has really helped her deal with her pain caused by the jw's.
i figured maybe you could help me out too.. i'll start by saying that i'm fifteen, and that i am in an unfavorable situation concerning my relationship with a witness.
my mom doesn't feel comfortable with me talking to this person, and she says that it is a bad thing to be talking to her.

recneps: The only advice I will offer is to keep an open mind about both sides for now. Oh and please, don't get baptized until you have at least finished college. Mulan that was an excellent post!

Last Days Reconsidered?
by comforter inanybuddy in this place still believe we living in last days?
the signs of the times look clear.
child kidnappings, serial killers, wars, suicide and homicide bombers and more problems than you shake stick at.

Crazy: Some won't process the information immediately but others can read the responses to comforter's statement. It's not always an immediate response that matters with a discussion such as this one. There are some lurking that will go away and contemplate the information. Then. how you respond to persons asking these questions also leaves an impression.

Free:
This is an interesting poem. I've found writing is a tool for healing even though I hate writing. I have to work at writing that's why. I prefer to make images to express my thoughts because it comes easily to me.
Lady Lee Says:
I sometimes find looking at how many have read my work is better than reading how many posted to it - less depressing
It's because your essays are comprehensive and there is little to add to your thoughts. So, yes what matters is how many read your essays.

On The Art Of Fading
by expatbrit inin october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.
like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).
fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.

Should I Go To College?
by joeshmoe inlike a typical witness goody-goody-two-shoes, i eschewed college in favor of "theocratic pursuits" when i was a teen (i.e.
over 5 yrs at bethel).
now, at age 26, with my eyes opened and purged of the witness insanity, im thinking about college again.
-
Imbue
Yes, go to college! Go even if you have to take one class at a time and pay for it out of your pocket. You won't regret it but you may regret not attending college. Now, it won't be anyone else's fault but your own if you decide not to attend. Since you're out of the org you're responsible for your own decisions and the consequences of those decisions. It's your life now so don't waste it in a job that doesn't challenge your mental process.

New Tract-Youths What Will You Do With Your Life
by Scarlet ini was wondering if any of you have read this tract that was given out at the district convention .. i found in this tract they are pushing the fulltime ministry more than ever before.
they in so many words say if you are not a fulltime minister you are not serving god.
it stated that youths today should not strive for academic success.
-

It saddened me to read this tract because of all the young people that will be affected by it's content. The consequences of making major life decisions based on the fear of displeasing your parents or the org are severe. Many of us have experienced or observed these consequences as a result of the WT's practice of spiritual abuse. This brochure demonstrates the spiritual abuse practiced by the organization.
Zenpunk...your showing them now...

Some may need to care for someone dying from emphysema or lung cancer to understand the effects of smoking. Volunteer to assist someone with these diseases with their activities of daily living. In just one day and you will see why you need to quit smoking. It's an agonizing way to die and I wouldn't want to watch anyone die that way again! My quitting smoking was the one good experience I've taken away from the org. I hope I never pick up that nasty habit again. I'm not ashamed to say I did quit to serve God. Maybe some of you raised in the troofs rebelled against the org and your parents by smoking. However, you are only hurting yourselves with each toke. Please consider smokers anonymous if you find it difficult to quit on your own. Yes, there is a 12 step program for tobacco addicts.
