The luck of the draw.
by atomant inlf you were unlucky enough to be born into the jw sect the chances are high that you became a witness.the same applies to most things in life.lf you were lucky enough to be born into a very rich family the chance is that you to will be rich.lf you were born into a third world impoverished family chances are you will suffer your entire life.my point is there is always someone worse off than you.the mere fact that your reading this means you are probably better off than roughly a third of the worlds population.a person dies every 4 seconds of hunger or hunger related causes and yet there is plenty of food available for everyone.so really its just a matter of keeping a proper prospective on things.theres a lot to be said about a pma (positive mental attitude).

"The luck of the draw" is definitely true for the religion/belief system someone is born into. This is not a choice a child is allowed to make. It is thrust upon them. A child born in the middle east is unlikely to be a Christian. It is only as we grow up and become better informed that we realize we have been manipulated. For me, this is just one of the many reasons that refutes the existence of God. Some many different flavours of faith/belief. And all with their 'My god is better than your god' underlying theme.
Everyone has choices they can make in life.
"If you don't like what you got, why don't you change it?
If your world is all screwed up, re-arrange it.
Raise a little hell, raise a little hell, raise a little hell" -- Trooper
I think it is a human responsibility to try to make our world a better place. Because we know there are those that are only out for themselves.
"When we do go, we feel good."
And just for the record... I was born into the pseudo-Christian religion Jehovah's Witnesses... but I am NOT a JW.

Cain's wife had to be one of his sisters... if you believe in the Adam and Eve story as literal truth. -

If death is a natural occurrence in the human species, why are we born with the innate feeling to continue living indefinitely?
by Tenacious inthere are some people that do in fact want to die.
these people include the mentally unstable, emotionally imbalanced, and those suffering from ailments or diseases, just to name a few.. i've never met however, anyone, or heard of anyone, who is of sound mind, who just awoke one day and thought it would be an excellent day to die......naturally.. your thoughts?.

When you reach 80+ years old, and your physical and mental abilities are starting to really fail, tell us again how much you want to continue living indefinitely. I think by that time you may have changed your mind. -

Perhaps you could ask a minister or priest this question and see what they say. I think you already know the answer but it would be interesting to see what fancy footwork they demonstrate for you.

As we age, more and more of the people we identify with and we 'know' pass away. Not one of the nicer sides of getting older. And yes, tal, I agree with your statement about Patty being a big deal, helping to put a public, well known face on bi-polar disease. RIP Ms Duke.

Can God do everything? Can he sin?
by James Mixon inreading this and it made me think, god cannot do everything.
god is holy and he cannot.
sin.

James said: Heaven: OK that said it all," He create evil".
I do not understand why anyone would want to worship an entity that did this. It boggles my mind.
Edited to add: Zoos, another good scripture find.

Isaiah 45:7: I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. - KJV
Wouldn't the biggest sin of all be to create evil in the first place? -

You are tomato sauce...
by rrb2016 inthe wife and i went to the memorial strictly out of respect for my mother-in-law last night.
luckily our 20 month-old grand-baby was restless and making noise, so i quickly volunteered to take him in the back.
so i didn't have to listen to the presentation.
