I don't know about you, but Trinity for me used to mean "two dudes and a bird."
by booby inhttp://www.heartlight.org/articles/200906/20090609_trinity.html.
i stumbled on this as we do sometimes as we go from point to point searching out something in particular.
in this case i was looking at proverbs 27:11 because of the way it was used/misused in the tower study covered by blondie and ended up reading this.

the reason they are angry is because you are going to a religious event... and you hid it from them...

What would it take for you to conclude that the WBTS is not God's channel?
by Mickey mouse ini wondered if you could answer this question for me?
you seem to be fine with the fact that they are false prophets, that they have changed the bible and that they have entered into an agreement to "uphold the aims of the un".. what is the deal breaker for you?.
i suspect that there isn't one, and that is not a reasonable position.. please tell me there is something they could do that would make you question their legitamacy?.

My E-mail to Sherri Shepherd of The View
by snowbird inwho knows where this may lead?.
hi, sherri.. i want to thank and commend you for your efforts in exposing the watchtower society for its history of deception, doctrinal flip-flops, and false prophesying about the end of the world.. i belong to a discussion board of mostly ex-jehovah's witnesses, and your revelations about the wts on the view have caused many to seek out our site.. one thing i'd like to ask, are you aware of the wt's past view that black people are inferior to others?.
you can find the details about this at randy watters' site, freeminds.org.

just in case everyone hasnt read up on their history (we know how much witnesses simply HATE education, etc etc, apostate, etc, etc)
EVERYONE WAS RACIST BACK THEN. lol
"the light gets brighter" - a witness would simply argue.

The light switch JW behavior
by restrangled ini want to explain my recent reaction to a new poster.
you can choose to quit reading now or go on.. i realize this person was probably in a lot of pain......scrappymomma.
it seems to me that that the initial post was out of frustration and fear of her own feelings but she took it upon herself to put everyone on this board on the defensive.. i am amazed at how tolerant and understanding you all were.

Must see video on Youtube where a JW is clearly defeated on the trinity subject...
by Tuesday inpersonally i hate bible ping-pong.
i don't think it ever gets anywhere, i don't think it solves anything and i don't think the participants ever make any head room.
however i will say in this case, i have been proven wrong.

Has anyone got anything positive from the WT organisation?
by BloominMarvellous ineveryone seems to just hate the wt.. i am very upset with the way ive been treated but i dont hate them.. they have given me huge self confidence after helping me out of depression, although i have a fab counsellor, so they cant get all the credit.
they have made me independent as well, (i think my ex-study conductor regrets that!
) i suddenly have a mind of my own and am not afraid to use it.. i owe them quite a lot they have really helped me through some bad times but they have created some bad times for me too.

its pretty much the same thing heaven - even so you can pinpoint certain aspects that are definetly a direct result of the org rather than just the witnesses themselves.

If you say you havent gotten anything positive out of being a witness or being associated with them, you either havent paid attention or might not have the fortitude or intelligence to make your own desicions or learn from ANYTHING.
for me? I view the witnesses like a school I graduated from. Public speaking, check. Talking to strangers about controversial subjects, check. Learning about the Bible, check (and then learning more after my association with the witnesses). Getting a decent work ethic, check. Staying out of politics, (even though it is in doubt the org itself did) check. Paying attention to history and world events, check. Travelling around the States, Canada, and mexico, check. Learning what a cult is like, check. Being able to develop friendships WITHOUT conditions (unlike the witnesses) check. Becoming closer to my family due to the witnesses (in my area) speaking of the importance of keeping contact with "worldly" relatives, check.
It was an experience i would trade for nothing. Of course, i seem to have been more "free" than most people here, and able to make my own decisions, unlike apparently some of the others here, who insist they were FORCED not to go to school, date a worldly girl, etc...
