Hmm, I'm free to eat, drink and be merry tonight, but tomorrow I'm simply booked solid - clear on through the weekend even. Could we schedule 'die' for another time? I have an opening 3:30pm on Thursday, December 31, 2099 - will that work?

i hate the watchtower.
and the governing body are the lowest lifeforms ever to crawl out of the devil's anus.
but the world really is no better & neither are ex-jdubs, despite their character building experience.. the watchtower and all other religions are pointless scumbag rackets.
There are two probable reasons for your post:
2. you are desperate for attention
In either case, you need professional help.
I just want to add that there is absolutely nothing wrong with needing attention. We are all social creatures, and we all need some attention at times. Social sites like Facebook thrive on giving people the feeling they are the center of attention (you didn't really think it was about connecting with friends...).
Receiving social attention is so importent to us that if we don't receive enough of it, we can get a little loopy, and seek it in ways that do more harm than good. Many of us have found ourselves there, especially amoung ex-JW's (considering shunning and all).
If this is where you find yourself, consider yourself like a stranded person who is slowly starving - try to take control of the situation, keep your wits, and rationally consider what options you have to safely satisfy your body's needs.

after almost a year of internet dating on various sites, i've concluded that it's not the place for me to meet the man of my dreams.
anyway, i'm happy i've given it a shot and i've gained lots of experience and even made a few male friends.
anyone here who's had better luck?.
Is internet dating for losers?
Yes, but then again, so is normal dating. Unless you won the genetic lottery, odds are men/women are not flocking to your door and staring in awe everywhere you go. In this since, you are to some degree a loser in the genetic lottery - i.e., you're not perfect.
So don't worry about what 'is' and 'isnt' for losers. For some people sex toys are for losers, higher up it's internet dating, and above that if you don't make 500k a year and own your own private jet, you are a loser (and indeed, compared to them, you are.) Calling people 'losers' because they happen to be slightly less well off financially or geneticly than you is an elitist and essentually evil thing to do which is poplular our culture.
Just go try it out and see if it works for you (just stay smart about meeting strangers.) Don't worry so much about what the popular kids are doing.

I tried the internet dating thing for a year on two different sites, and ultimately closed both accounts.
So from a guy's perspective, here's what you'll experience on the free site:
A) You contact an interesting and/or good-looking person. This person gets 10 emails a day, and odds are, your email is not noticed. If they do answer, no matter what you say they will soon find someone they find more intresting than you.
B) You contact a boring and/or plain-looking person. This person gets 10 emails a day, and odds are, your email is not noticed. If they do answer, no matter what you say they will soon find someone they find more intresting than you.
C) You are contacted by an unattractive, boring person that is 17 years older than you (but claims to be 33), and weighs 150 lbs more. In all three of their profile pictures they are sitting in the exactly same recliner in a dimly lit room with wood paneling behind them. You spend an hour trying to come up with a polite way of telling them you are not interested, and ultimately resort to a form letter you find on the internet that suits your needs.
D) An attractive, interesting person contacts you. At first you are excited and flattered reading their email, but then you realize that while the email has flawless english, the grammer in her profile sucks. She claims to be French yet in her photo she is clearly Japanese. Red flags keep piling up and any feeling of excitement or flattery is quickly replaced with disappointment as you realize it's just another scam.
Of course, on the pay site things are exactly the same. Except now you're paying for it.
I've had better luck meeting people at the grocery store and on hiking trails, so.. I think I'll stick with that. There's really no rush anyway, relationships tend to be a distraction from my goals in life.

