They have some creepy animated videos now and are really money grubbing. Like the one where they are trying to guilt children into donating their ice cream money to G.O.D. Yes, Geoff Jackson, under oath during the Australian Royal Commission said that the GB are G.O.D. (Guardians of Doctrine).

Damaging Children With the Christian Gospel
by cofty inthe christian gospel begins with the dehumanising assertion that all humans are fallen sinners who deserve nothing but god's judgement and wrath.. not only does this taint all relationships between christians and unbelievers, it destroys the beautiful innocence of childhood.
in a recent edition of the popular christian radio program "family life today", titled “introducing your child to god,” co-host bob lepine discussed teaching “practical theology” to his young daughter, explaining:.
when my daughter, amy, was still less than two years old, i started teaching practical theology to her.

Joe = Man everyone is dying. Did you go to Sister Y funeral the other day. I think a lot of the old timers are now dying.
This is what happens as we all age. It is a fact of life.
What Botchtower has presented as possible truth about never growing old and living on Paradise Earth is bull crap.

Wow... There More Closet Faders Than I Thought
by pale.emperor inyep, im still fading.
i know it's gonna be a long and meticulous process but so far it's going well.
isnt it funny how when you stop reading the material and stop thinking yourself of being unworthy all the time - eventually you get happier and happier each day and see the world around you the way it is?

The ever changing doctrines of Botchtower are proof they do not have the truth. Period. And that leads to the next revelation that they are not being directed by God. Which really makes them just one more 'Christian' religion out of many with nothing really to offer except the FOG (Fear, Obligation, Guilt). I personally don't find this to be anywhere near the closest thing to the truth. On the contrary, it is far from it. -

God's Word and Modern Man
by TheLiberator ini have drawn the conclusion that when god speaks, he is using the language and the concepts of the time.
he is not revealing a new scientific understanding when he speaks.
that would be distracting from the point being made.

Why isn't the title of this thread "Goddess's Word and Modern Man"?

What I like about Science is this... if you choose not to believe them, they don't threaten you, upon your death, to judge you and if found guilty/unworthy, torture you for all eternity in a burning lake of fire. -

She displayed a literature cart in front of my house: That does it for me!
by Tempest in a Teacup inis this something they've asked them to do?
cart displays in front of their homes?
my mom is only in her mid 60s so i'm quite sure this is not an issue of mental illness.. the only illness she's suffering from is boredom since she's refused to work for years now.

Simon said: Then you make the rules. Kick the cart out, if she doesn't like it kick her out.
You would be well within your rights to mandate no cult literature be brought to your house.
Our Mom moved into my brother's house for a couple of years. He told her no preaching to his kids. He did allow her to have a Bible study with some old woman who was almost blind and still driving (she was a hazard on the roads as I followed her one day going to my brother's house... holy cow!).
But it was strictly no preaching or discussing their religious crap with him or his family. Way to go Bro!

I am my Father's POA (Power of Attorney). Over 5 years ago, I took over my Dad's finances. He had been giving the Borg tens of thousands of dollars every year! (and nothing to his grand kids btw).
ALL of that came to a screeching halt when I took over. Botchtower has received nothing from him since that time. If more and more older ones who were giving substantial donations are no longer doing this, it must be taking a toll on their financial situation. Add in the lawsuits and the recruitment from poorer countries and the money just isn't there any longer.
I suspect their financial models have been somewhat irresponsible as well. When you think the end of the world is coming imminently, why would you need to be frugal?
It all adds up to financial downfall.
But if this is God's organization, why isn't he ensuring their financial well being? And isn't money the root of all evil? Just one more thing that made me wonder about the whole money/religion thing (back then they used to charge a subscription fee for the ragazines).

NASA has so far discovered 12 other planets besides Earth in the habitable zone of stars within the Universe. They say there are many more and I'd agree based on the numbers of estimated stars, solar systems, and galaxies out there. This means that, so far as we know, at least 12 other planets besides ours quite possibly contain life.
How many of these planets actually have Christians on them? I'd wager none, zero, nada, bupkis.
