each night i draw closer to completing towers of midnight.
i'm on page 918 or so right now, and somehow it makes me sad.
i started over from the beginning about 8 months ago (this is my third time through the available canon), and i'm nearly through everything published up to now.

I am not familar with this series?
It's a fantasy novel series started back in the 90's, often compared with the Lord of the Rings. The Wheel of Time is a lot longer - with hundreds of reoccuring characters, dozens of sub-plots, and spanning 14 books each about 800-1100 pages long. The author - Robert Jordan - passed away in 2007 before writing the final 3 books - but left extensive notes on how the story was to end, including recorded interviews and storytelling sessions to his wife and nephew while on his deathbed. Brandon Sanderson has been completing the story since then based on Jordan's notes.
Personally - The WoT series is what really got me into reading and collecting books, so it is a personal favorite of mine.

Heh... would have been a shame if that Mayan Calander thing had any meat...
I know myself that come the 8th, I'm going to have to disappear from sites like dragonmount... Don't want to read any spoilers accidently. :P

I am very excited myself... literally counting the days.

just came across an interesting study.
during brain scans, when people were asked how they felt about something, the same part of the brain was active as when they were asked how god felt about something.
when asked how other people felt about something, however, a different part of the brain was at work.. specifically, the portion of the brain that was active when asking people how god felt about things was the portion of the brain associated with self-referential thinking.... people are literally making god up in their own image as they go.
Do you think that the universe might be holographic, or fractal?
Heh, just 20 minutes ago I was watching an episode of "Through the Wormwhole" where one physicist postulated that the universe may indeed be a single node in a larger fractal - with other universes embedded within our own and manifesting themselves as black holes - while our universe is contained inside a black hole of a universe "above" ours in the repeating tree. They seemed to be suggesting a relationship between dark energy and energy/matter being pulled into the black hole - energy we can see no source of and yet pours into the universe from 'above'.
Interesting stuff, but of course very difficult to prove, as we can neither see 'outside' our universe, nor inside a black hole.

this is a sincere request to any brothers or sisters who are fearful of websites such as this; .
please imitate the beroeans who carefully examined the scriptures to see if what the apostle paul said was the truth.
they were described as being "noble minded" for doing so!!.
I have said what I wanted to say to the audience I intended to reach.
I feel no need to debate things point-for-point to no end.

It's a funny twist, Lime!

I mean.. as far as #10 "off-topic"... dang... nearly EVERYBODY here would be off-topic posting on a "Active Witnesses ONLY thread..."
I am amused that Aguest broke rule #10 herself first - posting twice, back-to-back while being a non-witness clearly - and then tried to call me out for breaking rule #10...
Come on... I mean.. really? Really?

Think of me as the person that stands next the the WT literature stand holding a sign about the WT's failed prophesies about the "Generation".
Of course you don't want me here and want me to take my points elsewhere so you can grow your following. I wouldn't expect you to want anything else!
You're trying to take advantage of people for the growth of your own personal cult (you do claim to know the will of god, afterall)... and if I am in violation of the forum rules for trying to warn people that you are not acting in their best interests, but in your own - I don't think I'll have a hard time sleeping at night for doing it... any more than I would feel guilty for telling a friend to stay away from the Watchtower.
I think a lot of people on this forum can identify with that. If they can't... I guess I'm the sort that calls people out on nonsense, and either this is a place that opposes nonsense or it is a place that defends nonsense.
Either way - I'm not pretending to be humble - I'm a guy who thinks what you promote is the same sort of nonsense the WT promotes. I'm just calling a charleton a charleton... in a world filled to the brink of charletons. The world is filled with people who claim things without any proof with the intent to take advantage of others.
