12) Also try the department of labor in your county because they may have jobs posted in their office or on the net.

Financial Help.
by Yizuman inhit my posting limit and am using my second account..... i don't know if anyone can help or not.. but i am in a desprate situation whereas i have to swallow my pride and seek out some help.. i am behind rent as well as my morgage ( i own a moble home on a lot rent).. need food as well.. phone needs to stay in service since i am deaf and need it as part my text communication for hopes of landing a better job.
sister can email me to let me know if a employer calls, so i can drive over and find out what's up from there.. i work at wal-mart and alot of us have our hours cut to 20+ hrs a week, so this is hurting me fianacially.. job hunts is hard since i am deaf since most employers seems to prefer hiring a hearing person.. i know of a deaf friend who is unemployed and he went thru 20 job interviews in a month.
none of them ever called or emailed him to say he got a job.. family can't help since they all have their own problems to deal with.. i can post all the info you need if anyone needs it, such as my landlord's address and my morgage address if anyone wants to mail a check directly to them.

Yizman, 1) Yizman has posted that he is male on three different boards. 2) I can understand some people being suspicious of you because you're not the first to try and ask the forum for money. 3) You can apply for welfare and they will help you if you are telling the truth about everything. However, they may place a lean on your trailer to get the money back, if it is sold. I doubt you could rent a place to live for less than $179.00(you claimed this is your mortgage.) 4) Many deaf persons are highly intelligent and some are college educated. Your claims regarding his intelligence are insulting and ignorant. I happen to know many deaf persons that are very intelligent. Most deaf persons have partial hearing, as Yizman claims he can hear some loud noises and very FEW are stone deaf 5) It isn't that easy to prove discrimination in hiring practices. 9) Everyone can't do house cleaning and everybody shouldn't do it either. I recommend someone from the KH to people I knew and they didn't know how to clean. They just took the people's money and didn't do any work. *embarrassing* 6) There were many other good suggestions, such as Community Services, which may help you find employment and assist you with your housing situation. 7) Try applying to large companies because sometimes they are looking to meet quotas in hiring the disabled. They may be more willing to give you a chance to work. Other possibilities are local colleges may need help in food service or maintenance. Try applying to school districts for custodial work because, once again, they may need to hire someone disabled. You should take advantage of any opportunities you may have available. Does you bank know you are deaf and looking for work? Ask your bank if they need someone to do cleaning or mainatence. A housekeeper, I knew at a hospital, would work nights polishing the floors at banks. Hospitals and Nursing homes are a great place to look because they always need help, either in the kitchen, food service, feeding clients, cleaning and laundry. Also large laundry service companies are a place that will hire anybody willing to work for almost nothing. 8) Contact the NAD and ask them for if they know of any programs to aid the deaf with education, job training and jobs. http://www.nad.org/ 10) You really need to go back to school and get some sort of job training suitable to your needs and abilities. You need to acquire training so valuable that prospective employers will not care that you are deaf. 11) Sell whatever you can to pay your mortgage because I hear the internet connection sux in card board boxes.

Your name Happysunshine is sarcastic eh? Medications have also helped many people. I've heard patients rejoice because taking lithium was like a light when on for them. Your friend is doing the worst thing he can do to himself with suicidal thoughts. His self diagnosing and refusing to try treatment isn't the answer. Many people continue to suffer with mental illness unnecessarily because they are afraid to take medication. "I'm not trying to scare you. I'm trying to empower you. I guess what I'm trying to say is be careful, and believe inyourself. I really think that a holistic (community, food, lifestyle, etc...) solution is best. Primarily because it is self-maintaining. Drugs and doctors can't live with you forever. Take care- J" A holistic lifestyle isn't a cure for a person with a chemical imbalance. If that were true then you would have the cure for mental illness. Of course anyone can benefit from a healthier life style, but it can't cure mental illness. Cyn, It's all on an individual basis and don't give up after trying just one combination of medication. As for your DR. being able to place you in a psychiatric ward for seven days against your will. That is not true depending on where you live. It's very difficult to be placed in a psych ward in the US against your will. I hope you were diagnosed by a psychiatrist rather than a general practitioner. A good physician would refer you to a psychiatrist rather than try to diagnose a mental illness.

#1. Do doctors prescribe 3 medications at on time if they suspect that you are bipolar or do they begin with one and add on????
Usually a combination of medications are prescribed after diagnosing and not for just suspecting someone is bipolar. Are you taking Depakote, Wellbutrin and Zyprexa?
#2. Does depakote cause weight gain ( or has it for those who have taken it )?
It can for some people and you need to follow up with valporic acid blood levels to make sure that Depakote is at therapeutic level. There maybe other medication options if this is too much of a problem. However, Depakote has less side effects than some other medications in this category.
#3. What type of therapy ( therapist) is recommend for PTSD???
Didn't your psychiatrist recommend what you need or did he just medicate you and wave goodbye? I suggest that you call your county department of mental heath/hygiene and get a referral. There are many good support groups and individual therapy options Here is a great link for information about the drugs you are taking. http://support4hope.com/medications/index.htm If you are feeling numb because of the medications you should discuss alternatives with your psychiatrist. -

By the way...How could she be on welfare when her husband is an elder? Then, how is he an elder when he doesn't support his family? Also, you can work while on welfare but you have to report the money. If it's more than you are allowed to make then it's deducted. At least this is what I've been told by some JWs on welfare.