just thought i would share this.........a brother who used to be a mercenary before he came into the truth gave the talk at the hall yesterday and he said that the bible was like jehovah's cv.....it told us everything about him.....so we can really know him.. he also said with all the governments and all the rules and regulations in the world, and nothing working at the moment, we should appreciate that jehovah only has 2 laws.............love him above all other things, and love our neighbours..........if only the whole world obeyed those 2 laws there would be peace without the need for armageddon................so its all down to humans why things are going wrong.. if we abandoned the planet tomorrow the earth would repair itself and there would be peace and harmony in nature.......... man has really messed up.. thank goodness we have had the chance to know jehovah and have a hope for the future!!.
.
.
If we abandoned the planet tomorrow the earth would repair itself and there would be peace and harmony in Nature.........
As nice as that sounds, it is a lie to believe nature lives in harmony. In earth's history, more species have gone extinct than exist on the earth today. Regardless of the changes man has made... nature has never been anything but a war for survival. Lions and bears are not 'in harmony' with the species they hunt. Predators were hunting prey to extinction long before man came along. This is fact, demonstratable by the fossil record.
It's silly to consider the works of man 'unnatural'. Everything in nature is a product of nature, and that includes man and his behavior. Man takes every advantage it can of it's environment the way all species try to do. Ants and bees build colonies. Beavers build dams. All species have an impact on the environment they live in, positive and negative. Man just adapts his environment to suit his own needs really, really well.
Sometimes even man is at the mercy of natural creatures changing their environment. The bacteria that grows in your gut produce chemicals that trick your immune system. They change YOU so that your own immune system fights off bacteria that are their rivals - sometimes causing food alergies.
Man does some unfortuately distructive things - but unlike a beaver that wipes out a species of frog by building dams in an area - humans can recognize the damage they cause and make an effort to reduce their impact.

what really is the biblical support for this major doctrine of the wt society?
when i was still a pioneer, we met a young lady at her door, crying and holding a small disabled baby, asking for an explanation.
my friend, it was his turn at the door, started to mumble something about universal sovereignity.
Not to mention, as Darth pointed out, God's constantly rigs the experiment. In effect - every time humans show promise, God interferes. It's like playing chess against someone that angrily grabs and throws your pieces off the board whenever you make a good move.
The whole 'humans governing themselves' experiment proves absolutely nothing - God invalided the experiment by immediately and repeatedly interfering with it.
Just more evidence (if you believe universal sovereignty is a core issue) the bible is the product of ignornat men, and not intellegent beings. Any sort of wise God would never have done an experiment in this manner (even we humans have a sense of ethics), and Satan would have cried fowl immediately at God's manipulation of the experiement.

just got a pm from blessedchild that joined 5 hours ago wanting me to send money to africa to feed them since their mother disowned them because they do not go to the kingdom hall.
a teacher let them use a computer to ask google for help and they found me.
sorry, dont want to sound cruel, but i can barely feed myself let alone some kids in another part of the world..
Seriously? Who are these people who are so gullible that they send money to strangers on the internet?
Frankly, if you fall for a scam like that... you probably don't deserve the money you lost.
BTW, a scam is going around on facebook - if your friends ask for money (and their grammer becomes unusually poor), call them. Some scamers are hacking into facebook accounts with a story about being robbed while on vacation, and then ask you to wire them money.

do you have a personal favorite as to being the most influential and positive person that you appreciate?.
some say fdr and martin luther king or churchill should be credited for making the world a better place.. some think al gore's enviromental crusades make him a leader.
some love obama for trying to set the world into a more positive direction.. who would you say made a truly meaningful positive impression on you?.
I'd nominate Norman Borlaug - He was a man that wasn't just talk. He didn't leave his mark on the world from the comfort of an armchair.
He worked hard in miserable places for 50 years to improve agriculture yields for people he didn't even know - and his work made a real difference for billions of people.

so, i'm 30-something and have been a lifelong jw, born and raised.
(yeah, i know double points against me on the social scale!).
i'm on my way out (and moving at a fast pace with that, lol) and um, am now realizing that outside of the kingdom hall, i am a bit of a social retard!
I hear ya. For a time I took solace in movies like the 40-year-old-virgin - just because you are behind doesn't mean there aren't ohter people in the same boat. I may have spent 20 years as an arrogant, ignorant, self-righteous dofus - but that doesn't mean I can't learn some new tricks.
And you can learn new tricks too - you just have to swallow your pride and be willing to play the fool for a while. Sometimes being the ignorant fool can be the most humiliating thing you can imagine - but sometimes it can be awesome learning that something you once considered evil is actually quite wondrous.
