  the following comment by lieu on another topic shows me that i would be totally frustrated, actually exasperated, stifled and depressed in the modern form of jwdom: "therein lies the real problem billy, no one is paying any attention at regular meetings let alone conventions.

  "Listen and Obey" is their current mantra. It creates disabled thinkers. They don't want critical thinkers because they can't back up their doctrines. Truth always holds up to scrutiny - Botchtower does not.

  I told my Dad once that the human mind requires variety or else it will get sick. Constantly doing, thinking, and talking "Jehovah, Jehovah, Jehovah" causes neurological burn in. My Father now suffers from dementia. He will die because of this.

  Old Relative Not Happy About Push To Use Ipads Etc

  i was in a close relatives house yesterday and she was having angry and resentful at the push to use electronic devices at the meetings.

  she was talking to another relative of mine who has just got an ipad to use.

  this relative of mine is very elderly and obviously prefers to use her bible and other books.

  I've said it before and I'll keep on saying it...

  This religion is a performance based one geared towards young able-bodied, able minded people. Once you get old and useless, they don't give a crap about you.

  i don't have access to my old email, so i'm using a new account.. anyway, i was baptized jw in late 90's.

  da'd mid 2000s.. when i left there were three meets a week plus field service.

  They have some creepy animated videos now and are really money grubbing. Like the one where they are trying to guilt children into donating their ice cream money to G.O.D. Yes, Geoff Jackson, under oath during the Australian Royal Commission said that the GB are G.O.D. (Guardians of Doctrine).

  the christian gospel begins with the dehumanising assertion that all humans are fallen sinners who deserve nothing but god's judgement and wrath.. not only does this taint all relationships between christians and unbelievers, it destroys the beautiful innocence of childhood.

  Joe = Man everyone is dying. Did you go to Sister Y funeral the other day. I think a lot of the old timers are now dying.

  This is what happens as we all age. It is a fact of life.

  i know it's gonna be a long and meticulous process but so far it's going well.

  isnt it funny how when you stop reading the material and stop thinking yourself of being unworthy all the time - eventually you get happier and happier each day and see the world around you the way it is?

  The ever changing doctrines of Botchtower are proof they do not have the truth. Period. And that leads to the next revelation that they are not being directed by God. Which really makes them just one more 'Christian' religion out of many with nothing really to offer except the FOG (Fear, Obligation, Guilt). I personally don't find this to be anywhere near the closest thing to the truth. On the contrary, it is far from it.
