I did not have children in large part due to my JW upbringing.
About Rutherford, he was an ass. And he even said so himself.
before i left a number of years ago i remember getting bombarded with the message that we shouldn't have children as it wasn't fair to them.
they would have to grow as conditions got worse during the end.
is there anything in the literature or was this just through talks.

..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.
Cold Steel said: Regardless of when predation began, every living thing on Earth, every bug, every plant and even Earth itself will eventually be made whole and glorified because of Christ.
But you said, animals die because Adam and Eve sinned. The evidence contradicts your statement as the animals were killing and eating each other well before any human 'sinned'. The animals were here on Earth long before humans were. Your logic is flawed.
i have been wondering why your organization cannot accept evolution?
(when i say "cannot accept" i mean: you see it as anti christian) the reason i'm so curious about this is because by putting this here i hope to get smarter answers than i usually get, and also because you don't seem to put things like quantum theory, string theory, under the "evil scary scientific stuff label", also many religions have accepted evolution as most likely possible, or as something that is ok to believe since god could have used evolution to create mankind, in fact evolution isn't a "religion" and automatically doesn't get you labeled as an atheist, unless you are talking to the wrong person.
i am by no means trying to make you believe in evolution, i will respect you views, i believe every man has free will, well it kind of says it in the bible.
time to take a break from debating religion.
take in a breath of fresh air and be healed by the wonders of nature around you.. how many of you have a garden?
how many have a nice flower patch to go with your vegetable garden?
More bulbs up at Dad's place but no flowers yet. My Monarda/bee balm is coming up as are my Columbine but flowers are probably 2 to 4 weeks off. The Dandelions are coming up but not flowering yet. We still have chilly/cold nights with frost. I think the Lamb's Quarters is also up but with only 2 teeny tiny leaves it's hard to tell what they are... could be some lettuce too.

Cold Steel said: As I see it, Paul put it plainly when he said, "For in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." (I Corinthians 15:22)Many take this "all" to be humans only, but since animals inherited death through Adam, I believe they will inherit life through the atonement.
Cold Steel, predation was occurring on Earth well before homo sapien arrived on the scene.
... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.

Yes... JW's - bastardizing ancient beliefs with their own brand of bull sh!te for over 100 years. And still, Armageddon has not arrived.
<sarcasm> But they don't go beyond what is written... nooooo. </sarcasm>
many of us christians have a good question for you to ask, “who is god?” there are more than six scriptures to share with you.
you know the bible itself a true message for all the people on earth.
the bible explains ‘in the beginning god created everything: heaven, earth, animals, people and everything.’ thus, you notice god created humans, adam and eve.
hiccups are a weird phenomena.
they are a combination of two involuntary actions - firstly a rapid inhalation of breath followed 35 milliseconds later by the glottis at the back of the throat suddenly closing off our airway.. our normal breathing is controlled by a "central pattern generator" in a small region of the brain stem close to the boundary with the spinal cord.
a signal is sent along the vagus and phrenic nerves resulting in a rhythmic contraction of muscles in chest, diaphragm and throat.. these nerves branch off right at the top of the spinal cord and follow a convoluted path through the chest cavity.
Truthexplorer, ever hear of Eratosthenes? If not, you should check him out.
Here's Carl Sagan from his Cosmos series explaining what Eratosthenes discovered about the Earth's surface and circumference in a very simple way.

I think we've turned the corner here in Ontario... sunny skies and warmer weather are finally here. Still gets chilly/frosty at night though.
My chive is growing - no flowers yet. I imagine the frost resistant pansies will be in the stores soon. Our frost free days start on the May 24th weekend.
I will be heading to my Dad's place this weekend - I will see if the bulbs have bloomed yet.
during co visit, i took him for a bible study i was conducting.
during the session, the householder said he believed satan was not a person, but personification of evil within us.
i left co to handle householder’s doubt.
I have to agree with the householder's and your definition of evil elbib.
Evil starts as a choice to do something bad. This lives within all of us. If Jesus was a real person, he, too, had this within him.
It was Christianity that decided to personify, externalize, and elevate evil to the status of person-hood by giving it a proper, formal name. By doing this, Christianity has exonerated themselves from the responsibility of evil, ie the choice to do bad. It is where "The Devil Made Me Do It" ideal originated. Just think on that for a bit and what that actually means.

elbib, WTWizard has some interesting thoughts on the whole Satan - God - Bible thing.
