JW's encourage children and adults to commit suicide (refuse often nessessary medical procedures for themselves or their children) for reasons based in bronze-age blood-worship. People die because of the WT and their biblical stupidity, and they are gone forever. Robbed of what is, for all observable purposes, their one and only life. Unless you can PROVE that these people are resurrected, anyone spreading the JW message is guilty of lying and leading people to an early grave.

This isn't the bronze age anymore. Stop passing your children through fire to Molech. If adults want to die for their faith, that is their foolishness - but stop brainwashing children into killing themselves.

You can make excuses and sugar-coat things for yourself all you like - but you're not fooling US. We see what you really are. JW's are a barbaric people.

I challenge your god to create fire (he's certainly not MY god, so I can put him to the test all I want - just like Elijah put Baal to the test). It's a good-ol fire-starting contest. I'll provide a BBQ, coal, and soak it in lighter fluid (you'll need the help).. and you pray to your dear ol' god to set it alight. Meanwhile, I'll employ modern science and technology - a bic lighter - to accomplish the same task.

Who are you going to put your money on for starting the fire first?

Oh, your god isn't performing miracles at this time? Huh.. I wonder why... maybe because he's indisposed, and on the privy. My bic lighter was not indisposed. The bible tells us how to identify a false god, and your own god cannot even pass his own test.

Meanwhile, the earth keeps spinning, and humanity is not so indisposed. Unlike prayer, tools and technology works. It's not perfect, it's not 100% - but works far more often than faith. Some of us (those that aren't blinded by fantasies) are working toward solving our own problems, for ourselves. It's a big job, but we have to do it - as responsible adults.

Faith does not get the job done. It's never actually done this.

Man, without god, has. Mathmatics, engineering, combustion engines, hydraulics, fluid dynamics, chemistry, composite materials, man-made materials... and good old human labor - these DO get the job done.

You waste everyone's time, as well as your own, with your non-working solution. The facts are right there, buddy.

just polling: what are some of your favorite classic and/or obscure video/computer games?.

lately i've been having an absolute blast with a pc engine emulator called "ootake.

" if you're not familiar with the pc engine, it was a console that was huge in japan but flopped in the u.s. as the "turbografx-16".

Well I used to program little games in Extended Basic on my TI99/4A and saved them to cassette. lol! They didn't play very well, but it was lots of fun anyway back in 1983.

Nice. The TI99/4A was my first computer - I programmed games on that thing as well (as well as an 8-9 yr old could anyway). It had some fun little games too - Alpiner, Burger Time, The Attack...

My best game was a sort of pac-man clone using text-based graphics (setcursor and print sort of thing). Eventually the cassette's would always fail on me after too many play/records and all my work would be lost.

Hmm.. I could list all my favorite old games, but this thread needs more pictures!

At least, these are the PC games (and a few dreamcast) I still have the boxes for. My favorites would be StarControl, Descent II, Theif, FF7/8 (for PC!), Morrowind, and obviously the older Tomb Raider games. (The image is larger if you right-click and pick 'view')

I wish I had more older boxes, back when they were big and neat (instead of the dvd-style boxes).

So honestly if I were to try vodka straight up, what should I try?

Straight up I started with Grey Goose - to get the taste for it. Grey Goose is very smooth. It's also quite expensive, so once you have a taste, you might try a few other brands that are more 'affordable' and decide which ones you like. Skyy isn't as smooth as Grey Goose, and is still a little on the pricey side, but I like it's taste and the fact that it's made in the US. I've tried a few others including Ketel One, but personally just landed on Skyy.

I usually have a glass of water along with the vodka when I'm drinking - I find by 'tasting' the vodka, then taking a sip of water to wash it down with, it's more pleasent. Without the water there is an aftertaste with every vodka I've tried that I don't care for as much. (Something to do with the tastebuds near the back of the tongue perhaps?)

For anyone reading, this nonsense is called baiting/trolling. The Theory of Evolution is not a religion, any more than the Theory of Relativity is. Notice his tactics - attempting to change the subject and re-establish the offensive (via mockery and insults) without addressing the alligations against his beliefs.

My points stand completely uncontested, and Mad reveals the depth and strength of his world view.

PS ALL in heaven and earth are before the throne- that's why the wicked try to hide from the one seated by running into caves- all a symbolic picture.

How utterly... blind to reality. Nobody is hiding in caves from your god. I feel absolutely no fear whatsoever toward him - just as I feel no fear toward Zeus or the ancient Angry Volcano God. They are all one and the same - make believe.

Humans cover this planet, we are right here, out in the open, huge cities with towering buildings in plain view - you call that 'hiding'? There is no hiding.

The ones hiding are the JW's - hiding in the fear of their own mortality. Unable to cope with the reality that you are going to die, and it will be forever. You hide yourselves from the 'world' - isolate yourselves and like frightened children and try to convince yourselves that the boogyman will not get you - that YOU are special, and that YOU will live forever.

You won't. Absolutely, 100% guaranteed. Of the 100 billion humans who have lived, anyone and everyone over 115 years old is dead. Your biological systems will fail, the unique neural connections that comprise you will decompose - and you will be lost. That is the reality of this universe, and I urge all JW's to stop hiding in their fantasies and come to grips with it.

Only then can you take your life off 'pause', you can stop making up excuses for the bible or doctrines that are clearly flawed - and begin learning and growing again.

Heh... Funny you didn't cut that off just at "Jehovah"... Not to put words in your mouth or anything, but 'god', 'Jehovah', or even 'the bible' wasn't your thought - it is specifically the organization - aka Watchtower Corporation.

Interesting.

Anyway back on topic, I think the article really shows how 'Awake' the awake authors are. "Rusty bucket! These atheists, once isolated in their viewpoints and thus mostly harmless, have discovered one another and are presenting a very persuasive and powerful messages on this new-fangled 'internets'." Atheists have been gaining voice on the Internet and via books for over a decade - way to be current.

Or maybe this is more... "Rotten potatoes! Our hugely inefficient and overly expensive manual door-to-door knocking process is a loony embarrassment compared to how quickly a viewpoint can spread via 20-21 century communication channels."
